So you would lease a inexpensive to maintain and it will last for your whole life. So what should we buy huh? A fucking Mercedes or BMW. SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT I SHOULD BUT INSTEAD.
Instead of carrying out your anger pointlessly on a title, pay attention to what I’m actually saying first. I’m trying to get across that it’s better IF you’re trying to purchase this car brand new, instead of CPO, to lease it then buy it off lease, OR, purchase it used. You’ll save way more money.
This dude maybe working for Lexus because leasing then buying only work for commercial Vehicle that is used to make money. So I wouldn’t recommend listening to this guy.
Supreme 12860 Following your example the Lexus is a boring basic bitch that doesn’t turn heads and is below average in the bedroom. I’d rather have a great time even if it’s for a short time BMW
@@victorkenarsy3024 literally get any Lexus 350 and mess with the exhaust a bit, get a tune and some wheels and you will be turning more heads on the street than you know it
I have owned about 14 cars in my lifetime and my GS350 F-Sport is by far the most reliable & comfortable car ever. 126k miles and still looks & runs like new.
Cool! I am going to pick mine up tomorrow at Lexus of Austin. I am beyond excited!! I am getting the GS 350 F-Sport in atomic silver with black interior.
@@jasonmeler8759 Nice! I just bought a used 2016 GS350 F-Sport (white exterior, red interior) last month with 41k miles for $28k (Was $58k when it was new). It replaced a 2017 IS200t F-Sport & has been an absolutely incredible car so far! Rides & handles like a dream!
@@DisneyMusicVideos I'm literally looking at this same car tomorrow at a dealer. Same model, same amount of miles and same price lol. Going to see if I can chew them down if I like the car since they've had it for a year on their lot...which makes me suspicious. It looks pristine in and out, we'll see how it drives.
My self I have a 2001 Lexus GS300 runs like a beast never consumes oil. Took it once to South Bay Lexus to service and tech told me bro don’t get rid of that car those are Lexus best engines.
InnerGuide For real. My friend has one he tells me all the time. Even though he has some button that’s supposed to help with gas mileage saving but it doesn’t do shit.
You can easily find a one year leased RCF or GSF for hella cheap. They depreciate but Lexus depreciation really tanks only in the first year then it's gradual and steady for the F models. A 2016 RCF is around 44k-48k, a 2016 M4 is 40k-44k with a diff in msrp being 3-4k more for the M4. Sheesh. You'll find more off leased F80/82's than GSF's or RCF's as well, but the depreciation is a yikes.
@@r.d.9399 They are GENERALLY all bulletproof cars for damn sure! Sure if you dont mantain a Lexus its not gonna be as reliable. I know what im talking about dude. Shut up
@@grovdogg19 Not in the bit honest on your part or you're just not knowledgeable. Go look up the 2007 Lexus ES 350 and come talk your shit again. Most people get stuck into your type of thinking an end up with a costly reality check on the back end.
Leasing a Lexus is an insult to its reliability. My Lexus family currently owns a 1995 ES300 on its last leg, 2008 ES350 still running great, and 2013 GS350
I work on my own car, a BMW, and it really hasn't costed much at all. $43 for full synthetic oil change. $100 for starter with starter bolts and new intake manifold gaskets. $15 for oil filter housing gasket. I think like $30 for a new belt tensioner. Maybe like $30-50 for a valve cover gasket kit. I really don't get all the fuss about how expensive people think parts are. Just keep up with the basic maintenance and dont let problems build up. I drive mine hard all the time and have had no outstanding or weird issues.
zorkman111 glad u can fix your own car. Most people dont know how. Its a money pit. Smart people will never buy these overpriced pos euro cars. They lease them.
