Why You Should(n't) Play War Thunder! - War Thunder "Review" 

I highly suspect Gaijin intentionally tries to frustrate players with matchmaking, uptier games and map selection in order to sell premium accounts and premium vehicles. Is there a map you don't do well on, beyond the one you can ban? Expect to see it 3-4 times in a row. Bought yourself a shiny new premium vehicle? Expect to only be able to use it in uptier matches. Finally decided to pony up for a premium account so your silver lions don't go into the negative, because you are being constantly getting f@cked over? Expect your "team" to be comprised of A) The player who thinks it's fun to fire off their machine guns to the empty sky, giving away your position. B) The player who instantly pops smoke at first sight of the enemy, again giving away your approach... while also obscuring the enemy. C) The player who cuts you off at the start of a match, then takes it personally and decides to start a ramming war with you, slowing the whole teams initial progress D) Or all of the above. Meanwhile the enemy team will be comprised of combat veterans who know every nook and cranny on the map and can snipe you from anywhere...

If anyone is interested in playing, don't ram into people as planes, do not shoot your allies down as planes when taking off (realism mode) we got enough trolls, also arcade is alright but expect the entire enemy team to know where you are and your weak spots before you even get over a hill for an ambush, realism is best in my own opinion

Fun fact The entire thing about the D point is that there used to be a D point on the carpathians map where you could resupply certain equipment (I dunno what equipment I wasn’t there). Gaijin never removed the command and now it’s more used as a way to say good luck or have fun in a sense.

A stuka going mach 2 towards your house would be fucking terrifying, because at that point it would no longer be a stuka but very fast pieces of ripped apart metal with a bomb in there somewhere

Still the best plane/tank/naval combat game out there, nothing comes close. Low tier is the most fun & you dont have to grind for that.

With somewhere around 5,000 hours...you didn't even get into the scandals and controversies, but everything else was fairly spot-on.

So i have around 1400 hours in this cesspool of a sometimes fun game. I mainly play tanks so i don't have any big experience in planes (naval is full of USS moffet bots) Tanks in top tier is a rofl stomp from your enemy team so don't touch that if you value sanity unlike me. Tanks in the WW2 era can be fun becourse you don't have any laser rangefinders or fucking arrow shots so you have to find the range yourself and angle (if you play germany tho) Otherwise it can be a fun game but it's super grindy and almost not worth it if you wanna play as a none premium player and if you have friends that plays this cesspool of a game, that will ease the pain... also get ready to be spawn camp literally 3 minuttes into the game

100% not biased opinion Its really fun, cmon go ahead play it, it will only take your life away, but for that abrams it sure is worthy!

I agree. War Thunder is almost fun. I have been playing this game since 2018 and I am taking a good break from all the stress from that game.

Im still waiting for a WT clone to simply be way less grindy and steal all to players from the abusive snail. What a great day this will be.

Gotta say, I played War Thunder for a while and I would say avoid this game. After many hours of shooting enemy tanks 5-6 times for them to simply turn around and 1 shot you. Its infuriating, I've never played a game that can make me angry until I played War Thunder.

I stopped playing WT years ago when it became pay to win. I started playing in Beta and played rather religiously until they pulled that bullshit. When you have years invested into a game and people with less than a week of playtime have better planes than you do, something isn't right...

imma say this as i mostly play tanks is. use the minimap its a great tool and keep an eye on your team mates cause far to many i have had my team mates drive right past me while a tank is running my fade and this happens more often then not of the blind teammate. Like me personally if im by a teammate on the minimap ill generally try to drive someone in their direction jsut incase or keep an eye on them on the minimap. also learn your tank that your driving dont just leroy jenkins into the enemy team very few tanks can do that and even fewer can do it well.

I'm not too worried about putting a little money in this game. I only do the .99 cents at a time which is rarely. That gives you enough points to do a few things. You can upgrade the planes and crews you have and make them better. You can get a lot of points if you get a few kills. You do that every game and they add up pretty quickly. Also, use planes with low costs to fix will save points. I mostly just do the planes. Never really tried tanks or ships.

