I've looked up a lot of stands but most of the reviews for all of them is it shorts and destroys their controllers. I don't want to risk hundreds of dollars on a $30-$50 stand.
You literally have to experience it to get what’s so great about it. It’s the next big step in gaming and it’s not going away. It’s only going to get bigger in my humble opinion. It’s friggin’ amazing my dudez
If I worked for Sony I'd advise them to do something like oculus' deal with Samsung to distribute the gear VR, instead I'd tell them to produce a comfortable low cost headset & bundle it with a lot of different phone releases for free & have it work like the gear does, by having it link to a PS store app that shows compatible PSVR games that would work on modern phones. That way you are brute forcing people into trying it and will get a lot of people hooked, it'll also drum up a lot of sales for mobile conversions of VR games. Its a simple logic chain, they need exposure, the only exposure in VR is experience, you need to get as many people experienced as possible so logically it has to be done that way. Hell Its not even a hard thing to do, they just need to offer a small cut of digital sales to phone manufacturiers & they'll probably jump at the chance to make the damn headsets themselves, the PS4 controller connects to phones as well so that's covered. Its mind boggling they haven't done this.
Fuzzy Duo That’s quite an interesting idea and I see the merit in it. At this point I think it’s pretty much reached it’s tipping point where before long a friend of a friend will have one. It’s becoming more and more affordable and even as we peer over the edge of the next generation this technology will be impressive to someone even if they see it for the first time in two years. What do you think?
It's crazy how I watched you back in 2012 reviewing vita games with like 10 k subs and now you're almost at 200k and my go to for all thing s Playstation. Man how the times change.
Nintendo would be dead if they promoted the psvita and sorry to say but i dont like it and its game as well Games like Mario and pokemon feel very childish like fortnite Sony imo can be the best company in the world if they stop being arrogant and over priced
PS Vita isn't dead, it's getting a VR Support Of it's own with the Release of PS5. Think of it as the Next Step for Vita, The VITAR Augmented Reality/VR Support
@PT Hamilton I had no interest in psvr tried my friends I bought one the next day, its been so much fun. Still kinda new to it but favorite games and must haves in my opinion are astro bot and moss for a more relaxed game, beat saber is surprisingly fun I thought I was going to hate it and just got it with the bundle but it might be my favorite, until dawn rush of blood is one of the craziest gaming experiences I've ever had highly recommend. I'm a little conflicted on super hot, it's an amazing game and I'm really liking it but sometimes the tracking on throwing things or quick motions feels finicky, far point and borderlands are amazing but I feel like the aim controller is a must and I have been getting motion sick from borderlands 2 if I play for more than 30 minutes havent had that problem with any other games but hopefully just getting used to it still. I've been getting a little bored and jaded with games lately and psvr has realy sparked my interest in gaming again, it's amazing and I have at least 10-20 more games I want to pick up for it once I finish some.
@@mrhammers78#1 is Firewall, then Farpoint, Blood and Truth, Rush of Blood, Superhot, Invisable Hour, Moss, Wipeout, Doom, RE7, Tetris effect, Beat Saber, Battlezone, and The Persistance. All great games, that should keep you busy until the next big one comes out.
Just make sure you get your play area set up well, and that will keep the issues minimized. If you move out of the camera's frame the games get buggy, so make sure you are back far enough for the motion of movement the game requires and a dark room is helpful.
@Ehsan yaghuti You mean gaming *community?* Industry means The company who is selling the product. How in the Hell did you sign up on this site? *_(rhetorical question)_*
@@MysticRyan That's kind of you. In our country, I'm from Iran and in this country instead of community we call it industry and that's why I said industry.
Yes! You’ve said two incredible points: 1) Players in fear of buying PSVR because they abandoned the Vita; 2) A lot of players are upset because there’s so much propaganda of new games for PSVR instead of PS4. I, personally, am so happy for the growing library of PSVR games (don’t have PSVR but I intend to).
