Why You Can't Skip This Step When Working on Suspension!

Whenever you're installing a part underneath your car, you typically lift the car up, remove the wheels, loosen the necessary parts, install the new one, then tighten everything back down, and then lower the car back down. However, on certain components on S550s and S650s and many other vehicles, the bushings are physically bonded to the sleeve, preventing movement. If you want your suspension to be riding properly and at the correct ride height, then you can't skip out on this step when working on your suspension.

Great explanation! What about your spherical front tension bearings? do they need to be torqued at ride height aswell or are they free moving just like the other bearings?

All of our spherical bearings are free moving like our Toe Link, so no need to torque at ride height!

Not enough lift clearance to swing a big torque lever.

If you need more clearance, the car could be on ramps or blocks/wheel cribs. Make sure that the ramps and the car are secure. You just want to torque it with the suspension under load from the body of the car.
