I v e said it before but I'll say it again , getting old .(78yrs young) I've learned a few things and one of them is that one of the saddest phrases in the English language or any other .language for that matter is , I SHOULD HAVE , I've been lucky enough to do everything on my bucket list and good job I have as now I have medical problems that would have prevented me from doing so now or in the future ,remember your a long time dead , so get off your collective arses and just do stuff , everything is achievable if you want it bad enough there's always a way and its better than sitting around later in life wishing , I SHOULD HAVE
Good luck in trying to find a house to rent in Australia, there's a huge housing shortage in all capital cities. That's the big stress here. There's a lot of people couch surfing or living in their cars.
very new on this channel loving all the vids. myself and my partner are currently working on making the move down under alot of stress that is for sure😅🤣
As a dual citizen UK/Australian who has lived and worked in both countries on and off for 35 years one of the trickiest timing issues is GBP/$AUD exchange rates. Over my time I have seen the rate vary from 1.50 $ to the pound to $2.60 to the pound. Partly because $AUD is a very heavily traded, resource based currency. It is only a decade or so ago when it was worth more than the US $. This can make a huge difference if you are looking for the sale of a UK house to finance an Australian one. I cannot speculate on what will happen except to say UK economy is not looking crash hot now. Some people say lease your house in the UK. Certainly a strategy but as I know as I have assets in both countries once you become tax resident in Australia, the Australian Tax Office taxes you on income generated anywhere in the world. There is no such ting as a "non dom" in Australia. It might be OK if you claim a mortgage as a deduction. I wish I had used UK accountants who knew about Australian tax rules. You do not want to fall foul of the ATO when applying for visa extensions etc. Thanks for the channel.
Waiting all that time for a measly 6:40, really!! I know you have established a theme of advising potential emigrants X U.K., but might I suggest that you extend that into "showing" why, not just chatting and trying to embarrass " the maybe's " or the "one days", and annoy the living sh*t out of them by showing them the reality that is this wonderful area of Australia. More, sir, may I have more!! Time that is.
Just spent a week in Brisbane for interview etc. Waiting on outcome and exploring avenues for how to get wife into Australia. I am a NZer and can come over easy as.
Been thinking of doing this for a few years. My wife is half Australian so should be able to get an ancestral passport and I should be able to go on the back of that with a spousal visa. We have a one year old and are super stressed here all th time. We both have good jobs and good family and friends but feel we should just go and experience it. We have a house and mortgage would you just sell up and go or keep the house and see how we get on. We've been to Aus 6 times between us and love it.
Really good posts, I can see from a comment below that Ben works in Construction - I myself am a site manager working in the UK. I'm looking to go into construction management in Australia . Where we require SMSTS / Black CSCS cards for the UK is there an equivalent in Australia that you have to get before coming over? Any helps appreciated ! Thank you.
gee if i lived in the uk and living in those buildings they call houses i'd be more than stressed those houses if you can call them that look like battery hen coops, 10 people or so in 2 little buildings. front yard is 3mts wide ffs sake why do they call that housing. nope australia would be like paradise to the poms.
Not quite everybody, but if they follow New Zealand's intimation that next year they will be 'seeking out' the unvaccinated and giving them the 'opportunity' to be vaccinated . . .until the whole country is vaccinated, then it soon will be everybody. If you need everybody medicated to be a part of a society then, by definition, it is a very sick society.
Nurses are in high demand across Canada; for this reason, there are a number of Canadian immigration pathways for nurses to choose from. As a nurse, you may be qualified to come to Canada as a skilled worker though one of the many economic immigration programs at both the federal and provincial level.
Just Don’t. sincere advice from my heart. The Worst medicare system , public transportation and all other infrastructures. It is still a developing country. You need to work hard for the government and its citizens by paying a lot of tax while your wealth still stay same and all prices skyrocketing. I would consider Vietnam instead.
I would think twice, unless you are up for an increasingly totalitarian government and ever more restrictive 'freedoms'. And let's not get into Australia (and New Zealand) being front-runners for every decision the WHO makes. Medical autonomy is being eaten away. But, lots of folks are good with that so, if you are also, everything else makes Australia a wonderful place.