@steveXracer I'm sure it's better on the pro but it's pretty freaking good on the base ps4 too, not to mention that he can just buy it now and then play it on both ps4 and ps5.
It's already huge. Just because you live somewhere it's probably vastly more costly for YOU to own it, does not mean the rest of the world isn't into VR.
@@TheGauges420 Pretty harsh man, calm down. Most people aren't into VR. The sales should tell you that much even if people in your area have. The world isn't your neighborhood.
Anglo Scott They will release psvr 2 probably half a year after the PS5 release. Then most psvr owners with an install base of 4.2 million psvr owners will move over to psvr2
Coincidentally, I’m in the market for PSVR and found your overview pretty helpful. Fortunately, I still own the PS3 move bundle which includes extra controllers. I’m so hyped to play all the VR enhanced games I own, especially: Ace Combat, KH3, and GT Sport but I intend to buy Skyrim VR, Doom VFR, and Beat Saber in the near future.
Nice! Ace Combat is one game i'm jealous about not getting to play on PC, Resident Evil 7 is the other. I played RE7 on PSVR and it's amazing. Doom VFR i'd only recommend if it's really cheap on sale, it's not that good of a game. Skyrim and Beat Saber are awesome though and worth every penny. If you have the controllers and camera already you should totally go for it, it's worth it.
I just got my VR only a week ago from seeing this video and you hit the head on a lot of points of why I waited. The price and the horrid setup with the chords. But I was able to get mine super cheap from a 3rd party seller and I have most of the chords hidden in my entertainment center. Glad I finally pulled the trigger! 🙂
@@bcaballo I actually got it from a pawn shop. Only paid 180 for the headset and camera. Thats your best best. To get from offerup or Facebook marketplace. Just make sure you ask them how new it is. A lot of ppl want to get rid of VR after only a few uses cuz they either get bored or dont like the motion sickness
I'm getting my PSVR for Christmas and I'm trying hard not to plan too much but I'm already planning on preinstalling a few games so I can take it out at Christmas and give my family a shot at it.
@@rarechip that was the case for me. Tried it with a friends glasses on vs without {have the same prescription but i have no glasses) it was SO MUCH clearer
Traded my switch for one two months ago.. don’t regret it. Don’t play it as much as standard PS4 games but when I do it’s mind blowing. RE7 alone in VR is worth it, be ready to poop the pants.
I got one in 2021 to use on the PS5 and it's amazing! Got a V2 lightly used for £125, I already had the move controllers from PS3 which FYI were also amazing, I loved sports champions and at the time seeing 1:1 3D tracking was completely mind blowing
Great video! I’ve got to say that I dismissed VR for so long because I thought I could imagine what it would be like... then I tried it and it changed my mind completely. I immediately started looking to buy one for myself. Found a killer deal on Facebook marketplace and it’s sooo much fun. I find that the price now is completely reasonable especially if you already own a PS4!
When I bought the PSVR at launch I was skeptic honestly but I really, really wanted it to be good and man has it gotten me hooked on VR, can't wait for the PSVR2 whenever that is.
Just got mine for Christmas...paid 249 and came with 2 games and a demo disk...i love it, ordered a mic stand to put camera on...heard a lot of people do that and it helps with better tracking
@@Chipocheet They first had the price glitch last December. I placed an order but they canceled it and sent me an apology letter in the mail. Then in January the same price glitch comes back and they honor my canceled order. Probably the first and last time I'll ever buy something from QVC, unless they have more insane price glitches.
The reason that your wire setup is so messy is because you own an older version of the headset. However I own a newer model which uses less cables and is a smother setup. Just wanted to let you know that it has improved with time.
The main reason I haven't given over so much money for VR is motion sickness. It might affect me, it might not, but I'm not prepared to take the risk. I've heard a lot of players experience this.
