In my opinion, those stock sl wheels look nice. The new ones you have look terrible just in general, on either car.

That is the universe telling you to not put those wheels on a S-Class. But the TSWs look great on the SL

to get the wheels to work on your w220 you just need disk spacers, if you tried to go foward or reverse and it wouldn't go no where that would fix your problem! and to get the front wheels of your sl get a breaker bar or a pipe

Big ass breaker bar on the wheel will definitely take care of the stuck bolts. I have to use a 6' bar every time I swap my winter tires, especially on my non-drive wheels.

I've had the same issue with the lug bolts being seized on the hub on my w221. I ended up using a cheater bar to free the lugs but when the lugs were removed the wheel was still stuck in place on the hug as if glued on. I ended up lowering the car with no lugs slowly until the weight of the car broke the wheel lose. I hope the SL doesn't give you too much of a fight but thought I'd pass my experience along...Happy Wrenching!

were the rear tires sticking out that much? it didn't look all that bad...

put the sl wheels on the s500 and put the tsw on the sl

that's fine. the off set is on the ins8de 9f the rim. s63/s65 rims do stick out slightly. of ask a machine shop to mill the off set down a bit to fit. oh and always copper grease your wheel bolts. Mercedes wheels often seeze on the hub too. have to losen wheel bolts half a turn or so roll on and off the drive and they work loose. happened on my e-class put a tin smear of copper grease on the back of the wheels and hub when refitted. only use copper grease as wont melt and get in the brakes.

Hmmm... It is not exactly nice to get right here, but I remember my reaction under the 'I bought new wheels with one big problem' vid. Let me quote it here: "with one big problem" The size is wrong, wrecking the ride quality The wheels are knock offs, both illegal and inferior The lug bolts are the wrong size The tires are different from each other One wheel is cracked. So, apart from the rims, the tires and the lug bolts, everything is fine. That is: the valve caps are nice. Apparently I missed one: The rims have the wrong ET-value. That makes 6 (six!) inexcusable problems on one set of wheels. What are you doing to the poor S500?! You might just as well hammer out those fenders, to ruin this class ride even more.

SL deserves those rims. And switching the ones from SL to the S would be personal preference to you. Good luck!

Those wheels look sick on the AMG. Would totally run them on the AMG and throw on the 18's on the S Class temporarliy.

had the same issue...try to find a reputable shop that does backpad shaving. they can knock off 4mm-5mm safely, ive done it. As long as the rear back pad has enough "meat" on it, it wont compromise the wheel.

Not my favorite wheels, but without an air compressor, a good long galvanized steel pipe can help seized lug bolts come loose (after sitting in penetrating oil for a while, of course).

Wheels are a matter of personal taste, in any case, just visit your local tire store and have them Loosen the Lugnuts ... problem solved.. great channeL !

The wheels look good on both vehicles! You're going for the staggered look on the S class so why is it a problem if the rears are a little outside the wheel wells. They look sporty to me.

Put on oem cls55 19" wheels on. They are concave will look good on both cars.

These wheels were also avaliable for the SL55. The SL65 version of this wheel was avaliable in a darker finish (at least optional).

Try a torque multiplier for your seized lug bolts, it works very well.

never buy fake wheels. I learnt the hard way when the rims shattered after hitting a pot hole

Hi, I'm Tavarish and today I cannot remove the wheels from my $8500 SL55.............. because it's fucked!!

People saying this video isn't worth an upload, at least he is trying to include the audience in the decisions that he is not sure about and getting opinions based on us. I agree with many people here saying that he should install the TSW's on the SL55 and trying to see how the SL wheels look on the S class. i believe they should look great, and if he doesn't like it he can still upgrade them later on.

Put the wheels on the Sl55. they look so good on there.

Get Lorinser LM1's for the S-Class. You might thing they're ugly initially, but they really work with the Mercedes body lines.

The stock wheels on the SL look awesome, just get them powder coated a different color. I personally like the wide look of the new rims on the S500.

it looks like the gap to fill isn't that much .. you could wide body the daily? or try to roll the fenders see if that might work? I think the rims look better on the s class instead of the SL

If you really like the wheels for the S klasse , take them to a machine shop and see if they can shave 5mm or 10mm off so the wheel sit a bit further in. However, they do look better on the SL imo

some nice BBS 3-piece or some centerline convo pros. dont forget the tps sensors. Hot! Try phoenix at 118 degrees. the water will dry before you wipe it off. its a dry heat....

I like how you also post when things don't work. I'd sell the wheels and look for other options.

The stock wheels of the SL55 are perfect, buy whatever you want and put into the S-Class...

Well I think those replicas look great and I think they'll look good on either car. But I think put those on the s500 because I had a 2003 s55 and It won't look the same in my eyes. As for sl55 get the tinted s65 rims or anything Amg 5 spoke will make it look awesome. Good luck brother Benz is king

I've never been a fan of the OEM wheels on the SL... Lorinser LM6 are drop dead gorgeous on there. Hell throw them on the S as well

Lol those "fake" wheels are in my opinion some of the best looking Mercedes AMG style wheels. Both cars look very nice with them. The SL wheels are nice too. I guess it's interesting to see other people's opinions but at the end of the day it's your car so do what you want. The wheels look really nice on the S class now! And the car looks great in blue! Need to get new updated turn signals for the mirrors.

