Well Weihrauch must be doing something right. The HW35 is now 73 years old and is still being manufactured. It holds the title as the longest air rifle in continuous production 1951 to the present day. It was the first to feature the Rekord trigger which is over half a century old and has never been surpassed in a sporting air rifle. I believe in the old adage: "You get what you pay for." Enough said!
@@LoneWolfLifeStyle2 No shame. As a German native speaker I am not bothered by that at all because I understand how difficult/challenging it is to pronounce it with the original German phonetics for anglophone native speakers, be it from the UK or the US. That's because the "ch" at the end is pronounced in German with a sound that doesn't exist in English. Being aware of that I could never demand it. Still, almost all of them are close enough anyway. Indeed you are correct about what you said about the V. Whoever is interested though can dig up some German YT video to listen to a sample and possibly reproduce it. I.e. from Airghandi. I confess I can be a mean nitpicker in some instances, but not about this.😄
My first "serious" airrifle that i bought ca.40years ago was a HW80. I still have it, only replaced the main spring and breach seal recently and it will last for another 40 years.
Weihrauch is a better option because it is "made in Germany". This means high quality. As we say here: das Produkt ist teuer, weil das Beste ist". Also quality has a price. Good video mate, thanks for share.
I love my large stable of Weihrauch products. Their aesthetic appeal is supreme. I've bought second tier products such as Gamo, Hatsan and Norica. They are gone, but the HWs are still here. My favorite? Right now, it's my brace of HW35Es with a gorgeous walnut stocks, but next week it may be an HW97K. Love those Weihrauchs. Heirloom quality easily worth the price.
I love my Weihrauchs too...have Hw30s, Hw35, Hw35E, Hw50s, two Hw57 (177 and 22), Hw77k, Hw95, two Hw97k (177 and 22), Hw97kbt, Hw98. Best springers in the world!
@@tomvanderham1416That is a hard choice to make...love my HW98 very accurate gun but too heavy to carry in woods...a pure targetrifle. The same goes for the excellent HW97K...too heavy in field. My choice would be HW35E in walnut...beautiful gun with smooth, silent cocking. A timeless design/build that will last forever!
There are only two producers of spring piston air rifles worth considering if you are serious about getting a good tool for the job. It's either Air Arms, or Weihrauch. And the only thing better on a TX200 or Pro Sport is the way it comes apart for service. They never really shoot better than a HW97 or HW77! Both can be tuned to near perfection, and that has been proven over and over again, for the money nothing beats a Weihrauch!
My son now has my HW80 I bought it before he was born he will be 34 in May the rifle is still sweet to shoot, looks and preforms great that is the H W brand , cheers for now stay safe 😊
Hats off to you Chuck for calling it by its name properly 👍👍👍 Why Weihrauch? Easy answer youre buying a quality airgun of wood and steel that works and keeps working. It has an awesome trigger and with the right ammo is super accurate. Yup theyre a little expensive but buy once and itll last a lifetime..buy cheap buy twice 😉 Most HWs come with proper decent iron sights metal on metal black on black, none of that trashy plastic fibre optic found on cheap guns. Ahhh the list is endless, well done buddy, excellent video 👍👍👍
Yes, I wish that they were not so over the top expensive. Several things to consider with the price, they have to pay all of their employees at Weihrauch and then they have to make a profit themselves, and then they have to pay to have them shipped overseas, and then the distributor over here has to make a $ off them also + shipping and taxes.
100% mate, the AirArms pip the HWs at the post. Straight out of the box they'll shoot rings around a HW no question, better trigger too and the wood on them is second to none. But here's the kicker they're much more expensive than a Weihrauch. Secondly and perhaps most importantly for me for my day to day shooting around the farm and woods the AirArms is left in the cabinet and it's always a Weihrauch that's used. Why? Simple I don't want to spend my hunting trip worrying about dinging up the stock or getting the metal wet and risk rust etc. The AirArms is relegated to the range in Summer months, when I want a workhorse that's going to do the business that's accurate and dependable it's always the HW as first choice 👍👍👍
My next purchase will be the TX200. I absolutely love it. I will be buying the 177cal. I've heard it's fairly quiet (around 70 db) with the factory shroud. It will be the right hand walnut version. I love the look. But my HW30S is still awesome for different reasons. It's almost half the weight, shorter and just very small feeling compared to the TX200. The HW30S is also way easier to cock. But the TX200 has been calling out to me for awhile. So I will get one. But the HW30S called to me as well..........😂
I started 48 years back with a HW50M from air rifle headquarters... just a tad more power than the HW30 Still have her- she cost a lot more than a "real" gun (ruger 10/22) and put a spring n seal in her a few years back. Love them- have several other vintage HW50's and a HW55 and grab about any reasonable second hand one I find :) I got a Beemanr7/hw 30 late n love that lil gun also. Had 2 until I gave one to a friend who could not hit chipmonks with his cheap airgun... he complains now that it is not fun- it shoots like a laser :p Any gun guy should treat themselves to a quality HW airgun- I have been saying that for years and still believe.
