When you see bees on flowers that pollen is too dense to be air born(hence the reason you need bees), therefore, people are not allergic to it. The pollen that people are allergic to is the pollen from non flowering trees, grasses, weeds and shrubs.
Marc, we thought you were scrubbing up for surgery. LOL! Congratulations Carson. Awesome flying! This reminded me of my flight in the back seat of an antique plane in Hawaii where, despite my best attempts, I lost my cookies. Too much bouncing up and down over the mountains. Good for you in keeping it together Marc.
Hope you had a safe flight home and did not get caught in bad weather. Beautiful video enjoyed the lavender farm. Glad I was not there, my allergies would have been crazy.
I too was blessed to have parents that encouraged my love of flying so it makes me happy to see you encourage Carson as well! Keep it up and we’ll see Carson out on the line in no time!
I thought oh the irony of having burgers while being surrounded be cows hahaha. Awesome video as I will probably never make out of this country...actually I'll be happy just to get to explore this country more. Thank you guys for opening my eyes to a whole community of people doing just what I've always wanted to do and never knew being a nomad was actually still a thing these days.
How cool to feel the waves crashing down below you as it goes through the rocks. Carson you did an excellent job flying. He mentioned he wanted to do this as a career. Is he wanting to be a commercial airline pilot, military pilot?
Thanks for the advice. That helps. I camped 40 years ago and it wasn’t pretty. Will you be in WI next season. We’d love to meet you. KYD is the highlight of my Sunday. How old do you need to be to fly a plane. That is so great.
Lots of WI next season. We switched our meet-ups to KYD Insiders only for many reasons. That's the best way to keep in touch. The channel runs 1-2 months behinds so by the time WI shows up on the channel, we'll be 2 months down the road.
To cool the flying experience for young man while in place like New Zealand. The fact that it is in his plans for a career makes it all the better. Its so amazing to hear of a young person that knows what he wants his career to be and is moving toward it at his age. Heck I am a 65 year old retired IT career guy that still doesn't know what I really would like to do when I grew up. NICE
This was a great episode, but I would have liked to hear Carson’s take on his flight. Have a great week and we’ll see you next Sunday! Safe travels! (Jane)
It was Great Flying with Carson👍 It looks like eventually you'll be able to trade in the RV for an Airplane and leave the driving/flying to Carson🙂 Great Video🙂
Great episode! New Zealand looks good on your family :) I was thinking through this episode, like anytime you add the boys this much, it's very fun to watch! Does Caleb have an instagram account? I saw he was carrying a nice camera, maybe it was Dad's. And Carson's eyebrows could have their own IG altogether. HAAHA!! Can't wait until next Sunday :)
My wife (South African) and I (American) live in Indiana, but she's in Invercargill right now with her Sister who just had a baby. From what she's been telling me, and you're videos... I need to go and drive in NZ!
Big ups for Mr. Carson, great job kid. I am glad Trish is feeling better about (let's just call it the incident) herself. It must be getting time for a new cooking with Trish episode.
I used to sell cars at a ford dealer. I once helped an Australian couple that was shopping for a diesel super duty. They told me it was cheaper to buy it here, ship it to Australia, and have a right hand drive conversion done yourself than it was to buy one in Australia. They said that left hand drive vehicles were not allowed, and that the right hand drive conversion was mandatory.
What an awesome video! You had me at the crepes, the farm and then when Carson went flying! Wow, Carson did great and nailed that landing it looked like. Way to go Carson! What a cool thing to have flown in New Zealand and have it in your log. Beautiful scenery as well. Thanks for another great video! I always look forward to the next video! Hugs, Brenda
Take a flight over Mount Ruapehu, or Mount Tarawera. Mount Ruapehu is an active stratovolcano at the southern end of the Taupo Volcanic Zone in New Zealand. It is 23 kilometres (14 mi) northeast of Ohakune and 23 km (14 mi) southwest of the southern shore of Lake Taupo, within Tongariro National Park. The North Island's major ski resorts and only glaciers are on its slopes. Ruapehu, the largest active volcano in New Zealand, is the highest point on the North Island and has three major peaks. Mount Tarawera is the volcano responsible for one of New Zealand's largest historic eruptions. Located 24 kilometres southeast of Rotorua in the North Island, ...
