In this video I talk about why the BMW 650i is an excellent buy for someone who is looking for a V8. 0:00 Intro 0:12 Engine & Specs 1:44 E63/E64 Shape 2:50 Revolutions 3:06 Interior and Comfort 4:27 Value for Money 6:20 Conclusion
That is one of my favourite legend BMWs of all time absolutely love the style of the BMW 650i very unique shape and still looks good to this day I'm definitely definitely going to buy one
They wil only get cheaper and cheaper. It's bmw that means it's trash. Your lucky if you get 150,000 km on the car with out any engine issues. My friend just purchased one from the dealer ship with 20,000 km and it burns oil like crazy. Screw that garbage I'd rather have mercedes M113 engine. Bullet proof and reliable and will destroy any bmw on the roads today
I’ve always loved this generation of 6-series because it looks so different 😍 I would like to have a 650i or even the base straight-six petrol 👍🏻 Here in Finland all cars are very expensive and this too. 20 000€ at least. Hello from Finland! 😊
I have a 630i with the silver N52.. I considered the V8, but tbh..I have had numerous TVRs, a Corvette etc.. and reliability was what I needed. And mine hasn’t missed a beat, leaked or smoked in 5 years ownership. Mine is on 84k miles now. I did ‘slightly’ lower the suspension with Eibach suspension, and replaced the oe alloys with some 20” Veemann wheels, plus bimecc spacers. Looks just about right.. Awesome cars
I love the E63! We have a 630i in the family and it's a brilliant thing. I'd have expected a quicker 0-60 from the 650 though? The tested figures for the 635d come out around 5.8 seconds to 60 and 14 to a 100 mph.
I like this colour and the wheels. Mine is black and does look good. Has the elipsoidals which I love. I might have to add spacers to get the wheels out to the same as these. I love the look but I want to change the front bumper to this type. As for the value I see it rising but only the M6 will rise significantly I think. They made over 100,000 of them. The number of people scared to own one will damp the price appreciation too. I'm a long time mechanic on high quality cars and do all my own work. I've had and have many BMs. I knowthem pretty well. I love most things about them but some of the bad points are just disgraceful. BMW should be ashamed of themselves. They are as unreliable as their reputation indicates. Even the transmissions give more trouble than the same trans in other models. I have had and have a lot of Jags too and to suggest they are unreliable compared to BMs is laughable.
Although I'm looking to go up from a 645 to 650 convert stratus grey with matching roof an heads up display... The tax n insurance it a vast increase though.. I'm really double thinking... For the 30 extra bhp...and as ur mentioning the same issues now in the engine as my 45, I'm really thinking... The coolant... Pipe can be temporary solved with plenty radweald as for the seals... Forty seal conditioner works well again temporary... But we will c
got a mate who just offered me one of these for 2k needs mot and a service and brakes and an airbag light. i may buy it and just use it for track days but dunno with the price of fuel these days!
I took mine on track at Castle Combe! I lowered it and had spacers on the OEM wheels and it handled so well! A lot better than I was expecting. Brakes were good (apart mine had a bit of warp) and you could get to some good speeds even tho Combe isn't a fast track could get to about 130mph on the straight! If you gutted it out did a bit more work with a proper geo setup, cage etc would actually be a good track car.
People either love or hate e63 BMWs. I love em, I have 630i 2010 LCI, fully loaded HUD, panoramic, adaptive headlights CIC, sportseats, paddles, sportpack bonnet etc. I considered 2009 650i it was 3k euro more when I was buying mine (used) but I mainly drive in the city so 130kg less is a big difference and since you don't go over 150 in the city there isnt much differance when it comes to performance. V8 sound lovely but for me bmw was always knows for their Inline-6. love the sound performance is good enought. Fairly reliable car and beautiful. Mine is in carbonschwarz metallic, black interior. Love it.
I always hated them. Then 3 days ago i went to the dealership, test drove an 05 645ci, and brought it home. The design grew on me very quickly, especially after hearing the exhaust.
It's comments like that, that make people resent the BMW M crowd and their fan boys. What next? Remove the factory fitter 'M' badges from car because "they just don't look right on non-m cars". The car would have to be left completely standard!
Absolutely nothing wrong with quad exhausts on non M cars. Just because it’s not an M doesn’t mean you shouldn’t kit it up as such. So many modified non M cars that look WAY better than the M6. Look at the Prior Design kit for example.
Awesome car. I have a 2010 E63 630i. Back in the day I put 2cm wheel spacers on it. I've only had Bridgestone Potenza RE050 Runflat tyres for 12 years. This year I've moved to Michelin Pilot Sport 4 Runflats on the rear axle, as Bridgestone discontinued the OEM tyres. But it was a mistake: handling and stability have gone south 😕😕. What runflats would you recommend?
TBH I only had the runflats that came with the car so can't recommend any. They were Dunlopp sport, they were ok for handling and ok in the rain but the new standards seem a lot better. Have you thought about moving away from runflats?