You are so right, They are more than spring air rifle, they are a work of durability and art, without junk plastic. They will outlive you by far! Moreover, as they are so loved and used, you will always find parts. God bless Weihrauch!
I may be odd but I love when I see other guys who love the QUALITY springers vs just the cheap "starter" or "servicable" ones ! I spent 25 years with my Weihrauch HW50M and a couple less with a Sheridan Blue streak and never felt lacking. I was a lil jealous of dads FWB 124 deluxe but even he had a hw50M- which I still have :D I did not start buying more ujjntil I found a couple at local auctiions and a freinds estate.... then some more auctions then the online stuff.... but the original 2-3 I had would still and are still worth having!
I have a hw 90k that i bought new about 25 years ago, rock solid extremely accurate tank of an air rifle, today i just ordered a hw95 field pro with a walnut stock, buy once cry once
I love mine. AOA recommended a Hawke Vantage 2×7 32 when I purchased the rifle. They also recommended the sportsmatch mounts. AOA mounted and sighted the scope. I can keep shots inside a penny at 25yards with almost any pellet. I easily adjusted the trigger to 1lb. There's a little metal tab that the adjustment screw goes through that you twist with pliers to bind the screw to lock it in place. Mine is 177cal. What's great is it shoots the cheap Walmart 7.4gr crossman pointed pellets fantastic. Airguns of Arizona didn't even charge me tax. $514 shipped to my door. Best money I've ever spent.
@@springpistonriflefeverlone9611 I saw people online doing different things to prevent the screw from moving. Some recommend Vibra Tite on the threads, some loctite and others nail polish. But I saw someone on the forums saying the metal bracket that the screw passed through was actually made to bend to set the screw. More like twisting the bracket. I actually confirmed this with AOA. So I wanted to try it. It worked perfectly. Several tins of pellets later and its still pulling at 12oz to 1lb depending on where I set the trigger guage on the trigger blade. I wanted to try the rifle exactly as the manufacturer intended. I love your videos. I enjoy hearing different ways of solving problems. I really liked your disassembly/reassembly HW30S. God bless you brother 👍
Hans Jr. explained to me how to pronounce his surname over the phone a few years ago. He is a straight-up guy that you would consider as your bud after talking with him.
The truth is, yes, they are expensive to buy, but you only spend your money once because if looked after these guns will last a lifetime and still perform. As I've said many times before. My hw80 is 35 years old and still as crisp as new .👍
That rifle is beautiful! Some how I have yet to buy a weihrauch. I definitely want one. I have a Diana 34 and 48. And the best one I own is the Air arm’s tx-200 Mk3. To be honest sometimes I find myself shooting my Hatsan 95 and 125 more than the others because like you said they seem to need work right out of the box. At least if you want them to group like the best of em. But I think chasing the problem’s sometimes keeps me shooting more. The tx is so accurate sometimes you might get a little bored lol. I’m definitely not complaining about it lol. When you are serious about your hobby there is no shame in spending the money on a weihrauch. People spend their money on a lot more foolish things than that.
I have the good fortune to live within a 30min drive from AoAz, where I handled the HW 30, 35 and 95, never had a springer-grew up on pumpers.. now to decide on which model and caliber.. ;)
@@springpistonriflefeverlone9611 Not yet..currently between the 50 and 95, .177 vs .22..I'm really just a plink and target guy so leaning towards .177, would it take much to tune the twang out of the 95 or do they settle down as they get used?
Great video Chuck, I'm looking at the HW 77 and HW 97.. And the Luxus you have 👍👍❤️ I got the Air Arms TX200 MK3 And I went to the dark side and got the Air Arms S410 from a friend he knew I would like it.. you can shoot a bee in two with these things.. or me a head shot . 🤪🤪🤪 Both are amazing but I really want a Weihrachadoodle 👍👍🤣🤣 your right save up like I did and get something decent..I'm not made of money like a lot of guys .. one of my pals got an Redwolf gun it's like all computerized it's amazing but doesn't feel like a gun... You want a bit of , like your trying to get better and shoot better .. but one of those guns you could get anyone to shoot a bean at 30 metres . Lots of love to you all.. Im a song writer so I'm trying to fit shooting in with or passion.. without serial killers or random snipers.. 😂😂😂😂 J x
Simple, reguardless of any name and or OMG speed of a pellet. I will take any that I can shoot 1 hole in a 3x3 post it note, then my next 9 shots can go through the same hole. The HW are well known for their quality as well as years of consistent accuracy. Super job
I do like my "cheap" break barrels but I sure wished I bought one or two nice ones instead! You cannot shewt multiple rifles at a time so you better get "the right one" if you can afford it
I have aquired several rifle cases at my work place that where going to be trash. Now I take at least 3 rifles with me on my shoots. I still like my other springers and my Hatsan 95 22 came on a road 🛣️ trip with me today. I had a thought, 💭🤔 (and I pray it doesn't happen) if I had to start over because of a loss by whatever, and didn't have very much money, I would buy a Hatsan 95.