The term "Tic Tac Toe" isn't much known in New Zealand (and probably the same in Australia and England I'd guess). Hereabouts the game is known only as "Noughts-and-Crosses" .
Just found you guys and have been bingeing you on the TV (and loving it) but had to come and leave a comment about the full size truck thing. The biggest cost factor that you were missing was that any full size US truck you see in Australia/NZ has been converted to right hand drive by a third party business. (it's likely that truck was Shipped to Australia, converted in AUS, then shipped to NZ.. paying fees and taxes at every step) Even though all of the major brands sell trucks/utes here they won't bring over full size variants (it would be a small volume that would cannibalise their mid size truck market share so probably not worth the cost to them). The only exception is RAM. They aren't importing them, it's still a third party business, but RAM have given factory support so they have warranty and the Aus company can justify greater volume which also lowers the price a bit.. And they're selling well. We've been desperate for them because there are so many things you can't do with what's otherwise available here. (biggest down side at the moment is the models tend to be a year or so old.. though that is improving) As is, RAM 1500 models are priced between about $80k-$120k AUD (so about $60k-$85k USD) which puts it at the top end of mid size truck prices (a top spec Ford Ranger is about $80k) and equal to some luxury brands or traditional larger 4x4 vehicles like Toyota Landcruisers (often about $120k). So all things considered it makes them competitive enough. The other brands that are still having to be imported in small numbers generally cost about $150k AUD ($110k USD) so you only do that if you want/need something specific. I'd prefer my next vehicle to be an F250 but I don't know if I can justify paying the extra 25% price jump over the RAM 2500. Decisions decisions..
Fergburger is a hamburger restaurant located in Queenstown, New Zealand, which specialises in gourmet hamburgers.[2] Their burgers include those prepared with lamb, cod, falafel, a swine-and-chicken mix and venison
I owned over 500 acres, but it had nine elevations you never really knew how big it was now looking at the farm I have an idea. I always learn from your videos even if you had no idea. The farm is absolutely lovely I'd go. Also the bees are after pollen so they have no interest in you. I had to take a benydrel at the lavender farm and I'm here in the states. What do the boys think (if they want to say) of N.Z. they look they are having a great time.
Fergburger is so good also Fergbakery which is next door to fergburger they have amazing pies and donuts also Patagonia chocolate shop on the waterfront is amazing oh and you have to stop at the cookietime store as well in Queenstown ❤️
Fantastic! New Zealand has been on my list as a maybe, and I probably would not have thought of doing it by caravan! Your videos have me converted. It's on the definite list and definitely in a travel van! I had always heard that NZ is beautiful but your captures have really shown such variety and spectacular vistas that have brought that beauty to life and made it obvious that a road trip is the way to go. Many thanks!
That IS a memorable entry for his flight log!! I used to have a JUMP log! Where I’d jump out of perfectly good planes!!! Two totally different worlds! Great episode! “You can stop now”...
Fun watch and the boys maybe cow whisperers but Trish is truly a teenager whisperer with her sternly walking down the path and the crisp hand signals lmao
I really enjoyed seeing NZ from your 172. FYI in the log book in addition to the instructors comments you can add a line filling in who was also along for the ride, the weather and the memorable things you saw as well as any flight conditions like a crosswind or less than perfect flight conditions. These things are so nice to look back on later. When you get back you should try to make Air Venture in Oshkosh this summer. There is something for everyone to do all week long. My son and I have been attending for over 20 years and I am sure it had something to do with his career choice. He now flies for Southwest Airlines. Keep up the good work.
Boy what happen to the little Carson. I think back at the old videos and the boys looked so young. Now, how they have grown into a young men. Great job Carson. Marc the video footage is WOW. Oh can't forget Dr. Marc hand washing. Trish it is good to see you letting go of the well you know. LOL
The crêpes looked delicious! Enjoyed the beautiful scenery at the Pancake Rocks, really neat how the ocean come up against the rocks under the tunnel, how strong it is to feel the vibration under your feet. Thank you for sharing!
