I think anyone from an immigrant family especially first generation relates. The Ass whooping in the changing room was a classic. My mom spoke no English so it was exactly the same but all in Spanish 😂
This was one the most funniest of stand-ups I've ever seen man! I'm sure most ethnicities can relate but if you're hispanic you definitely can relate 😂😂😂
OMG! It is like watching my Hispanic mom on stage! She use to say "move your hand!" and say all the same things George was saying. Bad flash backs. Man, the days of the chonkla. I don't miss those.
I love this! Probably because it brings back memories. I may not be Mexican (I'm African American), but my mom certainly dragged me into the dressing room or car a few times. "Baby, let's go try on this skirt in the dressing room." Even with a childhood like that I loved every minute of it and laugh over these kind of memories.
I swear - this guy cracks me up! EVERYTHING he says is my childhood.. The funny thing is that it's coming from the mexican american perspective.. Not american nor mexican.. just us kids who grew up here with parents who immigrated here relate to it all.. awesomeness.
But we actually do. If you ask most Latin@s we remember our childhood really fondly, as very happy times, even if we dealt with "tough love" like this. You felt very loved and never neglected. We don't have any issues with showing our emotions, both positive and negative, and you always felt loved.
George Lopez present the very harsch-emotionally detached upbringing of his full time job migrant grandmother. But Mexican grandmothers and mothers are hardly like that. Only some when they get upset back in day. He never talks about the loving, nurishing of all female relatives, because maybe he did not experience that or is not good for his act. Quite sad.
You think George got hit bad? Mick, my Irish mother hit with one hand holding a rosemary in the other. And she yelled move your hand! 1:55. Grandmother would twist my ear in church."Boy, I said put the money on the plate," she once said through clinched teeth.
I'm a Black American man who loves this Mexican American man's comedy. We Are America. All of us! Thank you Mr. Lopez for sharing some of your life with us.....and being funny as hell doing it!!
Lopez NAILED IT. Move your hand! Move your hand! My sister and I use to do that to stop the spanking! Hahaha Same with the Roman meal and weenies. My grandma always called hot dog weenies.
i missed the beatings my father used to give me..i deserved each one..and still do..nothing says "i love you" more than a punch in the face.. I MISS YOU 'PA!! :'( R.I.P
This sounds weird, but I'm so glad my parents beat me when I was stepping out of line. As a kid I hated them with a passion for doing that, but as an adult I thank them for not letting me become one of those spoiled bratty kids that we see all around us these days.
@@tomlund4951 you can’t relate boi Latino experience right here 💪🏽💪🏽 I appreciate all the ass whoopings I got from my parents, they made me the man I am today
Birthday party? No que birthday party! YOU SAW 'EM? YOU SAW 'EM? HAPPY BIRTHDAY! YOU SAW 'EM?? and for some reason, the "courtney, you get in the car!" cracks me up everyyy time.
I was just bonding with someone who grew up in an Asian house hold, and how similar our experiences were with me having grown up in a Mexican house hold. It was nice 😂
I agree with you memodeh, I'm Mexican, living in Ireland right now, and I don't find it offensive at all. I think he's pretty funny. That "Happy birthday, you saw him?!!" part is awesome. Regards.
Man...used to get the belt , broom, whatever was closest to my dad when he was is in his chair. My least favorite was the damn cold shower...made me the man I am today