@@springpistonriflefeverlone9611I never had the chance to try an Hatsan but from what I can hear they are pretty hit or miss... Either you love it or get a bad one or hate it haha
Went shooting tonight at gun range shooting at 50 yards on bench rest i can shoot 1 ragged hole when i take my time. Average half inch or less. I don't know what kind of accuracy people get from the English air rifles like tx200. At 25 yards with bench my best have been one hole groups. Don't see how tx200 could do better.
I have put off buying the HW30/R9 for years. I keep saying next time. HW95N is one the way. Next just might be the HW35e in Walnut. Someday I will get an HW30.
I don't have the HW35, but it would be nice. I don't fully understand the question, but the HW35 has a latch lever and more hunting power than the HW30s, but both will be equally accurate. The HW30s is lighter, shorter, less powerful, but all of that is an advantage at close range plinking or pesting 🐇close to other structures.
Only reason I haven't gotten one is hearing "you need to tune it to know how good it really is". I have to tune a Crosman or Hatsan because they're cheap...
They are great right out of the box, some prefer to get rid of the spring twang. My HW's came with plenty of twang and extreme accuracy and build quality. I promise that you won't be let down after shooting a brand new HW95 Luxus.
I disagree with those who say that! Granted, a new Weihrauch does have a tendency to have a loud twang and some owners, who have the resources, might immediately toss in a tuning kit to get rid of that twang. However it is definitely not a requirement and I even dare say it is exagerated. Mind you it shoots accurately from the beginning, even with the twang. Give it a couple of hundred shots to break it in. The twang will subside and it will shoot just as nicely as if it had been tuned. I have made that experience not too long ago with my HW57.
Air arm is a little notch better i own a weihrauch k97 and air arms tx200 hc and the pro sport witch is absolutely amazing and perfect even the old cz slavia 631 is a amazing gun that was my first gun
@@springpistonriflefeverlone9611yes the cz was absolutely amazing a few weeks ago I got my weihrauch 50s I think it's the same rifle as the 30s except its a little more powerful I absolutely love this rifle you can carry it around and shoot all day long no problem what so ever and the price was also not to bad
why do they have to be jealous? use what works and what you can afford all my guns are accurate , yes I had to work on them but I Am a craftsman . also a musician with basses and guitars costing 3000to 5000 dollars my friend brought cheaper one over for me to set up tone wise It smoked my music Man G&L and Rickenbacker ,and Hamer did it look as good ? no. I also have a 1981Colt Python 6 inch royal blue , a safe queen took It to the range and my 1977 Ruger security six out shot it t I had worked on the Ruger not as much on the Python . but the Python sure is pretty the Ruger is a little homely my shooting bud also liked the Ruger better And he did buy a more expensive bass . now that he can play better , oh he has his eye on a Weihrauch .
Yey chuck .. sorry .. HW 77, HW 97 .. Or the Luxus . What you think .. whats would be your advice.. 👍✌️🤟 hear some of my songs on REVERBNATION.. under Johnny Houston.. get Chris to look it up.. im not that mental brother🤟✌️👍🤪🤪🤣🤣
Very funny 🤣 Johnny.👍 The HW77 or HW97 are going to be tank heavy, but the ergonomic's are outstanding. The HW95 Luxus also has great ergonomic's and several pounds lighter and easier to load. For all around plinking and hunting, the HW95 Luxus for my pick, but I guarantee that you won't be sorry with an HW77.
I hear you Chuck... I seen an online hunter , with the HW 97 And it was shit hot.. but I'm thinking they are all brilliant.. the Luxus is hard to find, cause the guys who have got them ain't gonna sell them 🤣🤣🤣 I don't blame them.. they are beautiful guns.. HW 98 is supposed to be good to🥰🥰🥰 😂... If it's heavy I just get my brother to carry it.. 🤣🤣🤣👍✌️🤟🤪🤪
Yeh I want an HW With the golden tricker 👍👍🤣🤣🤣 I dunno why.. everything I wear is silver. Chains, rings, pendants.. but I want a gold trigger on my HW 🤪🤪🤣🤣🤣 That's mental 🤣🤣 I wasn't kidding about the songwriter stuff Chuck.. 👍🤟✌️🥰
@@johnnyhouston9913 The 98 has the heavy bull barrel which is suppose to help in accuracy, but I prefer to have the option of open sights. Keep looking every day for used HW's and something will pop up, even a HW50s would be a very nice addition. Keep on singing. Maybe you can make some airgun music.🎶
I can remember looking at a HW55 , gosh back on the 70’s I’m thinking and instead went with a model 45 RWS. I was looking at FPS. Have now got the R-1 Beeman since the 90’s I’m thinking. But realize the one you have are really fine air rifles bar none. Great channel sir , always enjoy 👍