I had extreme motion sickness for the first week or 2. Play in short 15-20 minute bursts on static games that have little to no motion then work your way up to games that have more motion over time. If you start to feel any motion sickness or fatigue. Stop playing immediately, wait an hour or two or until next day when you feel better. play, rinse and repeat. Play standing to get your VR legs under you for the first few days, Play with a fan blowing on your face to help trick your mind into thinking that you're moving. Chew ginger root, tablets, gum etc.Ginger has been shown to be effective in treating the nausea associated with motion sickness. Statik is a great starting game as you're just sat in a chair solving really unique puzzles. Astrobot is my personal favourite. To summarise, I could barely play for 5 minutes when i played for the first time. over the course of a week or 2 following the tips i've presented, I can now play a solid 10 hours straight on games such as Skyrim, RE7, Doom, Astrobot, Borderlands 2, Firewall zero hour etc. It just takes patience, and time for your mind to acclimate to what you're seeing. Hope this helps.
I too suffered from severe motion sickness but the more you play (short intervals and take breaks when you feel sick) the better you adjust and eventually it subsides to the point to you play for hours.
Best to try it before you buy if you are worried about motion sickness. I assume you have some condition that is causing you to be concerned in the first place tho, because if its just from reading some stuff off the internet, I wouldnt pay much attention to that. Most critics havent even tried it. What others have mentioned about playing a little at a time and building a resistance is absolutely true, should you need to get your “VR legs”.
Resident Evil 7 is epic in PSVR. And now with PS5 also supporting VR, it will be a good purchase since the PS4 version of PSVR also works with PS5, just like how PS4 game discs are going work with PS5. PS4 Lead Design Architect Mr Mark Carney has confirmed in his latest Wired magazine that it will be compatible with PS5. - quote from article- " Specifically, I ask if there will be a next-gen PSVR to go alongside this next console. “I won't go into the details of our VR strategy today,” he says, “beyond saying that VR is very important to us and that the current PSVR headset is compatible with the new console.” Source- www.wired.com/story/exclusive-sony-next-gen-console/
@@anterosauditore5850 PS4 Lead Design Architect, Mr. Mark Cerny has confirmed it in the latest Wired magazine interview. "For example, the next-gen console will still accept physical media; it won’t be a download-only machine. Because it’s based in part on the PS4’s architecture, it will also be backward-compatible with games for that console. As in many other generational transitions, this will be a gentle one, with numerous new games being released for both PS4 and the next-gen console". For players like me, I think the image of Virtual Reality + Gaming Experience has always been a wishful dream... to see it coming to life step by step is a huge experience. Although there is still much to do and a lot more potential to reach, I will always be supportive of the VR because ultimately VR is here to stay and will become essential in gaming one day in the future.
I never played computer games until VR...I played skyrim. I was hooked... psvr is very comfortable and good games and it does not break the bank. Now I have to buy a ps4, son wants his back.
I thought it was crazy how they added the light bar to the top of the dualshock4 controllers when ps4 first came out, these move controllers came out 10 years ago, and then in 2016 when PSVR came out, how they implemented the lights on both for the vr tracking, as if they had some idea all those years ago. However, I do feel like it's really old; kind of a basic idea that doesn't give you the most accurate tracking and lights interfering and stuff. They will surely upgrade with the next console generation and psvr2. I cant believe it's been about 3 years that I first played VR games
I heard Sony is also bringing out a new PSVR with PS5 and with the backwards compatibility on top of that, it's definitely making me hold off till then. I am sad I need to wait but also excited about Sony's upcoming things next year.
Angel Overlord / Yeah I’m hoping to buy the two together. Currently have an old make PS4 with no VR, no point in buying it until the new one comes out.
@William Little Yeah that's a smart choice but at least you can enjoy Sony's great games till then. I don't have the console but I'm really hyped for Shenmue 3, I've been waiting for that sequel for over a decade and a half and I never thought it would happen, Shenmue 1 was the main reason I got a Dreamcast lol.
