I’m in tears. Completely exhausted and scared. I have never felt so tired in my life and I feel soo alone. I just want to be strong, healthy and happy. I’m really just scared. I pray this exhaustion goes away. I can’t go from being an athlete to not being able to last a full day. 😭

feeling too tired to do things mixed with me gaining like 60 pounds from recovery is hard trying to get out the door and do things years ago that would have been easy for me

recovery is very draining yes, im sure weight gain can affect this as well but in the long run, we can also build up energy and stamina again to live in the body we have.

@@erinsmeraldo9008 hi !!! I am fully recovered now : mind and body !!! It was the best decision I made. It was the key in order to rewire my brain. I rested, I learnt other ways to find calm and peace, and I broke that baaaaad cycle. I can't recommend it enough !!!

So true, I will stop blaming myself that I am just lazy... thanks for the video! For how long does it usually last? I also noticed that I have a lot of grey hair in my recovery, much more than during ED. Do you know anything about that correlation, and what to do? (besides eating well and resting:)
@FollowTheIntuition
@FollowTheIntuition 2 года назад
yes, you deserve to rest and you are not being "lazy"! I can't say how long it lasts as everybody is different. you can only make sure you are doing everything on your part to support your body's recovery and then it can be as "quick" as it can be. I'm not exactly sure about gray hair, but I know hair falling out in recovery, for example, could be a delayed response to the stress you had before as hair responds to stress later. so im wondering if that could be the culprit.

I have gotten a lot of grey hairs as well this year during recovery! I don't know why. I'm considering them as battle scars along with my stretch marks, to remember me doing something extremely hard and brave 😅

has anyone dealt with excessive sweating in recovery? i feel like i just walk down the street and i’m drenched ina pool of sweat…even in 32 degree weather i’m profusely sweating…it’s annoying
@katjajmusic
@katjajmusic 2 года назад
Yes! It’s been the worst, I’m not sure what causes it. I’ve wondered if it’s something about the body not being able to/not prioritizing temperature regulation. Systems get shut off during restriction... It’s getting better with time though
@govegan562

@@katjajmusic ya it’s so frustrating…it’s gotta have something to do with hormones being off or something

I'm 40, I've been all in for 13 months, and I'm extremely exhausted, no words to describe, it's difficult even to keep my eyes open. Elisa, from your experience, is it possible to develop ME/CFS during recovery?
@piedpiper1201
@piedpiper1201 2 года назад
how long were you ill? im going through the same thing although i am seeing tangible improvements in other areas which is giving me motivation to keep going, if you were ill for years it is not possible to recover in a matter of months
@karinehkarineh6467
@karinehkarineh6467 2 года назад
@@piedpiper1201 I was ill for about 8 years before I started my recovery. I had extreme hunger for more than a year, on the first day of all in I collapsed with no energy at all and I'm still struggling toughly for a pinch of energy. It seems like something in my body broke down seriously and is difficult to be repaired. The hardest thing is constant brain fog. Though I should say I did a little progress, it is still really tough.
@piedpiper1201

@@karinehkarineh6467 I was similar, first months were really hard. I used to feel paralysed after I ate, couldn't move for hours. Its slowly getting better. Before healing I never felt hungry, only dizzy. Now I wake up hungry.

Im in recovery since januari 2021, and im so exhausted since. Im on healthy bmi but i know that this is not my end goal. Bmi is bullshit. But Im still soooo tired all the time. Makes me sad and afraid if my energy ever comes back. 😢and scared because the doctors tell me my weight is good. So why still tired. 🤷🏼‍♀️It is sooo confusing

Is it possible also that eating disorder produces a lack of self-control in other areas of life?

Hey this probably won’t make any sense but there’s no harm in asking as I am quite stuck. So I have been in ‘recovery’ (by myself) for three weeks. Although I am planning on one day going all in however don’t feel like I could do that yet mentally. But I feel now like I’m scared of eating enough in my recovery because I feel like I should wait until I feel ready to start all in to gain weight . Any tips ??

truth is: you’ll never feel ready. your ed just puts off recovery, telling you “now is not the right time”. but when will the right time come? when you’re almost dying, starving yourself to death? no, the right time is right NOW. it’s never too soon to get your life back, to finally live freely. repeat with me: “great things never came from comfort zones.” xx
