I'm ~500 master rumours deep in a quetzin grind and just before I got the chin pet so I decided to use your set-up for only the 3 tasks as I'm also hunting herbi still and so far it has been pretty fast! Also in case you're curious I did some math and the exact distrubtion between herbi-kebbit-salamanders is 3/8-3/8-1/4 in the long run
@@Rakupenda There's probably more elegant solutions but I treated it as a markov model with transition matrix: k h s k 1/3 1/3 1/2 h 1/3 1/3 1/2 s 1/3 1/3 0 and solved for the steady state: k = h (= 1/3k +1/3h + 1/2s = 2/3k + 1/2s) s = 1/3k + 1/3h = 2/3k k + h + s = 2k + s = 1 then: 1 = 2k + 2/3k -> 3 = 6k + 2k = 8k -> k = 3/8 (= h) since s = 2/3k -> s = 2/3 * 3/8 = 6/24 = 1/4
The wiki has a great guide for this, and block lists. It actually works out better xp/hr if you do expert instead of master but you’ll obviously offset the amount of rewards you receive. The pet chance is the same though if you’re hunting for it specifically.
Im spending all day today setting up my block lists! I did 99 at Herbiboar and now want to push my favorite skills XP even higher. Thanks for this video. Got me excited to start.
I think one thing people don't talk about enough is the fact that hunter sacks don'r check your levels when rolling rewards. so, early game ironmen can in fact get much better rewards from them than from wintertodt
"Note that certain drops scale with certain skill levels such as Woodcutting; players with a higher Woodcutting level has a better chance of obtaining a higher tier log. However, it is possible (though very unlikely) for a player with a low skill level to obtain such items (i.e. a player with Woodcutting level 30 to receive a Yew log.) Gratz. I'm going to hit 200m in a couple weeks on my uim, did a solid 90m+ exp on herbi before switching to rumors. Still a little salty about how op rumors are but I've had fun overall lol
I would imagine "banking" herblore xp is even harder on an UIM given you have to manage the herbs AND seeds with your limited space. Herbi might still be the better play for you, idk. I'm betting the new herblore activity will be the Mahogany Homes of herblore (more xp per herb, but takes longer) and I'll be in the same boat with 120m herblore done before that activity came out. I've been stockpiling herbs since it was announced and currently sitting on 12m+ xp banked. Been itching to use it up!
the final herbiboar is definitely at spot #6, that's always the worst one, so of course the boar would end things all the way over there! Great video :D
i gott moonlight moth from wolf while setting up the block list and to solve the run energy issue i just used vile vigour + moths to restore prayer. very ez. almost feel like not blocking them :) but I'll continue as directed.
Side note, you can also recharge your Quetzal whistle with any raw hunter meat (many of which are also given in the reward packs), such as raw kyatt or pyre fox meat (that is, if you find better sources of cooking xp)
@@Rakupenda yea that's a factor a lot of people don't take into consideration enough. whether or not you currently have alchs or fletching stuff to do on an iron can affect which method is currently best
The nets and ropes can both be stored in the Huntsman's kit. I didn't use it because of the extra inventory management. Much simpler to just leave them in the inventory.
hey, thanks for all the useful information. I have a question about the use of tecu salamanders. I've done a trial run of moonlight antelopes and to hit the drop rate for rumour peice this task took me 3:55. To hit the tecu salamander rate it took my ~4:50 (I included travel time to each). Seeing that moonlight antelopes are great food for irons, (and seems to be a faster task aka more sacks/hr), is there any other reason why you would choose Tecu's over moonlight antelopes?? thanks again
Ultimately I opted for less inventory management to make 200m as brain dead as I could. Don't have to deal with the antlers, collect logs, equip/unequip teasing stick, and there is more banking to empty fur/meat sack 'cause now 2/3 tasks fill them up.
