Love this quote..... "There are two ways to have the tallest building; you can carefully & patiently build the tallest building... or you can tear down everyone else's buildings." You keep building your tower mate 👌🏼 Love the channel and all that you do 🤌🏼🔥
Another coffin dodger here. I enjoy your stuff because it always degenerates into a shitshow and it's hugely entertaining. I love the fact that it's so obviously genuine.keep up the good work!
Here in New Zealand we call that stuff “ tall poppy syndrome “ - knocking down others to bring them to your level!. It’s really childish but happens every day because people want to be better than thy actually are. Appreciate your honesty, it’s taken 20 years of self employment to see it’s rife everywhere 👍 Keep up the work Cheers 🍻 Rod and Trina
As a fellow coffin dodge I'm 61. I love your attitude to work ethic and the complete trust you have within your family of all things on wheels. And I hope you and the gang stay well.
Hi Rick great video as usual. It is amazing how many people have to slag others off to try and make them self look good, but proof is in the pudding and most of them can’t do what you can do so rise above them and ignore them.Quality will always shine through.
I never realised I was a coffin Dodger, there must be a few of us watching you. I can completely understand where you were coming from regarding choosing an engine builder. It happens in all kinds of ‘technical' jobs, some people have no integrity. Over nearly 50 years in the construction industry I’ve met many people who have a high opinion of themselves, only to have the ability to fuck things up. They all get found out in the end
Yes. "Integrity" is the word, isn't it? Not if they can or can't, but if they have the values to do what's morally correct. Definitely a minority in life.
Ah here you have to get Karl to wear a gopro and do a daily , even his comments on Japanese culture, whilst limited in verbage would be sure to be gems! Good episode!
I cannot wait for the videos Carl brings back from Japan. Another superb vlog Ricky and gang, as a petrol, and diesel, head I really appreciate your stuff and love the presentation, style, content just everything. Keep it up. Stay well all 👌🏻
I totally agree about choosing your engine builder wisely. I went to a "specialist" for my old race car, it cost a fortune in blow ups. Then went to a widely respected engine builder, far fewer failures and 25BHP more at their first attempt.
Great video Ricky. I’d be interested to know, what the other company had to say about RE Performance. Such a shame that negative comments have to be banded about, in order to achieve some level of status. Pretty sad to be honest. I totally agree that builders shouldn’t learn on somebody’s platform. You can either build it, or you can’t. My engine blew up on a dyno some years ago, and the tuner, said they’d rebuild it for me. I knew them and the builder so went for it. Haven’t looked back since. The spa trip sounds awesome. Those that go will have an amazing time. Please do a video series of the trip.
Your brand and integrity is something that takes effort and time to build and can be wiped out so much faster, but you know this already which is why your business is in demand :) Good luck! Also....anyone else in Swindon, today is Gert Wings day just round the corner!
I think the work that you can do is amazing. I've tinkered with my car, and it's a bliddy nightmare. Every bolt looks like it's from the Titanic. Your knowledge is amazing as well. I wish you could take my whole engine apart and get it back to new 😁
Hi Ricky. Hope you are well. I have 4 questions : 1) Can you tell visually if the suspension on an R8 V8 has been upgraded to the V10? (V8 lower wishbones are discontinued). 2) Is it important to get an engine compression tested during a PPI? During Mat Armstrong's video when he owned an R8, the car made the power however, his engine was a right off due to bore scoring. 3) Do you give warranty with your full engine rebuilds? 4) What is normally covered in an engine refresh and roughly when is it required?
I don't know if I missed it while making my way through your videos after finding the channel, but why did you go from a S1000RR back to your R6? Also, if people are slagging you off then you're clearly doing some things right! To slag you off and try and bring you down means you've got yourself up in the first place. Keep doing what you're doing boys!
What you have discussed about engine builders goes for engine mappers also. ;-) You kindly took the time to recommend a couple of mappers to me and also supply a quote for a Syvecs, which I am sure would of been nice, but could not justify it. Love your video's, always informative and definitely entertaining. Looking forward to the next installment........