I see a future where many of us are using VR like people use phones. Integrating phone calls, concerts, dj events, with visualizers, games, VR movies, etc. I see Many many people playing Vr. Is the future. Really immersive. Especially if more super-viruses are our fate for the next 100 years. The market demand is crazy high when everyone’s at stay at home orders. I can only imagine how it’ll look in 10-20-30 years. But I recommend it. I just got it a few months ago. Once you develop your sea legs, as they say, it’s amazing. So immersive, no video gives it justice. The PSVR lenses make an optical illusion where you feel Like you are inside a mini Imax theatre in your head. I can’t describe it.
That whole “taking turns” thing can’t be more true. Makes me remember the time I packed my PSVR stuff in a bookbag and took it to a friend’s house. Ended up setting it up in his basement, and yeah. Was a hell of a time, introducing him to VR.
As a day one owner, I can highly recommend PSVR. It still wows and amazes me. There are a ton of physical and digital games and many that are good to excellent. There are games for every genre and interest.
Doom VFR is pretty weak, but there are over 100 quality games on psvr. Something like Raw Data or Killing Floor (whichever one is a psvr game) might fill that itch.
I appreciate that you talk about socom,a forgotten classic. I also appreciate you talk about socom 4 willingly especially with all the hate its gotten, I personally liked it and have been playing since the first one on ps2 and also the PSP titles. the only one I didn't like much was confrontation being online competitive only. eh gonna miss that 3rd person shooter
A friend let me view Resident Evil 7 with his PSVR headset... I literally just sat stunned looking around the savepoint room for half an hour. That's how incredible VR is... don't even get me started on moving around the Resi 7 House, absolutely terrifying, totally immersive and utterly _REAL!_ It really has to be experienced to be understood.
I was invited to my friends house and finally tried out his vr. I was skeptical at first but man is it fun. At this point I am just going to wait for next gen and my only complaint is the control design should be updated.
Not until it becomes less glitchy. Ship controls are waaaaaay to sensitive. I'm currently playing in VR only if I feel like wondering around. If I'm to PLAY No Man's Sky, I do it in flat mode.
it works for the most part you just have to use normal when you go to the galaxy map, i'm really enjoying ships in VR but i'm using a normal controler in VR
I bought a PS4 VR set about 10 months ago. My experiences have been nearly universally positive. My best gameplay expeience would go to Superhot VR and WipEout Omega Collection, and most immersive visuals would be Gran Turismo Sport and Resident Evil 7. If I have one real negative it would be that the cable is permanently wired into the headset, and in a position that adds strain every time you set the unit down. It's likely going to be the main point of failure of the headset in the future.
Nice video, man. I bought my PSVR 2 years ago. Within 4 months I had built a 2nd PSVR setup in my living room to play multiplayer. It really is that awesome.
As a PC gamer, even I see the psvr as a good deal. I like that it's going to be backwards compatible with the 5. Makes me more likely to purchase a 4 in the near future.
@@Rdwini There's no actual official information on the next psVR, but mark cerny hinted at a version 2. I wouldn't recommend waiting if you're looking to play what's currently available though. The platform has really grown.
Cyberleaf yeah thank you very much. Although i love to have the best thing that is available on the market, but I can’t wait anymore to buy a VR. Thanks again.
Mikescort _ the only thing stopping them buying for PlayStation Is the oculus quest or rift S cause you can play some fun games on pc like plane sims and racing games plus pc can run higher res atm in the headset
Thanks for the positive video Mystic. The PSVR bundle is still a bit too pricy in my region, coming in at 11,000rand or $1,000bucks I'm going to have to wait possibly until PS5 is released or PSVR2 before hoping in. But to the rest of you I say dive in and help the medium grow
Help the medium grow?? These are billionaire companies help the medium grow my ass, about they lower the fucking price for ps4 owners?, I don't know but it seems a bit pricey $250 for that device I'm not sure I would even use given I barely use my oculus Samsung vr system that came with my galaxy note 9.
Where are you looking at 🙈 I checked the bundle for 3999 rand which is still pricey but 11 k is a rip off , psvr2 going to come in at a premium around that 8 to 10 k mark .