Here's the B-roll footage I used. It's only a little over 30 minutes long, but you get the idea. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GbsWQay5ZsE.html
Welcome to OSRS! The teak and mahogany logs from the loot reward sacks will be converted into planks and used for construction. It's not that I gained the xp, it's that I have acquired the necessary materials ("banked") for use later. Banking xp is a large component for Ironman skilling as we don't have the GE to simply buy more stuff like the planks needed to train construction. Hope this helps clear things up.
Strictly by highscores there are less people with high herb then there is with prayer . 122 hours extra is not bad considering how much more herbs you get. You can translate all that into bossing, rumors arw great but im still going for at least 100m of just herbibore once i max my ironman at the end of the year lmao
For context: I'm 120.7m herb with another 13m banked waiting for Varlamore pt 2's herb minigame = 133.7m herb. A lot of the herblore experience has come from pvm sources but an equally large part has come from herb runs. I have 62m prayer + 18.8m banked = 80.8m prayer. Banking herblore xp is severely time gated behind herb runs because you're limited to one every 80 minutes. And like training farming (because it IS farming) -- the actual time invested into doing it is relatively small but it's spread over a long period of time, years even. Compare that to banking cooking, where if you wanted to you could focus and "knock out" that skill in relatively short time of a few months. You simply can't camp herblore like that for an "easy" front page 200m like the cooking. I argue that's why there are more 200m cooking than herblore. There's comparable amounts of people with high prayer as there is high herblore; herblore requires 100m to be front page where prayer is about 90m. My prayer should catch up to herblore with the 200m slayer grind and from there I will need to actually dedicate time to banking prayer to finish it. We should weigh that 122 hours saved by imagining they were put towards solely towards gathering herbs (herb runs): each run takes approximately 10 minutes and ten herb patches per run, ~9 herbs per seed on average is 65,880 herbs. At a minimum I plant Irit (108.8xp ea) which means that is at least 7.1m herb xp. With that framing, now it's like I only spent 3m herb xp for 17m prayer and 17m cooking (+ more). There's also nothing stopping you from spending those extra 122 hours doing post-200m herbi for just banking herb xp. You'll get about 3m herblore doing that. The 200m all journey is focused on the long term. It is a game of years, not mere months for "quick" 200m front page flexes. I need to think about grinds in the context of all the skills, not just herblore.
I'm curious, with the good meat and moonlight antler drops from moonlight antelope, could it not be reasonable to block tecu salamanders, and do moonlight antelope instead as the third?
@@Rakupenda ah cool. To me it just looked similar since its only one letter off. Then again I don’t know any Japanese, so didn’t make the connection there.
Okay, so I accidently reset my block list..., and then as I'm almost done completing it I get Queztin pet at 126 rumors completed. I'm not an ironman so I might just go do herbivore only for the pet lol... What do you think? Is there any incentive of me doing more rumors?
Did you do many rumors before they removed kebbit skipping? I did around 1700 elite rumors with kebbit skipping for my pet and was averaging over 250k hunter exp an hr. Its a shame they removed it imo, but I’m just glad I got the pet beforehand :p
I did not do the elite kebbit skipping, no. I did have about 2000 rumours before they reworked the task list, so they were very light on the herbi/kebbit tasks because I had six tasks to cycle between instead of three at that time.
I can't do rumors until I get my chin pet!! :( I figure grinding 99 hunter thru rumors is silly if I'm trying to get the baby chin. Hopefully he comes soon. Which I highly doubt :(
Unfortunately chin pet rate is about 25m xp. You *could* do the four rumour setup (don't block red chins) and do rumours until you get Quetzin or chin pet, then block red chins & finish out rumours 'til Quetzin.
@imanoobtuber i dont play 10 hours a day i have a job and a girlfriend Lol. He made a really nicely done video and clearly has intelligence and things to contribute to society. And whether it be a job, or a runescape video it's still doing more than you are when you call random people you don't know a virgin for doing a 200m. Even if his only contribution to society is a runescape video, he still did a good job with it, and that's all that matters. But im sure he does plenty that you know nothing about and youre just an unhappy dickhead online lmao. I noticed youre subbed to a pick up artist on youtube, good luck finding someone to endure you!
