As someone who has learned cg mainly through trial and error (and dying over and over again for hours) this is honestly the best cg guide not only for ironmen but in general. I even learned some tips with prep that I didn't even know before and I have almost 100 kc. Great guide and subbed.
After over 370 attempts, and around 270 kc, I can attest this is the guide which made t2 prep the easiest for me. I was able to bring my preps down to a consistent 5:15 using the strategies outlined here.
got my first gauntlet kc today! im a main and ive had this quest done for a long time but im getting back into the game and wanna get better at pvm so i decided to learn more bosses!
I've done like 75 attempts with 20kc and this taught me several things I wasn't aware of before so thank you for the tips. Also, the snake comparison for the tornadoes is so apt that I wish I'd watched your video before ever trying CG because that explanation fits my learned understanding of how to run them so well that it would have saved me a lot of trial and error.
8:21 you can also use the "hide dead npcs" option of the "entity hider" plugin so the monster is gone once it has 0 hp, no need to shift click through the dying monster
This is definitively the best guide for Corrupt Gauntlet. I've gotten over the hurdle of the first dozen kills and can confirm everything said here is phenomenal information. Instant sub.
hands down one of the best guides, the one thing I might also suggest is to eat when switching weapon and you'll usually only lose one tick. the steel skin has been helping me so much though, thanks!
my man ... the legend... this has been by far the most simple and yet thorough guide i've seen and i've seen many... u just gained yerself a sub, many many thanks
Nice guide. Lot of good info I didn't know during prep. I think the only thing I didn't see was that you can combine your potion doses, as you only make a 3 dose potion & it can be made into 4, often saving you an extra inventory spot.
Great guide - one nitpicky thing is that for the floor patterns part (around 16:20), it's actually not just > 1/3; it's the first 1/3 of health that has one set of patterns, the middle 1/3 that has another set, and the final 1/3 that has the complex looking ones (which was labeled correctly). For example, you'll never get the patterns that have the "gutters" on both sides in the first 1/3 of the health bar. This may have been a recent change since i've only been doing gauntlet for the past month or so, but after 600 KC I can say this very confidently!
Thanks for pointing this out! When making this video I didn't notice there was a difference between first 1/3 and second 1/3 because they are so similar, but it does clearly state in the wiki that there are 3 phases. Love when you guys point out these things for me so I can make more accurate information in the future, thanks again :)
Awesome guide! Struggling to get my first CG kill even though I'm breezing through regular Gauntlet, so hopefully this helps me get over that final hurdle!
For anyone mastering this method and the boss. Consider doing T1 armour with T3 weapon runs. Once I switched to this i have never reset since. I never ran out of food killing the boss and only died when making mistakes. The max hit on you will be 13 with T1 armour
Awesome guide. I wouldn't overlook the Halberd though. It's a bit harder to use than the other two weapons, but it has the highest DPS to make up for it... doubly so for an ironman that has Piety, but not Rigour or Augury.
Yeah it has a lot of potential for damage, I think its pretty difficult to actually get the most out of that damage though because you are spending more time trying to navigate the floor. So for me personally I just really don't enjoy using it and think for learning gauntlet it made more sense to focus on the Mage Range Combo.
Very nice and thorough guide! Although, I disagree with dismissing the Hunllef helper plugin entirely, as it does not require any maintenance as long as you don't get trampled (which, after your first few tries, shouldn't happen). The "babysitting" (as you called it) required, consists of pressing a button as you take the first hit. It made a world of difference to me because I could focus on everything else and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone know to the Corrupted Gauntlet.
I'm glad it worked for you, I personally just found it easier to listen for the sound effect. But there definitely still is merit in using the plugin if it helps you!
I'm around 1200kc I've always used the hunllef helper plugin and I always recommend it to players looking to learn it. Take advantage of every little thing you can
If it helps, good for you. I never tried it because I watched some videos where people were using it and it sounded very annoying and bad having a ugly voice repeatedly saying 3 2 1 mage/range throughout the fight. The game sound and visuals are enough for me. When you learn the mechanics properly you can tell when you have to switch prayers, it's just a 4 attack cycle after all (similar to Hydra which is 3 attacks).
This is a phenomenal guide as others have said. Great info with good tips and tricks in a great format. You have a good tone for teaching as well, some of the most well described information from any guide i've watched for any content subbed for more
i have watched a couple of guides of CG but to no good, i tryed again and again, and only in this guide i found out some of the errors i made and why i alwasy run out of shard to make armour or pots, im not currently playing osrs due to personal reasons, but in 2 or 3 days when im back, the first thing im going to do is go to CG to try my luck, amazing guide honestly
rigour but mostly augury definitely isn't needed, I've had a few runs where I was running low on prayer so I had to use eagle eye and mystic might to conserve, the most important thing is making absolute sure you are switching your weapons as soon as the hunllef prayer switches otherwise it might just out dps you and run you out of food
I was hoping for a bit more than basic info from your barrows guide but this one is incredible! with proper stats and all considering lack of prayers for us beginners.
Nice! Will test out corrupted gauntlet again can do reg gauntlet but kept getting slaughtered at CG I've heard t2 armour makes it so much nicer so imma really try to get the extra stuff for t2, I think most of my deaths are trying to dps versus eat and spam clicking when running from tornados instead of just one or two clicks in the direction I'm going thanks for guide imma re watch certain parts until I'm proficient at it just a matter of time before getting it down
Yeah, tier 2 armour makes a world of difference in your survivability. With the tornados it can be overwhelming at first but trying not to spam click when running from them is crucial, keep at it man you got this :)
Great guide. If I don't get both tier 3 weapons by the time I'm done with the 3 west or east side rooms should I restart, or go to the north 3 rooms and hunt for the tier 3 upgrade there? Thanks.
It really depends how much time you have left, but if you have 1 tier 3 weapon and a tier 2 weapon you can still definitely get the kill it will just be harder.
While I have never done this before I recently did see a video by Solo Mission where he does corrupted gauntlet on a 1 defense pure with no armor lol. That being said the better your offensive stats the easier time you are going to have. Good luck!
I would say you can do this with lower stats, look up 'lowllef' he has 230 kc with 80 mage and range. Also if you guys have decent melee stats and piety you can 100% use halberd. It's faster attack speed and you have piety for boosted damage. It also means you only ever need 2 demi bosses, with forcing mage and range you often need to kill 3 to get the 2 orbs (e.g. you need to find 2 melee and 1 mage)
15:25, you state tornadoes do not count as part of his 4 attack cycle. They do count. It's only the stomp that does not count. Source: I've done CG and wiki.
did you really need to add "ironman friendly" for a minigame that specifically does not require any items?that's like calling a bottle of water "vegan water" lol
i mean, sometimes guides will recommend shit like rigour and augury when you really don't need em and obviously aren't able to easily get your hands on those as an iron
