The way you described the sound is the way I like it... Not super analitical boring sound, but nice juicy bass, wide soundstage and good detail, without breaking the bank lol. You convinced me to buy it. Subscribed!

Thank you for your enthusiastic review of this little jewel of a dac/amp. All the reviews are very positive on the sq portion of the K7. I just pulled the trigger on the non-BT version a few moments ago. Once it gets here in a few days, my new K7 will be powering Fiio's own FT-5 planars. Should make for a pretty musical budget head-fi setup. Happy holidays bud.

@@nazibkhan775 My K7 has been my primary PC DAC for a while now. I use it every day with no hiccups. Best $300 I've spent on anything audio in a long time. The best part is the smooth sound signature devoid of a glary upper midrange and highs. Highly recommended.

K7 (non BT) user here! bought it when it first came out. I also have the same experience as you when I first time use it. I just can't believe that in this price point, you can get this kind of performance and power.

@@nonleggolerisposte5921 from my previous experience, you definitely get more juice out from K7, also if you use IEMs, I think that K7 is friendlier (cuz I hate the potentiometer on IFI zen dac, imbalance on low volume hahaha). Soundwise, they have their own characteristics, in my opinion, K7 is more relaxed (neutral warm tuning) and IFI is just neutral. Take it with a grain of salt cuz I didn't spend a lot of time with the IFI.

MIke I have that unit home along with a Topping Dx3 pro and my older Schiit Audio Lyr/multibit (with updgraded tube roll) First - - all are very good and punch above their weight class. The two inexpensive units do NOT sound as good as Schiit Lyr but with the upgraded tube that's near a $1000 package vs about $2-250. I find that out of the box the Topping quite good, a little piercing, though that might improve with burn in The Fiio sounds great on speakers out of the box. Full rich smoother a bit warmer than the same-priced Topping.... BUT and its a big one - the headphone section with both my ZMF Verite Open's and my Hifiman HE560's is anemic The warmth and richness on speakers isn't reproduced on headphones Lacking in fullness and just ...well a bit anemic Not in volume but in sound. I am auditioning all this for my daughter whom I'll be giving the HE560s Bad combo with the Fiio, , just doesn't sound good. The Topping has about identical sound on both speakers and headamp So...I hear what you hear on speakers (audio engine 2+ for the desktop) but disappointingly NO on headphones I wonder why you and I are having such a different experience on our Hifiaman headphones. Great presentation by the way,, you have both clarity and enthusiasm and energy nicely bottled together.

On the topic of cost effective gems. The venture electronics Megatron or Prime are superb value. But you also need their impedance adapters for the megatron. The Megatron also have 4.4mm balanced headphone output which is pretty much non existent at the low price point. I've retired some ifi dacs for the smaller footprint of the Megatron, which feeds inti the Zen Air Can. I will be picking up a K7 or K11 soon however. The volume knobs look great.

I got some active speakers from argon, tried to connect them with analog to aux but the sound directly into the pc was horrible, it sounded good with the optical output on the back of my pc, but im soon getting my new one that has no optical outputs on the back… so my question is, will it work to use optical betweene the speakers and the k7? And are the k7 and k7 bt the same just with/without bluetooth function?

Mine is too quiet and i don't understand why. I have my dial at max and my windows at max and it's still only decent. I've been told it can be painful at max volume but I'm not seeing it I've tried both my 880pro 250 ohm and then my cloud 3 hyper x. They get loud but not what I was expecting since I have it at max. It's on high gain too..

Mine didn't get too loud at max volume on my 880 250ohms.. they sound a little quieter than my g6 I was using before. I think I'm doing something wrong even though I have it on high gain

I think you meant Topping DX3 Pro+. D30 Pro is a lot more expensive symmetric Quad DAC without headphone output.

I have the k7 DAC paired with a parts Express amp and some diy scan speak bookshelf speakers. Also a Dayton audio sub woofer. It's very good. Not sure what you put together but now but that's my choice.

I really quite liked the Fiio K7. Until I ran it side-by-side with a mate's SMSL DL200... So, now I am selling it as I use the DL200 on my desk. The form factor and build quality are better on the Fiio though.

Sound might be a subjective thing but I have used ifi Zen Dac V2 for almost a couple of years and I've really loved using it with my IEMs and headphones. The build is phenomenal and the aesthetics are really great for the price. The only downside is the lack of input options as it only has USB input. Also the power was enough but compared to the Fiio K7BT, it is very underpowered. The K7BT also has a plethora of inputs such as optical, coaxial and Bluetooth. That's the reason I'm currently looking to buy it once it comes in stock.

I got mine for $91.70 semi-used According to the owner, he has multiple AMPs/DACs so after reviewing this one, he just put it away and never used it again

sadly you cannot, bluetooth on fii k7 is for input only, like a laptop, phone etc. you cannot connect output (headphones, speakers) to bluetooth.

My first headphone amp / dac was a Fiio. It was better than running my headphones off the motherboard, but also harsh. I added an O2 amp from JDS Labs and it got a lot better. Unfortunately, the Fiio dac started to fail, so I replaced it with an ODAC and things got even better. Both the new dac and new amp not only sounded better, but were much better built. I had them both a lot longer and both are as good as new. My experience with Fiio was mediocre sound quality, poor reliability, and non-existent customer support. My experience with JDS Labs is very good sound quality, solid reliability and exceptional customer support. I appreciate your channel, but I do not "NEED to Buy the FiiO K7 BT NOW!!!" Btw: I recently upgraded to a JDS Labs Element III and, um, I didn't know what I was missing. Amazing.

@@princekittipon6510 It might be better, but I'm not going to take the $200 risk. I also doubt their customer support has improved. They're interested in selling products, but not supporting them.
