Aventurine's lightcone has been a big talking point in the few days before his release. It's a very good light cone, that boosts his own personal damage quite a lot. In a team environment though, most of the time, his personal damage is not really coming close to well-invested DPS units.
There are also a lot of F2P friendly lightcones that you might already have that are close enough.

Commenting again to clear up some confusion about the debuff. Yes his follow-up is 7 hits so the debuff is basically 100%, but correct me if I'm wrong, but its not 7 hits per target. This means in AOE some enemies may only get hit once or twice, which is when the debuff won't apply all the time. It’s not a huge deal, but it is worth mentioning. Of course if his Follow-Up is 7 hits per target, I'm completely wrong and you can ignore everything I just said lol. Also at 07:14 some people are missing that i do mention the debuff. The reason I didn't add straight 10% in my made-up example is because of inconsistency in AOE and I'm unsure if Kazjire accounted for it already in the 33%, so i decided to just mention it afterwards. The example is also completely made-up, I only used it to explain a concept I was talking about, don’t take the actual numbers too seriously. when it is an Aoe the chance that at least one enemy will get the debuff is 99,8%. it's not about every enemy getting the debuff. it's about applying the debuff ONCE within 7 hits.. i suck at math but i think even applying it twice within 7 hits has still a chance of 98% and applying it 3 times is about 90%.. hitting all 7 debuffs would have a 2.8% chance... so yeah if you really want to 100% apply the debuff with each of the 7 hits of his FUA you need EHR, if you just want to make sure to apply the debuff at least once within 7 hits you don't need EHR

@@crappiefisher1331 in an AOE fight you would want to apply it as much as you can since it increases dmg. I’m not saying you should build EHR, its just one issue with the LC. Obviously getting 1-2 debuff in 7 hits is basically guarantee, but you can’t control who it goes on which makes it only ideal if you’re just talking about ult stacking with Acheron. @@natsan18 i see what you are saying, but i guess we agree that it probably isn't worth it going for EHR if you have to sacrifice def or crit stats because of it. if you are blessed by the gacha gods and roll insane stats on your gear go for it otherwise EHR has low priority even with his LC and to be honest: i don't think his LC is worth it at all.. if my fire trailblazer with his tiny shields is enough to keep me alive while using the "trend" LC for acheron i am quite sure aventurine will be able to do it as well when equipping "trend" or "moment of vitory" and to me his DMG simply does not look big enough to justify 80 pulls on his LC and maybe even lose the 75/25 ;)

The taunt is still great for Aventurine since he has CC resist guaranteed compared to other teammates. You would want Aventurine to be the one getting hit or CCed, ideally.

Since a lot of people seem to comment just based on title/thumbnail, Aventurine's lightcone is a pretty decent investment, and its insanely good especially if you want increase his own damage. If you've been planning to get it, and you really want to give Aventurine the best, don't let my dumbass persuade you otherwise. all he's saying is that the f2p options are respectable. it's not a Must Pull if that's something you're anxious about. I'm getting to 4k pretty easily and am looking at 60/138 with def def def def. Characters like Ruinme and Sparkle have lightcones which are much better for team dps, consider them

you don't need 67% EHR on aventurine to hit his LC's debuff, you need 0% EHR. a 1 hit attack with his LC and 0% EHR already has a 60% chance to debuff max level enemies.. it being a 7 hit attack brings it to 99.8% chance to apply the debuff without any EHR at all.. so yeah, with his LC aventurine's fua WILL apply his debuff VERY consistently.. so pls don't build EHR on him when you go for his LC..pls in case someone does not believe it: there is a EHR calculator out there for HSR and if you don't trust that calculator you can google for "chance calculator". if you have something with a 60% chance to hit and you have 7 tries then there is a 99.8% chance to succeed...

btw, this assumes the enemy has 40% effect res, if the enemy has 55% effect res - which seems to be the highest atm - the chance to apply the debuff with a 7 hit fua is still at 98.5% without any EHR on aventurine.. and in case you wonder why i made a second comment: for some reason my comments keep disappearing and hence i am a little worried editing a post if i finally get it to stick

Personally I think it's more satisfying to play with characters I like, over characters that are strong, but I have no connection to.