I got around 5000 hours in warthunder and i love it only thing i hate about it is the russian tanks they are very hard to kill but IRL its so so easy m1a2 in warthunder gets smoked by a t-72 the armor model and model of the tanks are wrong between Russia and USA abrams series tanks are easy to kill while the T-80BVM is legit immortal if you dont get that lucky driver port or the tiny lower plate shot while you have to be accurate with killing the t series tank such as the T80BVM while they can shoot the m1a2 just about anywhere and they will kill it easily while the russian tanks for some reason the russian tanks in this game the driver eats APFSDS shells like candy you hit him you will kill him but then there is no shrapnel that goes for the other tank members while in any other nations tank you got shrapnel even if the driver is hit which this has been noticed by many people which is why almost everyone in warthunder play's russian tanks also to mention gaijin has added the t-80BVM which is almost the latest russian tank which is like gen 3 or 4 while USA is stuck at the M1A2 which we should be getting added DU armor research package but we arent that lucky everything said we should have the m1a2 sep 2 or 3 in this game to fight the BVM in terms of shells and armor because the m1a2 sep 2 IRL has better armor like gen 2 or gen 3 DU armor which will stop killer of saint colt walker rounds the US tech tree is far behind while British tanks in-game they have the black knight challenger and the challenger 2 tes while USA still at that m1a2 and not the sep version while the m1a2 model is the m1a2 sep model by visual while it is the m1a2 version is the real model even tho the m1a2 in the game looks like the m1a2 sep version while its really only the m1a2 default armor version with gen 1 thermals while the t80bvm pretty much has gen 2 or gen 3 thermals which makes it a really good killing machine . this is all i got to say about the big fat snail loaded with that green shit,....

The problem with WT is you are never satisfied never focusing on making the game actually fun, always hunting the next tier/ vehicle only realizing after you reached the next that the game actually gets progressively worse or at least less fun 😅

In my personal opinion, no game that sells a single (relatively minor) item for the price of an entire AAA game is worth anyone's time...

Its not just RP it's also SL I think SL costs for Vehicles and more annoyingly the worst thing about this game Repair costs aswell as the bad reward system getting enough SL to actually purchase the vehicle you want is just torcher I remember I quit WT twice because I just can't make any money due to high Repair costs with high tier planes and the amount of SL you get in a match win or lose its just nothing unless you have premium or purchase SL trying to get SL in matches is just torcher Like gaijin is just money hungry that's why they made the grind so unbearable

Just can’t even bring myself to waste my time playing this ‘game’ if they fixed even one issue an update it could be fun but it’s not. Doesn’t help that I lost 7 years of progress because my mac is a potato and I can’t transfer that progress to my Xbox.

War Thunder is not a Tank game. It's an extended air campaign with the constant Airstrikes and airplane bombing and rockets. I get destroyed 90% of time by airstrikes. I am ready to quit thiis stupid game because you don't have much of a chance to have tank battles because someone will call in an airstrike asap. I hate this game. Even thoug I have 36 Million silver lions the game is total bullshit.

Gets claped in the game from all sides and favorite tank is Tiger.... damm, i love stereotypes. I am a "german main" myself but more of a Bundeswehraboo than a wheraboo. And you make more RP than 1000/per match when you climb ranks. Another thing is "the grind". People should try to make a good lineup on every BR instead of try hard to unlock and play just one tank ( especialy not the damn Tiger as "main goal"). The goal should be lineups, not single tanks. If you have lineups you will have more fun and "the grind" will be something thats happends in the background. Example: Germany 6.7. Check what BR the match is. If downtier bring the big cats and crush Shermans and T34s. If uptier bring the fast HEAT-dispencers and stealthtanks and give those stupid slow enemy heavys like IS3s and T95 a hard time to catch you while totaly ignoring their armour. Lineup is everything, single fav tank is nothing.

7000 hours here. Game is just a mess no matter how good you are. New players have no idea how to play, and buy their way to play against people like me who just end up dropping nukes on them. Maps are terrible and cater to 1 kill and die playstyles.

My game review : airplane nuke everything in groundforce, I get kill minimum 1 or 2 tanks by game, russian are bias, anti aircraft are useless it's just bullshit, This is an air fuck nuke game. The rest is futile, the server decide who win. Waste of time, don't spend a dime on free ahahahaha to play game. They have wasted that game.

WarThunder is like finding a new hobby, it starts out fun and warm spirited, and ends with you in soul-sucking debt and depression.

Haven't played this game in years. kind of played it till I unlocked the American ww2 planes I wanted. Liked the planes, liked the tanks more. I do remember grinding for boats too, but not that much.

2 500 hours on wt here mainly into tank battles and just reached 11.0 with 3rd nation... do not sell your soul to the snail, you aint getting it back...

I played for the tank combat and got fucked by planes and helicopters, and around 8.0 repair costs become so high that if you get a kill for each death you often lose a few thousands or profit no more than 10k, not enough to keep up with new modifications, and nowhere near the 1.5 million needed for the next vehicle

The reason I stopped playing and tell other people not to play is the insane sweats this game is notorious for. Before you can learn your vehivle you need to learn ALLLLLLLL the angles and spots on the map where you can be cross map one shotted from. Broke? Don't even touch the game. You'll spend months grinding to a somewhat useable tank and that's if you play EVERY DAY. Buy a premium tank? Sorry, you'll still get one shotted by a tank from the early 50's even though you have modern armor and armor protection. The game is ruled by sweaty acne rampaged depressed 29 year old anime fans.
