Question...I want to use a rope lanyard while working on a roof at home bc I can reliably lock it for added stability (unlike an SLR). What would you recommend for roofs under 15'?

I think if you fall more than 15’ it helps but if it’s under that amount it’s overkill.

Have to disagree with that. Falling even the length of a 6ft rope lanyard will put a good hurt on you at the very least. Back in the days of waist belts and rope lanyards, a fall arrest incident was very likely to put you in the hospital, or worse. Now that full body harnesses are required for fall protection, things have gotten better. But the goal should be that a fall is a non-event as it relates to your health.