I think if you're getting Aventurine to fill a similar role to Gepard or Fu Xuan (Team face tanking bosses and doing Swarm Disaster/Gold and Gears) then you don't need his Light Cone. BUT if you're getting him for Acheron or for a FuA team I think pulling his Light Cone is one of the best things you could do for your account. It's on par with Acheron Light Cone for how much it upgrades the character and is a better investment than Eidolons.

His LC is certainly a funny one, considering how building Aventurine can go two ways. I consider the damage side of his kit more of a little bonus than a must-invest. Personally interested to see shield-bot aven vs. sub-dps aven builds show up in the coming days after his banner.

The CN guides put it best. If you are a f2p or low spender ask yourself. Is pulling aventurine signature lightcone going to provide more dps then getting your main dps edlions or own signautre light cone. The answer is no. Every pull of his light is another entire character or any other sig LC worth of jades. Save it for something more universal like Jingyuan, Argenti' Selee light cone. Also another based and banger video from you, keep up the good work. Ps. Im fairly certain the debuff from his sig lc his hit count based as it comes from follow up attacks specfically. So it actually 100 chance 7 times.

I will use Aventurine in an Acheron team with BS Kafka(or Pela and Welt) and Dr Ratio alongside Topaz (will pull for her in the next patch). I have ToUM which is usefull for both of the teams. I have 600 starlight for 1 shop purchase and I am at 60 pity rate on the weapon banner, I will have @180 total pulls at the end of 2.2 phase 1 banner (where Topaz is supposed to rerun). What would be more beneficial in general? 1. Get his LC now, to be even more usefull than ToUM in both of the teams but only get E0 Topaz in the next banner, and buy Sleep like the dead for her? 2. Use ToUM on Aventurine and get E1 Topaz and buy Sleep like the Dead. 3. Keep using ToUM and buy MoV as alternative(maybe to also be used on SU) and get E0S1 Topaz? P.S I am actually more concerned about charging Acheron Ulti faster and applying more debuffs for Ratio rather than actual damage numbers

1:43 haven’t finished the vid (well, duh) but pointing out that the debuff triggers on *each hit* and Aven has 7 hits on his fua, so applying it with his FUA is a lot more consistent than you’d think. Still, I wish there wasn’t an EHR thing in there. It just seems rlly unnecessary…and also crushes the dream of March mains lmao. If I had to guess tho, most LC which apply a debuff has a built in EHR. I’m guessing that it’s something hard coded into debuffs in the game, so unfortunately there’s not much getting around it.

I wouldn't pull for Luocha Lightcone either, for a similar reason. Their sustain is already insane even with many 4-star Lightcones, and if you really NEED more sustain or damage, then you better invest in another character instead.

Hmm I think Aventurine's Light Cone is a bit different. It gives 40% DEF which lets him get to the 4000 DEF threshold with a larger variety of builds compared to 4* options, it's the only Preservation LC that gives the offensive stat he wants (Crit Damage) and it proactively applies a debuff which gives him synergy with Acheron and improves his synergy with Dr. Ratio. Concert for Two is good for DPS, Day One of My New Life is good for tank/supportive role, and Trend is good for Acheron synergy, but no Light Cone does what his signature does for him. Where as with Luocha LC there are 4* Light Cones that restore energy and increase healing, it's only unique benefit being the SPD increase for allies which can be acquired from other units. Nothing can really replace Aventurine signature, it's similar to Acheron signature in that respect where it changes how the character is played and affects their power level a lot. I think it's one of the actually REALLY worth it Light Cones if you're picking him up, especially if you have Acheron.