I leased a 2017 GS 350 F Sport and I got it out the door at $48,000 from the initial $60,300. 0 down, 3 year lease and 15k miles yearly @ $698/month. Problem is, if you get rim and tire protection, add the full coverage insurance (mandatory with leases!) and gas money, you are easily at $1000/month. Insurance for my GS was $212. I don’t think leasing is a good idea either, considering you can get a 2-3 year old GS with 40,000 miles at around $25-36000. Just buy it cash when you can afford it used or take a 0% APR loan from somewhere for 60 months and pay it off until it’s yours. The engines should easily run to 500k miles so if you don’t need a new car every 5 years, this car will be there for you for 15-20 years.
I guess he is assuming that some folk must get a new car and in that context, his rationale is pretty solid for the lease. I just sold my 2000 GS300 with 236 kms for an immaculate '05 GS300 with only 112k's (~67,000 miles). Looks awesome in black drives like new, has the gorgeous 18" alloys from the GS430 and everything works perfectly; I expect it will sail through 20 yrs of age without major issues.
The off-msrp was solid, but you're paying for that 15k/yr in that 698. He's going with a 10k/yr lease example payment. I imagine that isn't too much driving in Boston, which is pretty much the opposite of what I experience here in OK, save for Bostonians hitting Rhode Island because 'The Island' ::sucks:: What he was getting at is that built into the lease > purchase for a GS (which some yobo previously doesn't understand), is that the 3500 you get in the lease deal carries over into your potential purchase post-lease. If you just straight up purchase at the beginning then you don't get that extra 3500 and you're still doing the same thing, taking possession of the vehicle until it's paid off, traded in, sold, etc...It's like a Back Door Roth IRA: You put stuff into a 401(k), but then roll it over into a Roth because you're getting some more incentives with the 401(k) that you'd otherwise never see in the typical execution of a Roth. It's okay Ari, some people can't math, and that's how you make money.
Own the GS it’s an awesome car I’m getting it wrapped tomorrow pretty excited. The GS’s seem like they would be clunky but they’re actually super nimble
No brand new car is worth buying, I think this is why leasing eventually became an option, fewer people are buying new cars and manufacturers need ways to push out new cars. So leasing naturally should be a better deal than buying, at least on the surface.
I had a 06 GS300 and after that LS460. LS460 was more comfortable but GS was the absolute best combination of comfort and sport. I enjoyed driving the GS more and never complained about it not being comfortable enough. GS is extremely comfortable and the LS just feels like you’re floating. I’m probably going to switch back to a 07-12 GS.
My lease on the RX is up in a few months. I will be buying a used GS. A terrific car and a great price. I''m the keep the car for 10 years type of guy.
@@cottagegymfun Well the LS is not anywhere near the other two in terms of class. The ES is front wheel drive, so if you care for driving dynamics then that's not it. The GS and the LS are separated by at least an entire class of car, but there's no doubt that the LS has the newest Lexus interior. Really it's up to you, do you want a sportier car or a gentle cruiser? You could get a GS-F if you want a sports car, or the GS 350 F-Sport so you can save some money, and still have a sportier oriented car. In my opinion, the LS with the F-Sport package looks the best, and also the 3.5TT engine is very torquey and has a good amount of power. At the end of the day, all of their calls are very great to lease.
I would rather buy a LEXUS over a BMW, Mercedes. I dont want to be stranded on the side of the road middle of a cold night and not able to drive it since its inside a garage getting fixed.
Why did you completely neglect the fact that at the end of the 5 years, you get to keep the car and have no payments whereas in 6 years of leasing, you basically spent the same amount and ended up with no car? The cash leaving your pocket and the assets acquired both need to be taken into account. A 5-6 year old GS 350 is still worth $20,000 or so. In a lease, you wouldn't have that $20,000 towards your next vehicle. Or you could just drive it payment free.
Bought a 2015 Lexus GS 350 F Sport AWD for 30k with 19k miles and I absolutely love this purchase. The car is amazing and I will one day pass it down to my kid.
