Many people say their dream vacation spot would be Australia. As I lived in Oz for some 20 years, Fiji was my vacation spot of choice. I have been there many times. Always stayed on Denarau Island at one of the resorts, usually the Hilton. Loved riding the Bula buses down to the marina for dinner or to embark on an excursion or island adventure. Have not been there for best part of 10 years. This video brought back many great memories. Fiji got in my soul many years ago.
We stayed at Nanuku resort. Hospitality and family atmosphere is off the charts. Fijian’s are the best at hospitality. So kind, and humble. Forever grateful.
After watching this video, this really did made me miss home. Definitely brings back memories being at Beachcomber, Turtle Island, being in the local markets of Suva, Rakiraki, Taveuni and waking up at 5am to see the beautiful sunrise everyday. Haven’t been back home in ages. I am glad both of you had a great time in Fiji 🙌🏼😁
Hi @TravelwithEd - It's a fabulous place. Here's my video from May 2023 with additional travel tips and updated prices for your research: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Df2fjLwQM7k.html Enjoy!
We went to Taveuni and also stayed at Vale Sekoula in Matei. They now have added two stand up paddle boards so more water play options! And they now added another bedroom so comfortable accommodations for six! The waterfalls were outstanding. You need to go back to Taveuni and do the Lavena Coastal walk and the Ceva pearl farm. Thanks for the outstanding videos! Looking forward to seeing more of your adventures.
It only gets better and better 😍 we need to go back already!! Great recommendations!! We wished we had more time on the island so we need to go back and try those!! Thanks Kurt!!
Hi Taran - I've just uploaded my video from our recent trip to Fiji (May 2023): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Df2fjLwQM7k.html It might be useful for your research for your upcoming trip. Enjoy!
I loved your journal of travel to Fiji! My wife and I are planning a trip there soon. I noticed you used a drone for some footage…did you need to file for approval to fly your drone there? Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for the kind words!! Yes! For reference we have a drone under 250 grams, so above that is probably a bit different. We filled out the application from their Aviation authority and emailed it to them a few months ahead of time, but never heard back. At the airport they saw our drone in the scans and brought us to the side and had applications to fill out and went over all their regulations. We had printed ours out, so I just gave them that one, but definitely could have filled it out and given it to them there in the Nadi airport 🙂 most of the other regulations are pretty standard (line of sight, height limits, etc) and listed on their aviation site! Enjoy your time!!

0:03 That is in Sigatoka, while talking about Fiji and Sigatoka, Sigatoka is just a smaller version of Lautoka. If your looking for a great ride to Suva The Capital of Fiji, Take queens road a smoother road to enjoy your ride. If you want a great view ride to Suva your looking at kings road a fantastic view of Raki Raki a great beach and town, and yes we have bad news the road is not that well developed too. Most ethnic groups are, Indian, Fijian, and I think Aussies or Rotumans a small island around Vitu Levu. But otherwise Fiji is the a great place to rest and have fantastic vacation of lots varieties to stay in Fiji. Fiji airways is a great flight to if your looking for a stay In Fiji. Thank you.
Loved the video: would be fabulous if you could include the cost of each of the activities, flights, accommodation next time. I know it varies but a ball park would be so welcome x

Hi!! We drove to the straight to the Biausevu village - I’m not sure they have any other way of contact!! Here is the google maps link: Biausevu goo.gl/maps/qJG8M7SEZSfmqJYM8
Stick to renting cars.. don't travel on mini buses especially at night and always have a licensed guide with you when traveling at night. Like every place.. there is always some nut job here n there.. there has been an incident with a tourist couple where the guy was injured and the girl raped while traveling in a mini van. There are men who walk around in normal attire with things wrapped in news papers who will try to ask tourists for their names, once given they write your names on them and force you to buy them..Stick to tourist sites and there are many and the hospitality of Fijians overall is better than any other people you'll see.
For everyone who is watching this video, please do not follow the example of touching or removing the starfish from the water, it is really bad for them, they may even die.
Hey chica!! I’m going to Fiji in October. Would you recommend booking flights, trips, and hotels in advice or can you play by ear and book while you are there?
I would recommend for sure getting flights and hotels beforehand! You’ll want to probably book like boat tours or scuba tours ahead of time, but other activities like waterfall hikes (Bouma, for example) don’t need reservations beforehand!! Have so much fun!!
Fiji unfortunately is overpriced. If you want to kick back and relax , Fiji’s your place . If you wanna party then you should think twice . I’ll be in Savusavu over Christmas this year and it cost me approximately $15,000 Australian which includes accomodation with breakfast included airfare for 2 adults and 2 kids but one child was considered as a full paying adult due to him being over 12 years. If you haven’t bought your tickets yet , MYFIJI has some good deals with Mana island . I had the opportunity to take up an offer at Mana for approximately $8,500 for our family but refused as we have always wanted to go to Savusavu . I,ve been to many islands in Fiji and would really recommend Yasawa . A little upmarket but worth it .
Fiji is definitely a place that can range on prices - you have luxury resorts on private islands on one end of the spectrum and we hit more on the lower end. The place we stayed near Nadi was around $100 USD per night with breakfast included, activities varied (like under $10 per person for entry fees to places like the waterfalls to a few hundred dollars for a scuba dive). Our flights from the US and the 2 scuba dives were definitely our highest costs this trip. I’d have to go back and do some digging to get a more exact number!
Fiji 🇫🇯 is wonderful country in whole world 🌎 peoples are also very helpful. Kind and lovely I live in fiji 🇫🇯 7 months I really love with fiji. Come back soon 🔜 ❤❤😘🥰😍🤘🏻🙏🏻🤟🏼😻🥰
What was that thing that looked like a tuning fork that startled all the fish? Great video. Fiji has been on my adventure list for a while and I am curious to know how it compares to the Cook Islands where we were "trapped" for 3 months starting in March 2020 at the beginning of COVID.
It’s something that a lot of the dive masters bring down on a dive so they can ding it on their tank to get the attention of the divers 🙂 the easiest way to communicate under water! I’ve always wanted to visit the Cook Islands!! I wouldn’t mind being “trapped” there for 3 months!!
Es desagradable ver un video con los protagonisgas con mascarilla, es muy importante ver la expresión de la cara -Espero que estéis bien si os habéis vacunado