@@muchluck7981 Sort of, the signature gives all the benefits of the F2P options combined, but each individual benefit is larger than the singular benefit the F2P gives. 40% DEF is way more defensive value than any 4* LC (and boosts his damage too), 40% Crit Damage (alongside the extra DEF%) is more overall damage than the 32% damage from S5 Concert for Two, and the debuff the LC applies is more consistent than Trend and provides more team damage than the DoT Trend would do. It's also better to low spenders or F2P that saved for him over trying to get S5 of a 4* Light Cone, and your relics don't have to be nearly as good do build him optimally. So it's more than just being an all-rounder LC and moreso having insanely inflated and specialized stats and being a huge QoL boost for the character compared to something like Jingliu LC for example, which while being her BiS, just gives damage and doesn't change the way the character works or is built.

Hello, Im a completely new player to hsr (equalibrium 4) and I'm not sure whos best for my acc. I started because of acheron and got her with roughly 100 pulls for the next banner. I have problem building around Acheron and Dr Ratio because the share the same teamates (bot really love my pela) and I don't have silver wolf or sparkle to counteract. If I get Jingliu, she'll already have a team that leave out characters for my Acheron team on the other side. With that all being said, I think that Adventurin will still have great value for my acc. He can auto sustain easy and I can try some hypercarry team with no debuffs (maybe). For an overview, I have: Acheron, Bronya, Dr Ratio, Tingyun, Pela, Guinaifen, Gallagher, Lynx. That's all. If someone read all this and have any ideas plz reply. Thanks!

Honestly id go for 1st team: Acheron, Guina, Pela, Gallagher 2nd team: Ratio, Bronya, Lynx, Tingyun Id change Lynx for Aventurine. Pela is better for acheron especially if shes e6 (i dont have acheron so i may be wrong) You should find a better substitute for guina tho (a nihility for acheron talent/passive unless its e2 which only needs 1 nihility)

@@Stakxed Thanks for the input. I think a Ratio hypercarry team works well enough but not having any debuff just take away so much from his kit and that kinna bothers me. All he needs is 1 pela but acheron probably need her more so yeah.... About Guinaifen, I just started 2 weeks ago so no silver wolf no nothing, Gui works great anyways

Its a hard decision on your acc tbh. Aventurine is gonna make your gameplay much more comfortable and he provides a debuff (I think) on his ult for some supportive utility, and since he's a sustain, that means you'll only need 1 more sustain to get for the other side. HOWEVER, your Ratio or Acheron will still struggle with teams cause, as you said, they both want pela. I dont know what type of build he's gonna have, but as Natsan and other creators said, he'll most likely be building some crits cause of the passive that gives him free CRIT Rate like Jingliu based on his DEF. Cause of the free CRIT's, building will most likely be easier. Jingliu on the other hand, is a really strong DPS. Since you have bronya, Jingliu will take more turns to enter her enhanced state quicker for more DMG. However, she is a CRIT DPS, though farming her is a bit easier cause (Just like Aventurine) she gets 50% crit rate for free in her enhanced state. As you said, having a Jingliu will fix your team problem with Acheron since Jingliu can use both Bronya and Tingyun, making your Pela and Guinaifen free for Acheron. Also, be careful of using Lynx with Jingliu, she'll increase the taunt value of Destruction and Preservation units making Jingliu get more energy BUT has a higher chance of dying. In my PERSONAL opinion, I'd probably lean more towards Jingliu cause she fix's Acheron's team AND that means you'll have 2 really strong DPS's in your acc. But your lack of a limited sustain will make hard content even harder. My acc doesn't have a limited sustain (cause i just love DPS's xD) but from MY experience, having 2 strong DPS's helped me clear up to MoC 11 with Jingliu and Kafka, and cleared the previous MoC 12 with Jingliu and Acheron (but it did took a lot of resets and invested on my supports like Ruan Mei). Lastly, everyone is entitled to pull and play whoever they want, so dont let my opinion stop you from pulling Aventurine if you badly want him. Those are just my opinions though, I recommend to ask more players and their opinions as well cause they might say something that I haven't said, or make better reasons on who to choose.

