I remember when black was getting shown off I was thinking it was going to be the thing to lock down red. But in practice red can fill the board so fast especially Zoro that black wouldn't be able to keep up. They would end up never having a hand and just dieing
I remember reading all the black cards and thinking the color was absolutely insane and straight up power creep, only for black to come out and pale in comparison to red 😂
new to the channel midway through watching your video and something came to my mind. Garp with alabasta engine would be insane if the stars aline. Karoo with at least the weenies of alabasta and maybe pell and Chaka. then you have the admirals for back up such as popping things. You could even include a vivi, but might be weird ratios. Let me know what you think
A friend of mine's take was Garp was meant to pretty much be, despite being a dual-color leader, a mono-black deck. As if the red was slapped on more to give it a life count restriction. At a minimum, running maybe ST-01 Nami and Brook to move rested DON. I wasn't too personally keen on it, but it did make sense. I'll probably end up trying that out soon if I don't feel too great about Sakazuki in set 5.
Considering his leader ability benefits red is absolutely 0 ways it makes sense, it explains why every Garp player I’ve known has just leaned into the black half & disregarded the red entirely

You killed me by verbally assaulting purple last vid but I understand, it's bandais fault. 😂 Black is interesting position overall because blue was it's perfect compliment, but Mono black leaders feel like they're getting left behind. Granted, you can say this about all monocolor leaders outside of red/yellow

black luffy is my baby and i wont take the disrespect with a kuzan or issho on board play a tsuru -2 to one of the higher cards or place it on issho then shanks for board wipe and big swings
This is a retrospective of everything that happened once he got his international release since that’s when he’s finally legal to participate in our eastern meta so that’d be 08/11 and onward. I don’t really cover the western meta since it doesn’t really pertain to us with us being on different ban lists and having different metas as a result.
Tbh impact wave was better red hawk because in set 2 wide boards were very popular and you could not play around it if you had 2 things on board. Red hawk you could by putting don on your blocker. Also hawk never killed anything that could hit lead without don investment.
It’s why I mentioned it could be played around to an extent. It was only really good against red for the most part since Zoro & Law were the only decks that went wide, but even against Law Red Hawk is still better. against colors like blue, black & purple that generally never have more than 1 legal target on the board at a time, it was incredibly easy to play around impact wave. It had its strengths but it definitely had its weaknesses and if you weren’t on Zoro or Law it was definitely easy to exploit that weakness for free where at least playing around Red Hawk took DON investment.

I can say that one reason Issho isn't doing so well is that when it comes to TCGs we in the west are not good at deck building. We don't innovate, most decks are slam max copies of X card into the deck or 2 if don't want to see it all the time. It was true in Yugioh, Digimon, One piece, etc. The lack of creativity here plus that we constantly are only basing our beliefs off the Easter formats makes people think that something is trash before even testing it. It makes me sad tbh
Idk considering straw beard was a western innovation while east was on boat beard. We also innovated creature Zoro. There was even dogura law for a while. We definitely innovate, we just innovate on leaders that are already proven to be good. That’s just my opinion though.
Not true in the slightest for yugioh, lol. There are frequently decks in yugioh, like runick or unchained, that see basically no play in the ocg, then the tcg players show how cracked they are.
Unfortunately not, that’s just one of the downsides you have to accept if you do choose to play black. It’s more of a play 1 character, maybe pop something, do combat if you have any previously established bodies and pass kind of tempo
I'm disappointed for black in op04. Yes, rebecca do someting very good in this set. BUT, the main set black navy win nothing at all! Litteraly just drop navy archetype. And i think, rebecca it's far away too good. And i mean, beyond SUUUPPER Strong characters like Kyros, Orlombus, Luffy and Sabo. This stage... i remember the golden age of WB with mobydick... I don't understand why certain leader has no stage or just tuto stage and another leader, broken stage. It's not red, so i don't think at the present moment this stage will restrict or ban, but if in the futur, dressrossa win another win condition. I think with this stage, we see another WB. For Issho, i try a defensive version with agressive blocker, but yeah... too old for OP04. And garp, i play a real bicolor deck with strawhat seacher, and luffy op01-024 and promo +2000 counter, plus the navy card like koby ST08 and brannew. We win a constant and agressive deck. Strangely good versus Katakuri, but always off-Meta