Now why not try the SL55 wheels on the S-class? Give them a good clean first.

Paint the new rims black and plu them on the vert, looked good plus I hate those turbine style wheels. Buy some real rims for the S500 and of course hopefully black. Dude, I've been watching awhile and can you finish at least one project?

Just a tip, why don't you commentate over the time lapses instead of yapping on with having little to watch? Many people skip the time lapses and also skip the constant yapping, leaving the viewer unsatisfied. Talking over the time lapses will not only keep the viewer focused but also minimise the amount of information you need to say live. also keeping the video compressed by fitting as much information as possible in a set time limit (e.g. 10 min using quick-ish cuts etc) will keep the viewer watching. Another tip; people want to see what's going on (the cars) and not your face, it gets boring haha Anyway I hope you take this advise, I see great potential. it's a lot harder work yes, but it's all worth it and the people will love it

you could always try replacing the tires and getting some that gets a little bit of stretch? not much but just enough so its level with the wheelarc?

I know you hate those wheels on your amg, but damn those look good to me, they remind me of Alpina wheels and that seems to be a good thing.

I would want to hate this guy's lack of direction too. But you would be stupid if you can't see that the sheepish smile on his face clearly depicts it all being a part of his script (I hope). thats an incredible whee/tire set for the SL...dont even think of getting anything else. they look tough but refined at the same time, kind of a rarity these days. prob forged and light weight too...Order a chicken dinner, cuz they are a Winner Winner!

To crack the front lugs use that braker bar with a pipe that’s longer that the braker bar then push or pull using wd40 on the lug nuts.

Widestar body kit from Brabus would probably cure the problem as the Wheels and tyres for the Brabus S class are wider anyway than the AMG ones, if I remember correctly

The OEM AMG wheels have Autobahn written all over them! Save those or get one inch taller wheel. (19" to a 20")

Hey Tavarish, did you install a facelift hood on S? I own W220 S with AMG pack too and film more videos on these cars. It's my fav S Class generation.

In my opinion you should install those TSW's on the coupe and use the wheels of the coupe for the sedan.

I like the way the original sl's wheels looks, they have this conservative expensive look. I don't think a daily drivers car needs low profile wheels because of the comfyness you'll lose.

Just wanna say I've been watching your channel since the 3000GT videos, really enjoying your Mercedes series. I wish I was as mechanically inclined as you but I have learned to live within my limitations lol. Keep up the great work and good luck with your wheel scenario. Personally I think they look best on the S but buying new 265 tires may not work to your liking either, which means you've sunk $ into them and they still don't work right. Seems as though the 9" rears are just a bit too big for the S. I'm sure you'll figure it out. Take care.

im pretty sure most all wheels have size width and offset stamped on the back of the spokes or wheel

Ebay has a tone of good quality new AMG replica wheels with various offset options. I had to replace one of my BMW M Wheel and was able to get a set of replica wheels that matched my OEM wheel for $600 that for four wheels. Even the weight matched the OEM wheel. So now I have spare wheels for the future.

I have a 2002 Mercedes Slk 32 amg Hey even amg wheels can crack and warp out of round That's why i like the riveted 3 piece amg ones - more strength in construction I got 17 in 3 piece staggered riveted amg ones now - no more cracking or warping

offset is stamped on the inside of wheel so easy to make sure you buy correct size wheels

you should try to roll out your fenders to accommodate the extra tire poke

Get the 65's and put them on the S Class, and find different wheels for the SL55, there are much better wheels out the for this car. I know it's OTT but the SLR wheels have always been my favourite for the Sl Class.

Leave the stock wheels on the SL! Those TSWs make it look really cheap. They fit the S500 better.

I'm surprised you didn't consider the offset... Go for some factory period correct wheels, like off a 2000 E55 AMG

I'm running 275 35 19 on the rear of my s430, I wouldn't put 265's on there, 275 should be fine, go to a tire shop and try on different tires and see what works for you. Keep the sl wheels on the sl, but tbh I don't trust any off brand rep wheels, especially on a 4000 pound car

Try a new tire on the new(used) rim just to see if it fits before doing all of them. They look much better on the Ultimate Daily Driver.

You should keep those wide wheels on the s500 like the hot rod diesel truck guys do.

Damn potholes are hell on big wheels w low profile tires.

No offense, but those new wheels look like cheap aftermarket wheels. The SL original wheels are fantastic. I can't understand why you don't like them; they look way better.

Use a pipe on the rench, make it longer and easyer to take the bolts

I'll take those stock wheels that are on your SL. I have a C55 that would look stellar with them.

yea them wheel lugs always do that, I've broken a couple breaker bars trying to free them up.

ROLL THE fenders on the S500 to make it wider, everything looks better wider.

the tsw's are fine for the s500 , maybe get them sprayed a bit darker, the SL whells are fine, the dish of the tsw's doesn't suit the lines

should ditch the s class as your daily and buy my black '03 E55 to go with your sl55. 150k miles and has random "brake malfunctions" while driving. Would like to sell as is rather than go through trouble of getting fixed by the dealer. I'm in PA.

the SL wheels are best maching with the looks of the dinamics of the car to me. and how come you have a lift and not having even cheap air gun. thats sign not to remove the sl wheels

Keep the TSW on the sl55 and put the sl55 wheels on the s500 I've seen them fit on w220 and looks decent but I would defiantly keep the TSW amg reps on the sl
