Which type are you??? Do you show your card? CITI card? Phone App? Or are you the type that expects the door employee to know you ARE a member without showing your card?
They must know you by now and don't doubt you're the card holder. I got to know many of our members and didn't feel the need to match the face to the card :)
When there’s a rush at the door there’s many times we just walk in without showing a card. I’ve also done an experiment showing a Sam’s Club card without issue. So I’m pretty sure if someone wants to get in to walk around they could. Checking out is another thing.
They'll always wait until they grab a cart, then they shuffle through their wallet for 5 mins for a membership card while cart-crew just stares at their final goal - so close - yet so far away. Oh no, youre not in my way, you just need a second, like the 15 others before you who walked in front of me.
I can understand carding at the register but not at the door. I can’t buy anything without the card so why does it matter that I have one to enter the store?
Well, since it is a membership store, we wanna make sure you have your card when you come in. It also helps to make sure you have your card with you... If you knew how many people a day get to the registers just to find they forgot their card at home. (This means they just showed their wallet, wrong card, or nothing at all, to get in and/or ignored the door employee).
@@CostcoDude It's getting ridiculous at this point! The long lines to both enter and to exit is a big pain. If the membership were free I'd understand but at $60 and $120 to go through these many hoops and hurdles is beyond cumbersome. I personally am not renewing my membership and know of many others that are following suit. Costco likes to say that they don't make any profits on the products they sell and that's a lie, they have a 5% to 12% profit margin on most products, so there's definitely some profit being made from purchases alone. 75% of the profit comes from the membership itself. This is nothing but a move incentivized by corporate greed. And Costco prices on many items has gotten out of hand, some are actually cheaper to purchase at the supermarket. Aside from gas which I can understand, the justifications behind a Costco membership are becoming less and less as the years go by.