It is never best to lease a car, especially for a car that holds its value like Lexus cars do. Lease X2 and you're left with $0 on returning the car, buy it and after payments you can sell it for $20k or more. Keep it another 3 more years and that's $0
I bought a loaded 1 owner, clean carfax, all service at dealer, GS350 awd non f-sport with 78k miles ($60k brand new MSRP) in October 2018 for $19k. Absolutely love it, felt like I got a steal on it! If you want to buy a Lexus and don't mind being the 2nd owner, buy a 4 or 5 year old Lexus and save $30k-$40k
I am looking at 2016 GS350 RWD with only 26400 miles, about 29773 usd before tax. Still negotiate down more. That's like saving more than 25000 usd off the new one. I have a new RX350 and really love how comfort and quiet it is.
My Lexus GS 350 F Type is the best car I’ve ever owned! These cars are INSANELY reliable! No issues ever. Crazy luxury interior, crazy quick in S Mode and S+ mode. Get out of here bro
5:36 what is your math here? It is 1 grand cheaper just to buy it, and you might as well get it used for 18k and it having 50k miles since it probably will last 400k miles... Yes, I know about acquisition fees and such, but the once you lease it for 4 years, the price you suddenly buy it for would be, like I said, 18k. So 52,565 + 18k . You are then paying 70565 for something you could have bought new at 51k.... And yes, go on Craigslist CarGurus, LetGo, or just whatever you use, and go look at the prices of a 2014 Lexus Gs 350 which has alost all the features of a new one, and you tell me the price. Leasing it and buying it later just does not make since. 🤦♂️
I just a bought a 2013 loaded. Mark Levinson sound which is absolutely amazing. Car was garage kept with 36,000 miles on it in mint condition. Paid $23,500. I searched a long time and being patient paid off. Buying a used car can be risky. I even got my preferred color choice for Int/ext.
I have a white on red 2016 GS350 F-Sport that I bought used back in June 2020 with 41k miles for $31k after taxes (Original MSRP $58k) now with 67k miles & has been an absolutely incredible car that I'm planning on keeping for a very long time. I love it now more than ever & I would buy the same car again as of now & I'll probably be saying the same thing five years from now. It's that good.
Granted I didn't watch but I've owned 2 GS (06/13) over the last 9 years and have only had an ac compressor go up on me out of the ordinary. Best 2 reliable cars I've owned.
You should never be the original purchaser of any luxury car. You always lose. I’ve even purchased cars for below invoice. I did lease one of my Benzs and then buy it after the lease was up. I would do that again. My next car will likely be a Lexus.
I own 2016 gs 350 f sport 4 years I had no issues just oil change and go keep your BMW and keep repairing and spend your money and life at the michanic garage Good luck
Buying a car = 60 months = higher monthly payment... Leasing a car = 3 years > then purchasing the same car on 5yr loan = 8 years of payments = lower monthly payments... Amount paid over the course of these two different purchasing methods - IS THE SAME ... therefore, there is no "saving" but ultimate decision, do you like to pay more, pay off early and drive and maintain car for longer term... OR do you want to lease and have option to "get out of it" ... At the end - you will return lease, and throw close to 20-25k out of the window, and dive right into another lease... in my experience those are the facts, because who is determined to keep the car, they do not lease it they buy it... whoever leases the car, they lease it, return it and move onto another better model, newer model, etc.
Wow. All these thumbs down, and I literally learned how to spend less money, to BUY the same car, and folks didn't even take the time to hear you out! This is why, we can't have nice things folks. 😑
You will pay the doc fee if you purchase it from the dealer. You can avoid this by paying off the balance using a check from your bank/loan company. The fees your paying for registration, that’s true. You’ll have to register it again, and pay tax on the remainder portion you weren’t taxed on originally.
I just picked up a 2014 Lexus GS 350 F sport for 20k, it’s in great shape, but I can definitely get behind the idea of leasing a brand new GS given the depreciation of that particular car it would actually make more sense to lease it then buy it out at the end of the lease, and heck, if you don’t want it at the end of the lease you aren’t stuck with it! Great video
You forgot to factor in interest and taxes on the $30K residual purchase, unless you pay cash. That adds $5 - $7K to total, making your strategy more expensive.
