Why You Should Play Orruk Warclans 

As a Kruleboyz player with horrifyingly efficient shooting attacks, I go for a combo of boots on the ground and MW buffs. I typically play 3 single reinforced units of Man Skewers, each with a Shaman to boost their MW output, a Sludgeraker Beast to boost MW damage, and however many Gutrippaz and Hobgrots I can fit in the rest of a typical 2K point game to screen objectives and protect my archers. As an example, with all my shooting buffs, I did 22 mortal wounds from 1 squad of Boltboys to a Stardrake and dropped it in turn 1. Where Ironjawz prefer no think just hit, I find the ability to be so annoyingly efficient with Kruleboyz the big draw. Just my hat in the ring

The Megaboss on Maw-Krusha might be my favorite model in all of AoS. Single handedly got me into Ironjawz.

Brand new into Tabletop gaming here. Just started in AOS at the start of this year. And I have to say, I've been doing alot of research. I almost instantly fell for the Orruck Warclans right out the gate. And at the time, Kruleboyz were the newest models so I jumped in head first. Got 2 half's of Dominion and a Beast Skewer Killbow right away. After about 3 months got a Breakaboss, Snatcha-boss and another set of Boltboyz. After 6 months I've also picked up a cheap Megaboss, weirdnob shaman, Ardboys, brutes, one more set of Boltboyz and some Rockgut Troggoths because my buddy had them on for half off. All together, my favorite is still Kruleboyz, but I'm slowly picking up some Iron jaws for future Big waagh or just a pure Iron Jaws army. I definitely love the Orks!

The savage orcs aren't actually that older sculpts I think they came out around the start of 8th edition fantasy so only 10 years or so

As far as bone splitters, theyre probably the most fun to convert. Just take any ork and replace armor with bone or if not staying games workshop pure any shirtless ork + bone bits. But i play kruleboyz. Did the starter set then added in some of the monsters like the sloggoth and kinda went more narrative as a small off shoot that is hunting down people. So a lot of skewers and hob goblins.

Fellow Bonesplitterz player here. In my own quest to get started with these awesome naked pig loving greenskins I went with a pretty easy "get started" plan. One box of savage orruks which lets you build orruks, moreboys, and big stabbas if you want to sacrifice some models...one box of boarboys, which lets you build boarboys and maniaks...and Hedkrakas madmob, the underworlds box that has two great proxy big bosses in it as well as an awesome Wurrgog sculpt. After that, add savage orruk, and boarboy boxes, mix and repeat....and throw a rogue idol in there somewhere....lol

I have all 3 subfactions. Ironjawz is by far the most forgiving! I started with the lone Megaboss on foot to paint. Loved the aesthetic and decided to go all in. Start collecting box is such great bang for buck. Added 2 of those, a Mawkrusha, Weirdnob Shaman and 2 boxes of brutes for a great 2k army. Honourable mention for the Rogue Idol. I have the FW model and he's such a fun behemoth that can be used in any of the 3 armies, packs a big punch! He has a number of great proxies that can be 3d printed as well.

So when I decided to get into AoS, I realized choosing a Faction was going to be harder than making the decision to be a Dark Angel and that took months, lol. My GF grabbed DoK and ran with it right out of the gate, but I've been stuck in neutral for evah. Your video has convinced me to go with IronJawz. And since the modelling is a BIG part of the gaming for me, these are going to be fun to paint. A nice break from my Dark Angel army in the WH side of the house. Great vid, thank you!

Speaking of old out of date models that the Bomesplitterz stand out compared to, Seraphon infantry and Cavalry. What the hell is up with Dark Aelves having better Cold Ones than us?

I love all the Orruks. Ironjawz are my favorite but I have Bonesplitterz and Kruleboyz and also Greenskinz that I wish would be brought back so we could have 4 kinds of Orruks

I'm just getting into Iron Jawz. The best thing I can suggest is megaboss on mawcrusha with the destroyer artifact and buff them near a warchanter it's mount is throwing out 8 attacks a at 7 damage with -2 rend! Call the IronJawz waaagh! All out attack (and if you have the bloodthirsty triumph) you'll be hitting and wounding on 2+ with 8 attacks -3 rend & 7 damage! That's before stomp and orruk on top fighting themselves! Even Nagash can't ignore that! They are super straightforward to play, but still fun. Highly recommend!

2 scb of ironjawz and a megaboss on foot is a good start. Bloodtoof and jagged gorehackas on the pigs. Then get the brutes and cabbage. I run only brutes and pigs, with 2 chanters a shaman and a Maw-krusha, makes for fun and aggressive games

Maybe not a suggestion but a fun little gimic. Maxing out out mortal wounds in your 95pt shawman can be a blast! He has a command trait where he deals d3 mortals before casting and adds the number to his cast roll. You give this wizard the arcane tome so now he's a double caster. If he's around 10 allies he also cast his warscroll spell for free, even if its already been cast. So basically you deal 3d3 mortal wounds even if all of your casting rolls fail. Blew up some shiny lightning gitz with that trick.

Hey Doug love the channel keep up the good work! One question I have is has there ever been an explanation for why the orruks bravery is so bad? For a race that only cares about finding a good fight and bashing stuff it never made sense to me.

I like the look of the Kruleboyz more and have finally taken the plunge to collect them. Although, I can't find a competitive army build for these new sculpts. Great video btw, kudos!

Buy two Dominion boxes for cheap and play SCE until GW get around to updating them. There will also likely be a Christmas bundle with them this year, so don’t pick anything else up until then

As a KBZ player, I hate this faction, and definitely wouldn't recommend it to a new player. Putting three very distinct armies into the same book was a lazy cop out, particularly since the book they gave us is so poor. The whole book seems to be balanced around Big Waagh, which sucks if you have no interest in playing two of the three Warclans. And I think having these factions in one book is likely going to lead to them being neglected going forward: GW will think it's okay for Kruleboyz or Bonesplitterz to have one battleline unit each because well, they could always play Big Waagh.

If you play 40k then you can easily proxy in some orruks.

just finished up my big waaagh army everything is built and ready to go for a game in 2 weeks. (though I must say. I hated building the sloggoth. I just left the big thing on its back off cuz it wouldn't stay on. Will just use that for sumthin else lol)