That was fucking fantastic content ricky love the being really so many out there being fake 👏 great stuff you guys always make me laugh. 😂have you on loud at work as i am a bus mechanic. Keep it up guys ❤
😂😂😂😂😂 Got to have footage of carls doing karaoke and buying some used knickers from a vending machine. On a more serious note , I totally get your attitude Rick with customers , engine builds and social media crap etc etc . What many people don’t maybe realise is that before the internet and marketing morons BS a company’s reputation was established by word of mouth or loyalty and trust . Think this video especially did you a favour pointing this out . Your attitude is bang on 👍
Great video and the best so far. Very honest about keeping to your area of expertise. I also follow Lee at his engine shop, who stays within his sphere of what he knows.
Interesting what ya say about slagging competitors, was at the nec at the bike show comparing in ear speakers went round various stands one company did nothing but slag off the other company. Didnt sit well with me at all. Not a way to sell your company/product!
Great video as always guys ...the banter is spot on and just infectious, it makes me feel like my day at work and evening watching You tube have seamlessly rolled into one 👍on the subject of engine builders I will give a shameless plug to @TeamPrawnRacing and the engines he uses that are built by Badger 5... there doesn't seem to be anything they don't know about the Audi 1.8t as proven last year at the Classic Thunder Saloons
Don’t sweat it, you can see from the way you talk and the setup you have you know your onions. A cheap rebuild might be ok on an Astra VXR, it will soon become very expensive on something high end, buy cheap and all that.
This is brilliant - “If you’re having to kick someone’s pedestal to make yourself taller, you’re a twat”. Confucius couldn’t have put it better mate 👍👍😂🤣
Good video i think the miserable one as you call him said didn't know what to eat in Japan, would recommend Rarman which is soup and you point to other stuff for them to add, bit like doing a pizza. Liked the building chat and is correct, you will have a marriage with that person unless they are the sort that only want to know when and how much with no relationship, which probably makes them not working for
Great content as always. The section on cam buckets / followers was really interesting (that’s probably quite sad to admit 🤣) Interesting convo on the engine builders, so many untrustworthy builders out there for all platforms. I decided to give my build a go myself (tad daunting) but enjoyed the process and so far, so good 😅 nothing special but for a first build, great experience
Some companies are quite happy to blow there own trumpet, what they don't tell you is there fuck ups. They've got small balls when it comes to putting your hands up and saying I'VE Got it wrong but will sort it out.
“Them dickheads” a bit harsh don’t you think as they, are the ones that are earning you day to day money keeping your work rolling as you spend time in front your camera racing etc! what you think is banter in your eyes might be a kick in the guts for staff!! Just a thought 🤷🏼♂️
A shit show of a different kind. At RE you will always find. The laughs and jokes, perhaps some bragging. Sometimes a rant about some slagging! By Ricky with a mega hat, Who also does the techy chat! On engine bits and also racing. It’s great, it’s fun, it’s quite embracing. And then King Karl appears on screen. (That buggers face is never clean!) But I for one am a great fan. I hear he’s soon off to Japan! A business trip I’m sure is rational, For Karl will then be international! He will return with greater knowledge A walking (solemn) Techy College! And when he’s back he’ll get his prize! For valentines - a new pay rise! Would that make Karl’s wife shout aloud? So pay up Ricky - make us proud! Celebrity is worth the dough! For Karl to be in your Shit Show! Whatever happens - your decision. I’ll keep on watching your Precision. A warts and all, cool presentation Bestowed upon the RU-vid nation. A range of topics - far and wide. So smash the buttons and subscribe!
Always good to be the master of your trade (V10's) rather than the jack of all trades, its a fair shout to not want to build any old thing just to make money, again another coffin dodger here.
just subscribed, then heard you turned away an 850r owner. may have to unsubscribe now as an 850r owner myself. would be great to see you compare the volvo 5cyl to the recent audi 5cyl's featured and give your view on the design etc. but with the value of the volvo's compared to the stuff you normally do, its understandable why you probably wont.
The way you're talking is probably fuelled by general stress levels. I think you can let your work speak for you. If you weren't any good the word would spread quickly. I can tell a wrong un by 100 steps and I know you're sound
ricky m8 personally id send the customer back to them once you fixed it with pictre and get the customer to tell them how much better your rebuild is. Ur alwas going to get tossers that want to dream there better then your team out of jealousy and attempt to hurt your rep. to try and boost theres.