You pulled an M. Night Shamalamma with the title, cause I was like, wtf is wrong with a GS?? That aside, the info you presented was rock solid and easily understandable. As I get older, I am finding it hard to rationalize buying ANY make/model brand new; the depreciation factor is patently absurd.
The specifications for the tightness of the body panels on my Lexus are approximately 1/8", visually "tighter" than many other cars. BMW and Mercedes will always be trying to best Lexus. I didn't watch this guy's video. If he said I should never purchase any car new I would agree with him. My Lexus sold for $55 grand 5 years ago but I got it for 18 grand at 72k. Seems reliability is a big issue with people. I personally enjoy maintaining the cars that I own. Leasing companies are in the business of making money. They skim money off your life while you use the car. This is why I choose to own over leasing.
Ari Janessian , I agree! In 2016 I purchased a CPO 2014 GS F-Sport, MSRP of $59k. I paid $39k. It had 17,000 miles. Never felt like a used car to me. For the GS this is the best way to go.
I am not the owner of Lexus, but I got a Lexus maid handkerchief during this period! I am born in February I am happy for the best birthday gift in February! Have you asked Lexus to give you a present?
Glad I waited until the end, good video outside of the clout begging at the beginning. Heavily subsidized leases are the standard operating practice in the luxury car industry. Just be careful with the miles. I drive 20k miles a year so if I leased I'd negotiate miles up front
lexus performance cars are the ones to purchase and own. what i would lease are, amg's and porsches, as they are the ones i am currently considering. wouldn't even consider bmw's or audis...
Says who? Lexus yes you should buy worth every penny, if you just trying to get views make video with same headline on maybe gm lincoln dodge or some other american unreliable crap
Leasing a vehicle is not good for everybody. I live in Texas and I drive 40,000 miles a year. I want something comfortable and reliable something that start up and get me to and from work every day. The10,000 miles limit on the lease is an insult.
Sean I’m not saying don’t buy it at all. I’m saying don’t purchase it brand new. If you’re going to get it Brand new, lease it then buy it out at the end. You save more money.
I bought a certified BMW 750 i a few years ago and within 1 year there was a oil ..leak under the car ...$10K to fix a broken pipe in the engine ...mostly labour as the pipe was hard to reach and the engine had to be taken apart! traded it in for a Lexus LS 460 and 8 years and 20K miles later...total cost of repairs under 2K !!!!
Owning a BMW will always be an adventure (mostly at the auto shop). If buying used, you're better off with a Lexus GS despite not being sporty enough but that's okay
I have and have had many expensive cars. The most reliable cars I have ever had and still own are a 2010 Honda Accord coupe with 182k miles and a 2008 Lexus ISF with over 230k Miles. Both of these cars drive as good as they day I bought then. Super quiet they are both decently quick. No cracks or creaking sounds when I go over bumps. I will say the most imoresssive part about my Lexus IS it cost just as much to maintain the accord. Ok the Lexus I did a water pump at the dealer for only $785. Brakes all 4 for $450!!! Lexus paid for my 1 replacement battery for free. Oil changes are only $85 for a v8 at the dealer and they always. Wash my car inside and outside. I always get a free loaner cars when I go in for service. Etc
Ari, please give me an update on this car with the current offer, I need to do this ASAP, since I’m planning to do this next week. Thank you in advance. 🙏
Just acquired a used 2017 Lexus GS 350...just loved it...my wife does not let me drive it. It is an awesome car. As soon as my VW passat breaks down...I'll get a second GS 350.