I have both the PSVR on a PS4 Pro and an Oculus Rift on a high end PC and I love both. The Pro's of PSVR for me compared to my Oculus Rift : - Comfortable for longer sessions and easy to put on even when the user wears glasses - Easy to set up without too many calibration steps - You can see the controller you are holding inside most games and that even goes for the dual shock controller and that makes it easier to find a certain button when you cannot see your controller for real. And a good example would be Battle Zone where I cannot see the XBox One controller on the Oculus. - More complete VR games available or normal games with VR extra's that other platforms do not have - Official Aim Controller, this is a must have for games like Borderlands 2 VR and other first person VR shooters Downside of PSVR - No room scale or full 360 tracking, so if your move controllers are not visible by your camera they will do weird stuff - You need to be aware of lights in the background because when holding the move controller in front of a light source the tracking might be off - Missing thumb sticks on the move controllers but many games still make good use of them. - Items in the distance might be a bit more blurry looking compared to my Oculus Rift because of the lower resolution, but it doesn't make the game play worse. - No modding, and a good example would be the game Beatsaber that has many mods for extra songs and customizing - I have the first model and over time the rubber of the headband on the back starts peeling off because of usage, but it still works fine. I do think the PSVR is worth it even more now because of the library of games available but before you buy I would advise to try one first if possible. I had some friends who thought it was the most amazing thing ever and some couldn't even wear it for 10 seconds when they where driving in a VR game. I also required to take breaks between short VR sessions at start and a session would be 15 to 20 minutes. But over time I am able to play for hours now and that is great when playing games like Skyrim VR. Not all games are great tho and it's best to check what content in a game is VR when it supports it. For example Moto Racer 4 supports VR but it is without AI to race against and that just sucks. If you want to decide to buy VR but are not sure to get it for PC or PS4, then first make sure your PC can handle it because a slow frame rate is the most horrible thing in VR. And for the rest it depends on what games you really want to play. If you want to play Minecraft VR, then you must go with PC, but if you want to play Resident Evil VII in VR then you have to have the PSVR. And even if games are available on both, sometimes the PSVR is better and sometimes the PC. Doom VFR plays best on PSVR with Aim controller, because of bad controls on the PC (no turning available with thumbstick). Beatsaber is a bit harder to choose, because the move controllers feel better then the Oculus touch controllers when holding your virtual lightsabers, but the precision and modding makes the PC version far better. Battle Zone looks more clear in the distance on PC, but in the PSVR version I can see my virtual controller. I hope this wall of text helps some of you.
Man, Mystic, you make great content. I’ve been on the fence with PSVR but now I’m convinced. You’re a really helpful, cool, down-to-earth guy so far as I can tell. You’re probably going to be one of my new favorite news and information channels, plus some fun side stuff too perhaps. Anyway, keep up the good work!
Slow adoption? What are you talking about? Psvr took off at launch and has dominated over the more polished pc hardware because it's so affordable! Most people buying it already had a ps4, and those that didn't realize that to do pc vr would cost way more than buying the ps4+psvr. Most users didn't have the minimum required specs, or what was required 2 years ago. 1050/1060 cards are in budget pcs now but weren't then. Even now you still aren't going to get pc vr for $700 if you don't already have a pc that can run vr.
Also, compared to Rift and Vive the PSVR setup is a breeze. Not having to deal with all the stuff that PCVR brings along with it (sensor setup, gpu drivers, performance tweaking, operating system problems, etc.) is also a plus. For non tech-savy people PSVR is just the most convenient option, now Rift S and WMR devices are trying to make that PCVR entry easier too, which is a good way to go imo. I say that as a Rift, Vive, Pimax 5k+ and soon to be Quest owner, PSVR is what got me into VR in the first place. I've sold it because the superior tracking and better controllers of PCVR are preferable to me, it'll always be one of my favorite VR systems though.
