The hardest part of being a Caregiver to my Husband of 54 years of marriage, is when he looks at me with a confused look on his face while staring into my eyes with a look of begging me to help him remember something he can’t. He has a look like he is getting lost in his own mind and he is very scared. He is a venerable little boy looking for guidance. It breaks my heart and I cry inside while remaining strong to genially guide him out of his panic and confusion.

I do understand. As he goes deeper into the stages, he should be more contented. He won’t know what he doesn’t know, if that makes sense. Love you!

Hi, I’m in the first twelve months of my partner’s diagnosis and have been keeping my gripes and gratitude in the same journal. Mistake! Just ordered two notebooks and will be doing it your way in future - so much better. Thank you x

Thank you so much! I’ve been keeping a gratitude journal for years, but just realized how helpful having a GRIPE journal could help me (when I’m frustrated, I would turn to food and try and suppress those feelings or end up bingeing). Going to start the GRIPE journal and see how that helps release the steam, lol😅❤

So grateful for this video. Will begin a gratitude separate journal in 2022 from my gripes. Lovely way to embody true grit and grace of caregiving.

Love this! I can vent in one journal and then that journal can be tossed when/if I want. Great idea! Thanks for doing this video and giving so much to us caregivers. ❤

Love the idea and name gripe journal. I also use a weekly calendar row document my moms health like her. Shifts in her cognition, infections, meds etc.

I watch your videos when I need a "boost". Your videos help me to keep things in perspective so I can be a better caregiver to my mother in law. Thank you! :)

Great advice! I let one journal with everything. Not good because I couldn’t share with others because all my gripes and frustrations were there!🤦‍♀️

Well, I would like to say that what if the dementia patient had a gratitude and gripe journal 🤔 While still able to write their thoughts, what would they say? As my time goes on I'll have to let you know perspective and thoughts as I am in beginning stages of Lewy Body at age 58 Hopefully I have several years to ponder my thoughts 😊

Absolutely! That would be great for working out the feelings that accompany the disease diagnosis. Please do, Tory. In your corner dear!!