I actually prefer Jingliu when it comes to character and design (Aventurine have great lore but still) so I think I'll try for her first. I'm really early game so 5* sustain isn't top priority rn. I have roughly 130 pulls so I'll definitely try for both if possible. Again, thanks alot!

I think with his lc you can more comfortably run 2 def pieces and lets say cdmg body and imaginary dmg sphere which will probably increase his damage more. Without it i belive you need to run 3 def pieces to reach 4k. Might be in the wrong tho correct me if im wrong.

You're correct. But when theorycrafters like Kazjire who I mentioned in the vid, do calcs comparing lightcones they normally account for this. i.e when he did F2P lc calcs, he would've either had def body or assigned a lot more substats to def% instead of crit also i'm unsure if you can comfortably hit 4000 def, with both img orb and cdmg body. With only 1, you definitely can.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm pulling for him and his LC (74 pity on char banner with 146 pulls). If I do get both I'll try to make a comparison between full def, 3 def and 2 def (all with good substats), since I prefarmed everything for him and got some switch pieces. I'll post my results here.

Update, I got both him and his lc. I reached 4.3k def with only 2 pieces, you get 3k def without relics (with his sig). I'll test out his dmg soon. Edit 1: 65k dmg nuke with his ult (Ruan mei skill and ult, nothing else), 25-33k follow up. The enemies did not have imaginary weakness

7:00 you forgor to add the vulnerability from the LC, with the Vulnerability it would be a 11.8% team damage increase. The LC having a base chance is not that negative, it will apply the debuff more oftenly than your 70CR DPS will crit. Math bellow V Since if a enemy has 32% effect Res(90% of MoC enemies) and the FuA hits the enemy 3x(it will hit more times over 2 enemy turns) the real chance of applying the debuff is around 96.72%.( =BINOM.DIST.RANGE(3;68%;1;3) on googlesheets/excel will give that results) Now for node two which usualy is only one boss, but 90% of the bosses have 40% effect Res, in that situation the chance of Aventurine applying the LC debuff tends to 100%, because the enemy will be hit 7x by the FuA, but keeping the 3 hits margin, there is a 93.6% chance of applying Aventurine debuff to bosses like Cocolia.( =BINOM.DIST.RANGE(3;60%;1;3) on googlesheets/excel will give that results).

The reason Aventurine LC is mid is not because it's a bad LC, because it is the most insane LC for the role(Sustainer) since it's the only LC that actually increases your team damage by a decent amount(Fu Xuan 9% damage boost in the end is way lower than a 9% dps increase because of buffs saturation, the same goes for Hh Signature), the reason why Aventurine S1 is mid is because sustainers lightcones are mid and unecessary.

Damn i appreciate you figuring out all the numbers 😅. I did actually mention the debuff right after at 07:12. Don’t take my example to seriously, I was just using it as an example to explain how Aven dps ≠ team dps.

Dude, his lightcone is a debuff in the same way Topaz's LC is. (Which is S+ Tier btw) The difference in numbers is completely wrong at 6:50 You forgot to add the 10% bonus damage from the lightcone, which would push the team dmg difference to around 11% (cause i'm hoping you already factored it in your initial 2.69%) Which is gigantic, ESPECIALLY when aventurine is your lowest dps. The impact from his lightcone is actually on the other members of your team lmao

one of the issues ive had with his lc description is whether or not that debuff actually counts for acherons ult count. either way, trend of the universal market is a great option thats honestly waivered my resolve to pull for his lc. still probably going to do it, just with a little more hesitation..

Warning! Warning! Aventurine has no form of taunt for a REASON! He does NOT want taunt! It won’t absolutely RUIN him but it is very BAD for him and how he wants to play. Using a lightcone with taunt is ONLY going to be to his DETRIMENT

His LC is essential if you want to play him as an actual dps But I don't see any reason to pull for it if you want him as only a sustain Trend if with Acheron Anything else with anyone else (I am still crying because I couldn't get Acheron's lc and I don't even want to look at the lc banner🫠)
