Hey, Trevor here is a little laugh for you. I watched that video and laughed when I saw the truck stuck in the middle of the swamp. First, I was involved in the transportation and movement of baled hay in Calif, Wa, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, and Arizona for sixty years. I started when I was 14 working with my dad unloading hay trucks in the Los Angeles area with the hay boom I am now 81. I ran a boom for several years in Imperial Valley. To make a long story short you will not believe how many times I have had similar experiences with new drivers. You are lucky he was not one of those guys who love to spin their wheels, make a mess, get all jackknifed, and then dump the load in the water. There is more!! After watching the video for a few minutes my phone rings. I see it is my friend in Blythe Dave Shafer ( He has a couple of squeezes in Blythe) we have worked together a lot. He is laughing, I ask why he said I was just watching Bales on RU-vid I said yeah I just saw it myself. We got a big kick out of it at your expense and shared some of our experiences in the past. I have one about Bobby Ging. Thanks for sharing it goes a long way.

Oh man!! You were in the hay business before there was a hay market!! Man I bet you guys have some crazy stories! Bobby Ging? There is a Gingg family here. I married one! I wonder if they are related. They came from CA as dairyman.

@@BalesHayFarmandRanch From people I have talked to say it's possible. I wasn't sure of the spelling. I think he still lives in Chino CA. Bobby Drove for Loubet Hay Co. You might think the hay market was small then but no it was pretty large. We are talking Artisa, dairyland and dairyvalley southeastern LA County. There were a lot of dairies located there before the developers moved in much like what is happening in your area. Then most of them moved to Chino,CA samething. Now they are scattered all over. I drove through Buckeye a couple of months ago I could not believe what was going on there all the way to Surprise and beyond. It was on a Sunday.

@@ahhadon59 "Dairy Valley" -- that's history that probably "no one" would believe nowadays. Wow, I'll have to learn the history of "Dairyland" and revisit that of Dairy Valley (Artesia, Bellflower, Cerritos, Lakewood, and ?) on the web for the next couple of days. Thanks for rattling those late-70's memories of when we lived in CA -- Park St. in Cerritos, Valley Christian Jr. High, my paper route, the Jr college, the unincorporated strip of small houses that still intrigues me, the reservoir/tank being built, the riverbed, etc (we were transferred back to the Chicago-Milwaukee corridor/area after that).

I’m a driver and there are guys that think that every inch of ground is ok to drive on and don’t look or use uncommon sense. Lucky he was only in the grease not the deep stuff. Your lucky your just rain and mud. I woke up to a foot of wet icy snow 2 days ago. Good luck with your squeeze’s and hay sales.

Your are very good at blaming your drivers yet you walk past the loader supported by a jack with a extension that is very close to slipping off. Was the driver driving in the dark in a unfamiliar yard it looks like he was keeping to the centre for his swing out onto the main road. But hey at your main entrance did it ever occur to you to fill that depression in with gravel hell you could have put 4 star droppers one on each corner and put some of that orange bunting on a string. Take responsibility for the poor design of your yard then take a visit to a well designed and signposted yard to see how it is done.
@BalesHayFarmandRanch
@BalesHayFarmandRanch Год назад
Bahahaha. I love stupid comments like this. It cracks me up how, someone that hasn’t actually seen my place says that. The depression is there for the water to pond. Just a few feet away it’s higher with lots and lots of tracks. I don’t care how unfamiliar you are. There is something called using you head. And if someone doesn’t use it, I’m going to say something. I have one of the very few yard in the area you can load out of during a rain. This driver, not one of my drivers, wasn’t using his head and went right to the puddle, instead of the obvious dry area. So I blame you for the bad comment and being a mr know it all.

@johnsmith9161
@johnsmith9161 Год назад
@@BalesHayFarmandRanch I have probably delivered to 500 yards and I have never seen someone deliberately design a yard so a pond forms in the middle usually they have a fall in the yard so the water collects on the outside.Where possible they also have drainage ditches for the water to drain away but not you it has to be in the middle.
@BalesHayFarmandRanch
@BalesHayFarmandRanch Год назад
@@johnsmith9161 like I said. You’ve never seen my barns. It’s definitely not in the middle. It’s at the end of one barn. Lots and lots of space to go around. Also, weird, only one truck got stuck this year with record rain. Like most negative comments. Someone who has never been to my farm.
