We just started a new series called "Offroad Escapes". The whole point of the series is to bring you along as we experience new riding destinations in hopes that you can discover somewhere new to explore the unpaved.
We definitely picked a great place to start this series! Our stay at the Western Front in Saint Paul, VA was better than we even expected. The hotel provided not only great amenities, but it was like they built the entire thing with riders in mind. Quite literally even the chandelier was made of an ATV frame! To make a good situation great, the entire town is ATV friendly, and you are able to ride right from the hotel to the trailhead.
Speaking of the trailhead, Mountain View ATV trail was an absolutely amazing trail. It had everything from steep mountain climbs, to rocks, to dirt and mud. This specific trail along the Spearhead Trail system is nestled conveniently between two towns...two ATV friendly towns. This makes it extremely convenient to start your day in Saint Paul and ride to Coeburn for some food and a break. The trail consists of approximately 118 miles of trails and loops, allowing for those who want a more technical trail to take advantage of the black trails while allowing those who wish to ride easier trails, the option to skip them.
