Wish the dimming feature was shown using a heat lamp. Want to see how gradual it dims and what happens went the thermostat hits desired temp.

It is great ! But you could hide the wire behind the wood , or better .... Let moss grow on the wire itself and leave the functional part uncovered . Sabzy is great ! Even with everybody saying that it is 1 hard to keep 2 hard to tame this kind of lizard, I think you did it marvelous !!! I am your fan ! 😍

I love both of my exoterra tanks, I can keep the temp perfectly fine with their digital hydro/thermometer, but this will be very useful when my collection grows. As it is now tho, I like the time I maintain the cages so I can bond with my geckos

Would it be possible to use this model with nothing plugged into the night time side? For my set up I would only have 1 device connected to it and would maintain the same temp always

Awesome video!! Can you just use this thermostat on a setting for a 1 deep heat projector all day long instead of using day & night outlets,just using one outlet,is possible?? And do you know if they all have clock time to tell the time of day on these thermostats??

Once I try to lower the heat it turns off and my tank goes cold. What’s causing this? It doesn’t turn back on after turning the temp down

Is the dimming option suppose to make the basking light flicker off and on from time to time or could there be an issue with my thermostat?

no. dimming applies less wattage to heat lamp as it gets closer to desired temp. so the light stays on but gets dimmer. make sure u have it set to dimming not proportional and that u are not using a ballasted bulb like a compact florescent or power sun. Ballasted bulbs do not dim.

i just got my spider and the heat mat and the thermostat. I set the temperture on 25 celcius and it doesnt even reach 18 celcius. do you have tips?

i waited 5 hours and still not anything also i slept so 5 plus 9 is 14 hours and didnt reach even 20

hmmm this sounds more like the heatpad isnt hot or working and not that the thermostat is malfunctioning. Id consider running the heatpad without it and temp gunning it to read if the temp is still that low or if it gets higher not running through the thermostat. Best of luck!

What time does the night setting start ? I'm not understanding how it knows when its night time

it will be opposite of your day cycle :) but you can still select which hours you want to have be controlled as a night cycle. Hope that makes sense!

I get that its opposite to the day cycle but is it a 12hour day 12 hour night ? Is it a set time I can put in like 6pm ? Doesn't seem to have a sensor to know , what if I set it up an hour from actual night time but its in the day will it know that its gonna be night time in an hour ?

@@derekrosequezadasullivan6630 you create your window/cycle. As of those hours the day cycle ends and your night cycle starts. Whatever temperature you wanted for the night cycle is what the thermostat will regulate the heating device to during those hours. You can choose. If for some reason you only wanted it to be from 2-4am then that’s the only period of time the thermostat would be controlling it.

I wish the temp probe and the humidity probe were separate. Finding a good spot to read and control both heat and humidity from can be a pain in a very large environment.

This is just an ad. You could at least compare it to other products on the market, the previous generation or maybe even just add things you wished it could do. Right now, in parts, it sounds as if Exo Terra sent you a script to read.

Theres no such thing as a "dimming thermometer". Its called a rheostat, and is an entirely type pf technology, functionally very different from a thermostat. And their "pulse technology" or whatever is literally the exact same as a normal thermostat, but with lower tolerances so that it turns on and off more rapidly.
