One of the biggest reasons why some men don't approach women is because they don't believe the woman would be interested in them. Women do not give off very positive vibes when they're playing hard to get. It's a massive turn off to me personally.

Ok so I’m 17 years old in highschool and my entire life people have been telling me stop being so shy and blah blah blah like I’m not shy.I just never knew how to go about asking out women people tell me all the time “wHy nOt jUsT gO tAlK tO hEr?” The reason I Don’t is because no women ever just came up and talked/flirted with me.I feel like boys/men shouldn’t always be the ones to ask girls/women out ya know? Men, do not hesitate for one moment to put a restraining order against your female partner if you feel your safety and health is in jeopardy. Generally speaking: When it comes to dating, women have the “Privilege” of being Shy. Men do not. Women have the “Privilege” of not facing rejection. Men do not. Hi, heterosexual male here. I've approached women my whole life. That's how i was raised where I'm from and how society as whole as far as movies and social gatherings seemed to make it that way as well. As of late though, I'm 27. I've used dating apps and approached women in real life as well and find I'm being rejected more. And after awhile that starts to really hurt. Like bad. To the point where you feel worthless. I mean I try so hard to like look nice and just groom myself and take care of myself and you know being turned down here and there isn't so bad but, idk it'd be nice to have the roles reversed. End sexism and traditional ways. I'm for women approaching men as well. If they feel comfortable to do so. Another reason I won't approach women as much anymore bc right away if I feel at all from their body language that they are uncomfortable or want to be left alone immediately I feel bad about myself and it makes me not want to approach again. Or, I'll say in my head "oh they're very pretty a bunch of guys have been bothering them, they are out with friends, it's too embarrassing to get rejected in front of everyone" these are all things that will run through my head and stop me from approaching women.

I approached guys a lot of times and they ran scared like I had an aids or something. If you approach them they think that you have no options therefore there is something wrong with you.

I'm getting to the point in my life where I think I have to start accepting the simple fact that I will be single for the rest of my life. I'm 30 something, been single for waaaay too long, and I feel like I don't even understand what women want anymore. I've been told pretty much my whole life that I was good looking and sometimes I catch women (and the occasional dude) staring at me, so I don't think my looks are the issue here. But in the rare event that I actually decide to approach a girl I don't know and try to make a simple greeting or gesture of kindness to show that I like them, they act like they don't even want to be in the same room with me or I'm like inconveniencing them or something. A little bit of background. I'm not in school or any clubs, I just work a job so I don't get out much, and most of my friends have moved away. I'm going back to college this year, so I can only hope I'll meet somebody there... but I'm not very optimistic. Also I live in MA, if that helps. If anybody has actually taken the time to read my whining and complaining, do any of you have any suggestions? I don't get it because I see girls looking at me once in a while but they never, ever do anything besides that. I don't want to approach another one and get treated like an alien because I'm already struggling with self esteem issues as it is. I don't want to die alone. I want to fall in love and be happy again. What the hell am I supposed to do?

I'd say just dont reject so damn hard when we do the approaching. Learn some tact. If a guy seems intimidated when you do the approaching as a woman, its only because hes not used to it and doesnt know how to react.....because women dont usually do much of the chasing. Depending on the level and frequency of rejection hes experienced with approaching women in his life.... he may just think its a game youre playing with him at that point and that your approach doesnt mean anything more than a friendly conversation not meant to go anywhere. Women seem to say they want men who are sensitive (who show emotion) but when it comes to why they don't approach men, they basically say that men don't have emotions. This video really sums up the pathetic attitude of many women towards relations between the sexes - there is no "historical", "biological", "traditional", "role-based" or any other reason why women shouldn't approach men (and also take the initiative on kissing, cuddling, and more). It is a lazy cop-out and it probably means that many women will probably end up with less than ideal partners because they have to settle for whoever approaches them (whereas the ideal partner may expect them to make a move, or otherwise just pass them by). I was raised very feminist by a business owning mother who raised me not to think neither male or female was better but everyone should be fair... If you like someone then ask them out, if the world thinks you are easy or desperate then move on and find someone better.
