The thing about the long term gratification of virtuous acts is that you have to believe Aristotle that you I'll feel better about doing the right thing. The other problem is that people who don't do the right thing will not necessarily feel bad in the long run because of the magical effects of rationalisation. Their mind will create a moral framework where they are not guilty and will never feel that way. Aristotle begins with premisses that one should believe (good deeds will lead you to a good life, bad deeds will haunt you forever) in order to be convinced, but this is not necessarily true in reality. So how do you deal with the magical effects of rationalisation with relation to ethics?

Its Always interesting to hear, how people can even come to the Idea of asking, why one should for example be virtuos, as If they knew what they are speaking of and would raise a Sound Question. It is indeed no Sound Question at all, at least for those who know the meaning of the Words spoken about. For the Question, why one should be virtuos, is Like asking, why one should be good, further including, why one should do, what is good? This follows from the Nature of virtues being Always Something good. So If one would understand, what one is about to say, one would immediatly understand, that this and such Questions are redundant. There is No possible direct benefit of doing badly, for it is absurd.

I believe true happiness can be decorrelated from pleasure gratification, it' something in my opinion worth debating