The music 🎶 is always fantastic ..best channel on you tube..funny as can be , gorgeous scenery very informative .. I’ve watched since episode one. Thanks for sharing the journey..💕
Hello Marc and Trish 👋, good to see you guys again. Mannnn, New Zealand is a beautiful place. The footage with the high tide and mountains was "off the chain," and The look on Carson's face whilst eating that pizza was priceless 😅. Life is good for the KYD family. Congratulations Carson on flight hours in New Zealand 🤗, you guys looked like you were on top of the world whilst flying. Also, Trish, those burgers looked good in the beginning, what were the spices that you seasoned them with ? Another great video guys, thanks for sharing, keep the videos coming and safe travels 🙏.
Cool crepe rig history. You left us hanging on how the lemon curd crepe was?! The boys calling the herd 🐮🐄🤠 🤣😂. Carson got a fantastic experience with spectacular views!
Your weekly videos make us want to get back on the road. Life in a regular home, seeing and doing the same things, is just flat. There's something missing. Maybe that's the sign that we need a change in our lives. We just don't have a catalyst....and that's our problem. How do you create change without a catalyst?
You nailed it. When the pain of staying the same exceeds the pain the change, it happens! What we like about being on the road 9 mos out of the year is we appreciate sticks and bricks a bit more. It's actually a bit of fun to improve the house when we only have a bit of time to do it and miss it when we leave.
Can't get over how beautiful NZ is. It's no wonder your filling up SD cards. Great job Carson, the landing was soooo smooth, I didn't even need my seat belt on. Take care and be safe.
Is Carson going into the US Air Force, US Navy, Marine Corps or US army to go for further training and career or maybe going commercial? So cool that Carson is an aviator or pilot in such a young age. I hope you will be a successful pilot wether commercial or military
I would have spent the entire trip with my mouth hanging open! The views were amazing! We are sooooooo jealous! Thanks for including us in your travels!
You guys are THE feel good videos on steroids! this particular episode was enjoyable as usual, however, it was made special with Carson getting to fly and log a flight in New Zealand.......the enthusiasm and commitment that you both showed for Carson's enjoyment and experience confirmed what I have been saying about you both for several videos....you are THE feel good videos on RU-vid even if folks are not into RVing I am sure that they will enjoy ...Thank You...again!
Way to go Carson!!! Woot woot! Your videos always bring a smile to my face! 😁 We're from Fountain Hills, right now we're in Alvarado Texas picking up our new Motorhome! 👍🏼💗🇺🇸
@@KeepYourDaydream Well, I guess that if the toilets flush backwards anything can get reversed LOL In America, and this is just for your family to know, anyplace that raises livestock for consumption is a ranch. Any place that produces non meat products is a farm. A ranch is an area of land, including various structures, given primarily to the practice of ranching, the practice of raising grazing livestock such as cattle or sheep for meat. The word most often applies to livestock-raising operations in Mexico, the Western United States and Western Canada, though there are ranches in other areas. People who own or operate a ranch are called ranchers, cattlemen, or stockgrowers. Ranching is also a method used to raise less common livestock such as elk, American bison or even ostrich, emu, and alpaca. Now, with this said, here is the trivia question for your sons. What is the only exception to this rule in the U.S.? Answer: A dairy is a farm as it produces milk instead of meat. :) I didn't write this to dispute you, I just thought that it would be fun knowledge for your sons :)
Another great video. I did see the turbulence in the plane and was wondering who was going to fill a bag. I have good friends in Scottsdale - he is a pilot (Netjet) and she was a pilot(Air Alaska). If Carson ever has questions about becoming a pilot I can put them in touch with you. The poo incident - eek 😬.
WOW! SO much ground covered in under 25 minutes...phenomenal! Lovely Trish walking among lovely lavender...and Marc pairing the perfect music to the scene...and, of course, your precious Carson...ahhhhh! What a delight....:-)
