I actually always thought that I was squeaky and was really self-conscious of it up until about 16 where I was told that I have a very deep voice and in some cases I sounded black. The reason why I heard my voice like this though was probably because I always despised my extremely squeaky voice before I hit puberty, which I hit pretty hard.

Vibrațiile membranei timpanice se transmit mai întâi la ciocănaș, apoi la nicovală și scăriță, iar de acolo la fereastra ovală, situată la limita dintre urechea medie și cea internă. Sunetul care ajunge în urechea internă este transmis prin intermediul oaselor craniului, ceea ce te face să crezi că vocea ta este mai joasă decât a altor oameni. Unii dintre noi nu suportăm să ne auzim vocea pe o înregistrare în primul rând pentru că ni se pare prea străină și în al doilea rând pentru că refuzăm să o asociem cu noi înșine. E clar că din această categorie nu fac parte... cântăreții. Dar nu-i nimic. Partea bună e că numai tu știi cum sună vocea ta pentru tine :)

The sound of my voice is my biggest insecurity. It's also a dead give-away that I'm gay, according to a lot of people who hear it and assume I'm gay. This is infuriating, because I can't hear it unless I record it. I'm terrified to talk in environments where I'm not comfortable.

Just like people who start to watch an anime in Japanese voice but when they hear the dub version it sounds unrealistic, and same when a person who watch dub version and then someone show them the sub version of the same anime, it sounds weird to them and unrealistic.
