Agree with his right to say what he said, and actually proud of someone that can speak their mind knowing how controversial it could be and that means other on the left or the right. What I didn’t like was him dragging someone else into it: Taylor Swift.I’m not sure he’s dissing her here or praising her here, but either way it was not appropriate at any function for an apology that he owes any apology to. If you didn’t like what he said then so be it I hear stuff all the time I don’t like, and I usually hit the thumbs down or move on.

I'm an old man. I listened to Mr. Butker's speech. I do agree with Whoopi. I think the honorable position of practicing home economist should be heightened and praised. Done properly: It is a difficult honorable life choice with wonderful rewards.

Whoopi is correct. In this country, freedom of speech allows us to express ourselves in our own way. I totally do not agree with him, it was quite demeaning to a lot of folks, though, that is the world that he chooses to live in.

So what did he say that was so demeaning. He basically said some women will see more satisfaction out of raising a family than having a great career. He did not say women should only seek that satisfaction of raising a family over a career. I bet even some women that have had a great career, but also have raised a family have gotten more satisfaction out of a good home life.

“According to a 2019 Pew Research Center study, the United States has the highest rate of children living in single-parent households in the world, with 23% of children under 18 living with one parent and no other adults.” In the African American community 7 out of 10 families are single-parent. As an African American this topic is relevant for me and should be for every American. This discussion needs to start in middle school and be further discussed in college. American families are in a crisis and don’t let the deceptive media fool you. What they did is diabolical because he never said women should stay at home. Listen to the speech and don’t let the media frame it for you.

What he basically said was that for most women, their family will be their most rewarding endeavor in life. And I don't know any mothers who will tell you otherwise. Any woman who says her job takes presidence over her family should never have given birth. And for the record, I don't know a single man who would ever say their career is more important to them than their family. I certainly wouldn't want my spouse to say his career was more important than our family. ( FYI, I know it isn't )

It’s not the same thing as Kaepernick taking a knee because Kaepernick’s conduct took place when he was “on the clock” so to speak. Butker’s comments were said in a totally private capacity. It’s honestly not the same at all.
