This is a great conversation with Richard Reeves if you're curious about some of the challenges young men face, from porn to graduation. Reeves is data-driven, open-minded, personable, and thorough, so check the time stamps to see more of what we explore.
There's few things I like more than conversations wide-ranging yet deep conversations. This is one of them. I'm so grateful to Richard for his time, eloquence, and commitment to men.

When girl was struggling in my school female teachers would always come to here and be like oh sweetie you have it tough, you are precious. When boy had problem they be like oh you are just lazy and ignorant, you will achieve nothing in life if you continue. The pressure for boys and young men especially those without many friends who could rely on is quite high. You might hear criticisms whole days from all sides and never feel fullfiled.

19:00 This is something I've noticed as well. Female biology is very...salient? It has these very tangible milestones when it comes to physical maturation. And reaching them kind of necessitates further psychological growth and skills development. I tend to break down the female life-cycle into: the Pre-menstruation period, Menstruation Act l (pregnancy avoidance years), Menstruation Act II (pregnancy years), and finally the Post-Menopausal period. Or 'Maiden, Mother, Matriarch' as Lousie Perry puts it. Obviously personal autonomy is still a significant factor in how things shake out but its kind of interesting that our biology in some sense helps guides us and transitions us into different seasons of life. I dont think there's really a male equivalent. Maybe thats why so many cultures have had 'coming of age' ceremony/rituals for boys? Maybe they saw a need for some kind of structure that just didn't occur naturally? Specific ones that come to mind are Bar Mitzvahs, Indian "sacred thread" ceremonies, and Breeching ceremonies in 18th/19th century Europe. Great interview by the way.

Indifference does not have a gender of male nor female. Indifferent attitudes makes events like Tuesday September 11, 2001 and Sunday December 7, 1941

College isn’t for everyone, I literally know tons of people who went into the trades-carpenter, airplane maintenance, plumber, electrician and construction mangement after a 5 year apprenticeship and couple years in their field there easily bringing in triple digits per year and lastly think bill gates and steve jobs they both attended college but never finished bill gates was the richest man at one point in world and Steve jobs was up there there with billions of $.

Conner I think you have done a better job with the interview, this is my third time watching it (And I have watched almost every interview Richard) has done, and maybe this is the worst, at the this point. This is simply feedback, I do not hate you " or do not like you " -- Heck I'm subbed and it is sad, that I have to make that clear. But the main point, I think there is a way more productive question and a conversation to be had. You simply touched the surface of many topics, yet if you touched two topics for example in depth with each like 20 mins, that might have been a better way to go about it. I would say, watch Chris W. and his interview, it is the same time, yet way more valuable information wise. Or the progress network interview as well, that is a good example to follow.

Valid feedback and its always welcome. I love Richards work and he will be coming back on as you're right - I only scratched the surface. Would you be open to sharing some of the questions / topics you'd ask him or think I should dig into? Sounds like you've done some serious research.