Ari: I really enjoy your videos. I used to be a Lexus GS guy, but my last two cars have been leased Lexus RX350s. I bought out the lease on my current RX350 at the end, and like your GS example, I got the car for less than it was worth--great deal. I am now in the market for a RX450h. As you may know Lexus is aggressively marketing the hybrid RX models by making the difference in price for the hybrid almost negligible, so there should be others interested in this as well. Please do a video on your strategies for purchasing or leasing one of these 450h models (F-Sport if possible). Thanks, -Jim
I currently have a leased an RX350 sport and I have about a year left on it, only placed 11k miles on it. Original 3 year 12k a year. I’m thinking to trade it and get a used Escalade, or should I leased a new GX460? I was told no money down if I continue with LEXUS, what do you think?
For a second I thought this guy must be a freaking idiot to say never buy a GS 350 Lexus but then opens up about a BMW. You sure got me with the title. Either way, I understand why you say that but should clearly indicate in the title that one should LEASE and NOT PURCHASE the car. The small little #leaseit was whatever. Anyway, decent video but don't click bait on a Lexus brand bro. Nothing beats a Lexus in reliability and resale in the luxury segment. Put some respect on it! Lol
I don't have any problem with my GS250 f sport since 2012, my previous car was GS300. My wife owned RX270, and I bought one Ct200h for my daughter. If you looking for most reliable vehicle no doubt go for lexus, no regret.
It might be different for others but leasing at 10k miles a year is soooo crippling, this car is meant to be driven hard and has the reliability to do so... I’d say the average person would go well over 10k, maybe closer to 20k. But that’s just my opinion. Once you renegotiate lease prices for 15-20k miles a year, that $3500 difference you mentioned goes out the window. Most people purchase this car because they want the luxury and sportiness of an m car while still having the reliability of a Toyota and are comfortable with paying a little more to get that
And i purchased my 2016 lexus gs350 used with 25k miles for $26.5k. If you look hard enough youll find one. Just gotta be patient and never purchase a car out of”spurr of the moment”. P.s i also purchased at a honda dealership.
i get what your saying but at the same time, the difference of 3500 is probably marginal for those looking at a vehicle at that price point.... At that point because its a lexus (which doesn't hold as much value as "legacy" brands+ plus it's more reliable) those who are looking at a gs350 should opt for a slightly used one between 20-40k and reap the benefits of depreciation
The 50% residual is ridiculous. If you buy, that car will hold its value and be worth way more than that after 36 months. That's likely why they offer the lease cash.
Guaranteed... This one in particular sells certified as a 2016 for about $35-$38k. My guess is people like to lease this new, and buy this used. Only way to make it work is the lease cash. Maybe sell off to carmax right before the lease ends 🤷🏻♂️
Hi Ari! I got question. Like you mentioned in the video, lease and buy out on gs350 is better than purchase loan because of huge lease incentives. In your mind, Is there any other specific car that lease&buy out option is better than loan? By the way, happy new year!
Thank you! Happy New Year to you too! Definitely Jeep Grand Cherokee comes to mind.. I just had a friend recently do this after reviewing all the math. There’s a few scenarios with Fiat Chrysler that this would apply in particular.
@@negotiationguides so normally, high lease incentive might result to lower money to buy out right? And if we think about reliability, maybe Japanese brand like Lexus would be the answer? What do u think?
Spoken like a true car salesman. That being said, do 180 degrees the opposite of what this guy just said if your a looking for a car. He reminds me of why I will NEVER set foot onto a car lot ever.
Ari, you are car deal brilliant! By best car negotiation was on my on wife’s 2016 Toyota Prius w/ msrp $30k. Toyota dealer #1 says we don’t discount it wouldn’t be fair to other buyers, per Toyota we can give either $2500 off MSRP or0% financing for 72 months. I go to Toyota dealer #2, I negotiated $5000 off msrp AND 0% financing for 72 months.
Literally HILARIOUS, the amount of BS that will leave one salespersons mouth, vs another even at the same dealership. “We don’t” usually means “I prefer”. Good work 💪🏼