Yeah I kept reacting every time he mentions that its not doing well or its high price ^_^ Ehhm... it’s doing very well, and it doesnt cost that much. He even puts up the 4M+ units sold. That IS a healthy number! For a new tech, any company would be pleased with those numbers, and Sony have said as much. @Nils I actually found my Vive setup to be a breeze! Certainly felt like less cables, and everything just worked. There was no drivers/performance/OS tweaking/issues. I only got the PSVR this week (in anticipation of Dreams) and even as a tech person I was feeling a bit overwhelmed with the amount of cables involved! I mean there was nothing difficult about it either I guess. The SDE has been the most impressive thing about the PSVR so far for me. For something so inexpensive and first gen. But in equal measure, the resolution is trash.
Ok opinion time. I think the next PSVR model should have interior tracking as well as the camera. Also, I think the move controllers should have joycons or whatever they're called. Still a great system though, totally worth it.
It's like showing people vr, you want to see people praise it because you love it yourself and it's so cool, plus people are so hesitant about it so it's good to see people try it and realize it's amazing.
Another great thing about the PSVR that no one ever talks about is you can watch 3D Blurays on it! Of course it's a dying format and most people don't really care for it, but it's crazy that they actually bothered putting this function in there at all. It's like actually sitting in a movie theatre with a big screen! Like I owned several 3D films from bluray combo packs and it's awesome that I'm finally getting to try some out for once. Like Doctor Strange looked amazing in 3D. And to hear that the PSVR will be compatible with next Gen consoles makes me so happy to continue investing in such an amazing product!
I was a VR nonbeliever until I just went ahead and bought one. I was nervous that I wouldnt like it or Id suffer from motion sickness. All i can say is that I had no idea what I was missing. Its really better than you think it would be. If your on the fence....dont be....go buy it.
Last year, I went to Akihabara in Japan and saw a set of second-hand PSVR for around 28 US dollars. I thought to myself, even though I already had a Meta Quest 2, and I'd heard that the quality of the PSVR isn't as good as the Quest 2, I couldn't resist the incredible price. Even though I had a PS4, a second-hand PSVR with the camera included was still over 200 dollars. This time, the price had dropped to less than 30 dollars. I immediately bought it. I have a PS3, so I already had the Move controllers. But even though I bought it, I kept it in the corner and didn't play it. I continued to use my Quest 2 every day. Recently, I tried setting it up and found some PS4 exclusive games to play. OMG! It's amazing. While its resolution isn't as good as the Quest 2, the quality of its exclusive games is fantastic. I really regret not buying the PSVR Aim Controller when it was also very cheap in Japan at that time.
Psvr is awesome! Every time I play it. I can’t believe that they actually did it. Incredible technology. And to think. This is only step 1. Mind blowing. If you have not tried vr. What are you waiting for.
You need to experience it before you understand what’s so great about it. I have some friends that have it and I got to try it for the first time and loved it. I’m currently saving up for my own!
I feel like the PSVR is what I felt when I first went from having Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo and then purchasing a PlayStation. The technology for gaming completely leaped. And this is the best way I can describe the feel for When I got my PSVR this past December
Picked it up last weekend for $100, honestly for how old the tech is it's still very fun. Wipeout is incredible and star wars squadrons has a full campaign that feels like it was made for VR
Am waiting for a new version of PS VR with better cable management. Once PS5 rolls out (VR Ready), i believe a new & better VR unit will come out aswell, and then I'll become a PS VR user 😊
I wouldn't count on it. PSVR 2 will most likely be a year later, especially considering last week we got the official announcement that PS5 will be backwards compatible with PS4 games & PSVR will work on PS5. They wouldn't of mentioned that at the first official announcement of PS5 if they were planning to have a VR2 launch with it.
@@HereticDuo They won't mention anything about PS VR 2, especially now that PS5 is hot because of marketing (releasing/announcing 2 expensive units close each other it's gonna hurt the sales) . Most likely to announce new VR after 3 years of PS5 released date. However am pretty sure that they will release a new PSVR with better cable management at some point.
