I've use acrylic on my toes and clients toes with no problems. I believe what happens is instructions aren't provided to the client on the care. Also I believe the length is very important. You see people getting an active length on toenails which I believe helps to create damage especially if you are using a tip with sharp square edges. But I am also open to trying new ways of doing things, I am a new subscriber really enjoying your content.
I'm glad you haven't had any problems! Yes, after care for the client is an absolute must, and I agree that the proper communication about that is probably not happening often enough. I will offer that I've had many clients come to me after having acrylic on their toes with damage that they're looking to correct. I'd be interested to hear if you try any of these other toenail specific products and what you think in comparison! I love this video! As a nail technician myself I have had problems with acrylic on my own toes and I vowed that I would never do acrylic on a clients toes. It is so harmful and dangerous and In the long run it does not keep the toes safe. I feel like if you are in the industry it is vital to get the appropriate training for nail enhancements and for toenail reconstruction. This video was not only clear but extremely informative! This is a better alternative than acrylic, but I'd still recommend a gel specifically for the toenails as they need some different properties than gel for fingernails. Thanks for watching!
I currently have damaged both my big toenails from acrylic the impact from my inside my shoes and working all days bruised the toenails underneath. I soaked the acrylic off, but tips for future pedicures? my nail is chipped on one toe and I'm tired of not being able to get a new pedicure waiting for the damage to grow out.
Sorry to hear about the damage! My first thought is that you can still polish your toenails even if they're not perfectly shaped. A pedicure is so much more than polish and other people really aren't looking that closely at our toenails. If you do want to perfect the shape of those toenails while they grow out, I suggest finding someone in your area who is offering a Toenail Reconstruction service with an appropriate product like one of the ones I mention in the video. Do some googling and call some places to ask what they use and why. Hope that's helpful!

@@HealthtoBeautyNails So true before I start working at the plant wearing work boots I had pretty toe nails so I use go in every 3 weeks get gel polish but I notice wearing work boots my toe nail will hurt and I notice I had discoloration on my toe nails I ask my nail tech why she was like it was from being dehydrated and I was like hmmmm so I notice when she do my toes every two week she will get alot toe Jam underneath my two big toes so I went to another woman that specialize in pedicure she told me start getting acrylic to protect my toe nail 4 weeks later my real toe nail came off by time I'm in nail tech school myself these couple months I still been acrylic but today I decided to take the acrylic off cut all the discoloration off and start over....No more acrylic just free balling and let my really toe nail grow out
@@rosequartz7939 if your boots are causing your nails to hurt, they're probably an incorrect size and/or don't have a wide enough toe box. Our shoes can cause a lot of foot and nail problems when ill-fitted. Glad to hear you took your acrylic off your toe. I hope it grows back well!
Thank you for this! I’m also a Medical Nail Tech and knew you’d be opening a can of worms with this one! 🍿 Acrylic toenails seem to be a staple service in non-standard salons. She is telling the straight truth. People really should stop putting acrylic on their toenails. And while we’re at it, can we keep big toenails to the appropriate length? I don’t understand all these long, intentionally prominent big toenails! It’s not a good thing!
I got acrylic on my big toes for the first time. I took them off a couple days ago & now beneath my toe nail is purple. Are my toenails going to fall off ?
Oh no, I'm sorry to hear this. It's impossible for me to say if your nails will fall off. If they're purple, they may be bruised and depending on the severity, may or may not fall off. Monitor them closely, take photos so you can make note of any changes. I'd keep them as short as is safe also for now. If they don't improve, I'd recommend seeing a dermatologist. Good luck!

I would only use a product that is formulated for use on toenails so that it's the appropriate flexibility for the area and safe to touch the skin. The one's I mention in the video are Gehwol's Nail Repair Gel, LCN's Barefoot Gel, Fuzion's Nanoflex, and NuFeet Transformation Gel (this one is more a polygel-like texture). Thanks for watching!