@@zsb707 I think any premium tyres would feel better than runflat tyres so I'd also recommend that you move away from runflats if you want to have sporty handling and smoother ride.
hello the chrome bar of the side turn signals go black, did you have it or please? or did you paint it? sorry if my english is not very correct i am french i liked your video by the way continue like this! thank you
Thanks for the kind comments! I painted them myself and actually it is part of a different video I did it - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-u4W-U5BgOL0.html
@@qenzxy No, my car is the 650i sport which came dechromed around the windows. They all come with chrome kidney grills and the side marker piece. If you are unsure about sanding and painting then you could try buy some second hand ones/extras and give it a go, then you also have the originals.
Hey I am looking to get a E63 as well but I don’t know which to pick. The 630i has the N52 Engine that is extremely reliable and can sound really good with modifications and in terms of ownership cost it should be much lower than the V8. On the other hand I am a big sound guy so I will always prefer a car if it sounds better. Would you say your N62 sounds so good that it’s worth getting over an N52? I once drove a N53 and freaking loved it but I never heard a N62 V8 in Person so it’s hard to decide.
If u know how to swim just jump in the water Definitely this car it's amazing and to be honest I don't have any issues with mine But let's say something will break it won't cost a lot to repair Go for it buddy it's so much fun
Funny story, latest video update on the splitter keep an eye out😅. In regards to speed bumps and being lowered haven't had any issues with clearance at all! Speed bumps are fine and so is everything else, BUT in regards to who put it on and something happened, a garage put it on and clearly not that well lol.
Whatever you do, subscribe to Timm's BMW and Repair channel on RU-vid. He is brilliant and will let you know all the potential problems and solutions for the 650i
Fyi at some points I definitely wasn’t driving “sensible” lol it was over a 1k mile round trip, up I-5 over the ashland and grants pass to just below Eugene OR, my 650i bullied everything that got in the way. Even a 750li (trucks and cars hauling ass) lol kid just wasn’t about what his car was about yet.. for the most part I drove 80mph…. Cause that’s what the car wants to do when your cruising, and this was in “luxury” mode the whole way. Haha never even put it in “sport” mode. There was a Z4 in front of me today at a dead stop. He took off and I perused lol 360hp 360trq how can you go wrong? 2 door coupe with that bangle azz lol car is amazing and glad I had the chance to own one befor they history. This car eats the road for breakfast
@@MTAExperiencesstrange that... Bmw say u get better fuel consumption on the 50 to the 645...but I get 25 -27 at 65 on motorrways... N urban 18 but driving in manual auto.... Hmmmm
Good video. But the main problem is mechanic shops refuse to work on the vehicle. They are turning away money cause they don't want to deal with the headaches with that motor. At least this is here in the US. I've had 3 shops turn me away on work for my vehicle alone. I've sold off all my other bmws. My 6 series is the last and I may end up selling it as well due to this issue.
Damn, this is not an issue in the UK lol. We have the other way around where sometimes even if they are unsure they will try and take on the work and that's not always a good thing. But I haven't had any issues like this. My local garage deals with a lot of my mechanics and if I need something specialist like when I did the gearbox service that was 25 minutes away from me at a BMW Specialist.
Bought one 2 months ago, found multiple shops ready to work on it. Put it in to have a decent check up and do the valve cover gaskets and timing cover gaskets. You speak for the entire country while it’s probably your localized area. Turn away business’s haha 🤦♂️
The V8 is exactly why you should NOT. NOT buy the 650 , or 750. The V8s are complete junk. Be prepared for $10.000 - 15.000 in repairs after 60.000 miles. It will break , and it will be extremely expensive. Also has 2 computers, 35 sensors, an electronics nightmare of problem's and costs. In reality BMW makes junk. Nothing they build is reliable. Don't forget when your broken down you need another car. If you own a BMW you need to own 2 cars.
Never had an issue w mine and I have a few of them. I collect BMW V8. I really think that it comes down to ownership and maintenance. Yes I agree they are more expensive than other cars to maintain the parts and more expensive of course, but all in all through thorough maintenance on all my cars and I don't beat on them like a lot of people do with these cars they have ran fine for me. the other side of it also comes down to whether you can work on the cars or not yourself. I think it's a just a matter of these cars aren't for everybody and to do research and choose wisely and make sure that that's the right car for you. I have thankfully taken the time to get to know each of my car's individually mechanically. So I don't completely agree with your comment I absolutely respect it tho brother. Have a good day brother stay safe!
Absolute rubbish, it all comes down to if a car has been looked after during it's lifetime. This is the same for expensive cars. If you are able to work on them yourself then considerable amounts of money can be saved when things do go wrong.
@@coolphoenixk No, it was an amazing car but it's still cheap and I could buy it again anytime. The maintenance of these older cars is expensive with all the underside components corroding away. An V10 M6 would be something I buy in the future if I go back to this chasis.
