It’s so hard to pick a colour for carpet. It’s kind of either grey or cream sometimes the beiges look a bit dirty or murky yellowish or brown. Desperately trying to find a carpet 😫

I agree. It always takes me and my partner so long finding a flat to rent because most of them are overwhelmed by the cool grey colour scheme and grey carpets. I love wooden floors and warm coloured walls.

Hi I’ve recently found your channel and am loving all your advice and tips. I am currently looking to change the carpet on my stairs and landing. I have a wood laminate in my hallway and I’m not a big fan of grey. At the moment I have a green floral pattern carpet which is hideous … I’ve lived in this house for 25 years (I’ve just made the last payment on my mortgage 🥳) the carpet was new when I bought the house and honestly they must have paid a lot of money for it as it not worn at all. I became a single parent not long after moving in so I never really had much disposable income. Anyway sorry for the ramble but my kids are grown up now and I am in a much better financial situation. It’s a 3 story 4 bed terrace and I’m wondering what colour carpet you think I should go for?? I just can’t make my mind up, I have beige carpets in both lounge’s, I love the warm tones but obviously I want something on the stairs that will be hard wearing and not show up any stains.

Oh gosh, I know exactly what sort of carpet you mean, but amazing how long it's lasted and a HUGE congrats on that last mortgage payment, that must be such an incredible feeling, well done!! On your stairs you can choose to be a bit more adventurous, I'd stick with similar tones so it's cohesive in the space, have you thought of a stair runner rather than carpet across the entire width? I really like herringbone stair runners, it's just more visually exiting than a plain carpet but still feels warm and versatile. Hi, loving your video. I went into carpet right today to purchase a grey carpet!! Rethinking my choice now! You mention beige and cream are more versatile. How do you decide on the shade though? What is the shade of your wool loop carpet? Thanks

Thank you! Ahhh perfect timing then! I think it's best to go for something mid-range, so not too light but it has some colour to it. Best to get a couple of samples so you can see how they work in your space. The colour of ours is called Sandy Springs, I basically found a version I liked on one of the more expensive carpet retailers and went to a local based carpet supplier and asked for something similar, a lot cheaper too!

Can’t stand grey carpets. Love walls that are grey but not carpets. Always go for a light beige. Goes with everything. I do need to clean my carpets more often however I enjoy cleaning my carpets so doesn’t bother me.

Also totally agree that inderpendant or small business carpet stores are far cheaper and better customer service than major chains. I was quoted over £1000 more with a major retailer than a small business. I also got great customer service with the small business and was just treated like a number at the major store.

I do not understand the obsession with Gray. Everywhere I look it's gray walls and gray floors. Oh goodness gracious that's like 10 years ago folks get over it

Yes!! Grey is definitely my pet hate in an interior, crushed velvet, grey carpet, it's a no from me!