Got mine for about 200€ on black friday sale. Got the move controllers for about 65 € right away with it. It came with the 2nd mega pack, games that were included were Everybody's golf, Elder Scrolls Skyrim, Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, AstroBot Rescue Mission and VR Worlds. I'm really enjoying it since I got Beat Saber and Blood & Truth, awesome games and I'm looking forward to future games that will come out later in 2020 and beyond :D
I remember the Christmas before 2019 when I got psvr my grandma came to my house and then she played creed rise to glory cuz it was one of the games in the little vr bundle and she was freaking out it was so funny😂
I have had one an the #1 problem with it is that it doesn’t want to center right, so if you wanna play firewall VR jus be aware that you aren’t gonna be able to move outside of that small blue square without your controller just completely not reacting at all.
It's not just a VR experience, it's an actual game. One character for each role, enemies to fight in an assortment of missions, each person having different but equally important positions that all need to work together and communicate well to win out in space stealth missions, space fights, etc etc. Absolutely a god game, ubisoft make better vr games than non tbh with stuff like that and werewolves within.
Skyrim and RE7 are a must, i played Skyrim since day one on the 360 and bought the Special edition on X1 and must have spent 1000's of hours on it but playing in VR is a whole different experience i just wish they would consider GTA 5 and Alien isolation VR pLz!.
Great video! I actually did buy psVR in late 2019 with an epic bundle I couldn't resist on Black Friday weekend...It came with 5 games: Resident Evil, Skyrim, Everybody's Golf, PlayStation Worlds and the Astro Bot game...All for just $300 Canadian!! Can you believe I never got around to playing it though...and it was sitting there!! I already had 2 Move controllers from the PS3 era, so I'm good to go...Now that I'm back from winter vacation, gunna set this up and give it a whirl! I'm excited! And thankyou for saying it supports 3D BluRay! I thought you need a special blu ray player for that, and the TV, and the glasses...No wonder 3D movies never took off at home, but now maybe they can make a comeback in VR? 😆
for those who do not own ps4vr, you dont need to face the tv, actually u dont even need the tv turned on, u need to face the camera. So it is very easy to move the setup for more room
Despite being innovative some like me find the low resolution display not acceptable. Sure many people wont notice it but I'll wait for a higher resolution version.
The other big negative is that if you have the original PSVR set, you can't use HDR while it's hooked up (the VR processing unit doesn't pass HDR signals).
Just bought a used PSVR and we are having a blast with it. I also ordered the move controls so I can move my hands in VR. I was surprised with resolution since I used Daydream VR before I expected a massive screen door effect and grainy graphics but I was amazed that the SD effect can hardly be seen in low light settings and graphics are detailed. Over all if you have not tried it I encourage you to due so you will love it.
If You Guys Want A Pretty Cheap Way To Get PSVR Than You Should Get The Refurbished PSVR From Gamestop For $150, The New PS Camera Around $40, And 2 Motion Controllers For Around $60 For Both At Some Stores.
He convinced me to play some vr tonight. I haven't in a while because one, it tends to be kinda tedious to put on the headset and stuff instead of just launching a game after work or something, and second, I have the first model that doesn't support HDR passthrough or HDCP 2.2 or whatever so it lowers the RGB to YUV420 and crap and the colors aren't as great; very noticeable on a Qled TV and ps4 pro. Another reason I kept it unplugged is because the processor box was always on when the console was, even in rest mode. I fall asleep watching TV and it put itself in rest mode and my box now permanently makes a noise with its fan when it used to be silent and I dont want it breaking. It was easy to buy games for at first, I almost bought all of em because there weren't that many. There are so many that have came out, I have no idea what's good or what to buy now, but i have over 45 vr games already. Beatsaber is super intense. A bit difficult at first but then you get good but the levels on insane are exactly that. My wrists will hurt and I sweat soo much that the carpet gets wet from where I'm standing
