I had just visited some family from Cres and we took the ferry to Rijeka and some other islands, but Rijeka is absolutely heaven on earth. Everything about Croatia is, but Rijeka alone is like a dream come true. The things I’d do to become a permanent citizen 😭
Aww, thanks Mauro! We're going to Central America next! Belize first the Guatemala, El Savaldor, etc, and I look forward to really using my Spanish again. We will eventually get to Colombia so we would love your tips on what to see when there. We can't wait to explore a new part of the world!
Rijeka is definitely not a spoy we were thinking of visiting when we finally make it to Croatia but the port area looks so beautiful and the market seems like such a local gem! That is such an amazing beach also... reminds us of one of the ones we went to near Kas in Turkey... that whole area has such an amazing coastline!
This city seems right up our alley…it looks like it’s a bit more affordable and less touristy? How amazing are the views from all the restaurants you are at, I especially like the cafe at the castle 🤩 you guys are so brave walking through the world war tunnel 🙈 I think I like the first beach better, just because of the colour of the water 😅💙 As Kendra was deciding to get in the water, I was like “Go Kendra, Go” 🤗 so glad you decided to get in 💪
This is a very well presented video with interesting information and attractive footage. South Central Europe is an amazing place with other nice cities worth visiting as well. Hope you had a look at Ljubljana in Slovenia just further north over the Dinaric Alps. Great job!
I'm thinking of going to Zagreb and Rijeka with a day trip to Opatija around April this year. I'd also thinking of stopping by Pula and then ending my trip in Trieste, Italy. Your calm delivery was pleasant to listen to and informative at the same time.
Looks like an amazing place to visit! You found some beautiful attractions like the tunnels, the beaches, and despite the rain it was still lovely. The water did look chilly. You also found some great food along the way. I'd love to go to the bakery and market for some inexpensive food options.
wow. Guys, so wonderderful to watch your vlog after a gap, loved the way you have captured this beautiful city, frankly I have not heard much about it but really impressed to see this through your vlog. So well captured and presented. Really impressed to see the tunnel
Loved your lunch views on the first day although we are big fans of a bakery lunch to save time and money whilst exploring, your bakery lunches sounded great. Kendra that cocktail sounds just like one I ordered a few days ago, I shuddered with every sip! 😅 well done for getting into the water, cold water is so good for the body!
nearby (10min drive) you have Opatija/Abazzia city and riviera on west and Crikvenica on east. An hour ride Mt Učka (Monte magiorre) on Istria peninsula and Gorski kotar northern area. Try it if you have time
We can sure appreciate visiting a city that isn't as touristy. For a less touristy city it sure has plenty to do. I would definitely want to eat at Molo Longo for that view! Did you say you had monkfish there? That view from the castle was also quite nice 😍 I am glad at least one of your cocktails was good, I can't stand drinks that taste like medicine 😝
@@LucasWorldTravel glad to hear it! We can sometimes find monkfish at the fresh markets here in Florida. We have enjoyed in when we have been able to try it too.
I’m going to Rijeka in July so this video has been so so helpful, thank you!! I’m going on a weekend, would you recommend that I have to book any restaurants or would you say that they’re quite easy to get into?😊
Glad to hear it was helpful! We were there in September and didn't have any trouble finding a table anywhere. So, I think you will be fine without reservations.
So glad the video was helpful to you! Rijeka is a nice place to be, so I hope you can find peace there until you can go home. We wish you and your family the best, and hope this this war will be over soon.
