While many people disagree I find that RE3R has become my favorite. I started with the 2 remake and enjoyed it but when I played three something clicked and it instantly became my favorite RE game. Having played many of the others 3 is still my favorite.
Honestly I may be in the same vote. RE3 has always been a soft spot for me. Played it around 20+ times through Covid and it got me through a really tough time. So many people hate this game but it's really important to me. Might make a vid defending it!
I definitely agree with RE2R, I love that game so much but man they don’t let you ever have enough ammo to feel comfortable and the zombies will always come back unless you hit a critical shot 😭
I bought my boyfriend RE2R for Valentine's day this year and watched him play it - he was literally complaining about not having ammo and the zombies coming back alllll the time lol
@@flumeryxxThat's so awesome! Me and my bro have been playing all these games together recently. Had a lot of fun memories playing this with my family. Did your boyfriend ever beat the game?
the funny thing is Resident Evil 2 Remake WAS my first one. I'd never played a game as challenging as that as I'm still fairly new to games. I only started playing bcuz I knew how cool 7 and 8 were and finally had access to a game in the series cuz my brother downloaded it. My goodness, I gave up after 20 minutes of playing it. However, Bricky, another great youtuber, recommended this game heavily and I wanted to finish his video on Resident Evil knowing more about the series by playing it, so I did. And once I got past the learning curve (Mind you, I still played on Assisted bcuz I don't hate myself and am terrible at gaming), it was so exhilarating, stressful, and funny at times. I hate backtracking in video games a lot, but Resident Evil games are a major exception because every time you find something new in a place you've been 50 times before, the thrill you feel of the progress you're making is unmatched. The incremental progression system of RE2 is addictive, truly. But I did ragequit the game at the very end bcuz I fucked up my ammo with Leon and Mr X was pissing me the hell off. Claire was my fav to play as even though I love both.
I hate RE because of the puzzles and I'm too dumb to solve them. However, I love the series. The sheer helplessness is what drives me nuts, in a positive way. Scarce ammo, lots of enemies and the dire situation you're in, is what makes these games so perfect.
Fantastic video dude! You nailed exactly what makes RE so entertaining. I've personally been a fan of the game since I was around 8 years old, so about 15 years, I've been in love with this franchise. I'm in the minority when I say, Resident Evil 5 is one my favourite games, but it was my first ever RE game, so it's probably due to nostalgia. That being said, I really hope they remake RE5, it seems to be pointing in that direction, so personally I can't wait. Amazing video.
i remember being so hyped for re7 i never played a re game before hand but the trailer look d good and re7 is one of my favorite re games and games in general which got me to play re2, re3 ramakes and re1 and re5 and eventually the re4 remake now i’m a hardcore re fan
Literally started recently with RE2 and RE3 as its free on the Game Pass, loved it. Bought RE4 and I almost cried over how great the intro was surviving the village attack, top 5 intros to a video game. Went to RE5 fcking hated it the controls are outdated and janky af bought RE7 and RE8 on sale on steam recently. And holy fck wow RE7 is a massive step up and stayed true to how a Resident Evil game is supposed to play out based on RE2's remastered formula.
Honestly RE2R wasn't bad even as the first RE game I played (Though maybe that's due to knowing enemies play dead and to always aim for the head beforehand.)
I know I'm gonna get hate for saying this, but honestly imo resident evil is way better than silent hill and has a better library of games. Silent hill 2 is a good game, but i think it's overrated, despite it's amazing atmosphere, it's nowhere near as fun and enjoyable to play as the resident evil games are. At least resident evil gives you a good challenge when having to survive and deal with enemies. In silent hill 2 all i had to do was simply run past them, rarely having to worry about surviving since for the most part all you need to do is run past them and they are so slow. The puzzles for resident evil, locations, and enemy variety was just better. You had lickers, hunters, zombies, giant spiders, over sized insects, giant snakes, mr x, nemesis, willaim birkin and wesker etc. The list goes on.
My favorite Resident Evil games ranked from highest to lowest (I'd just include the remake in this list instead of the OG) - RE4 Remake - RE7 - RE2 Remake - RE3 Remake - RE8 - RE1 Remake - Code Veronica (should be higher on the list but I wouldn't lie the fixed angle camera & outdated gameplay mechanism made it to be lower in this list) - Dead Aim (yeah sue me, I enjoy this one lol) - RE5 - RE6 - Outbreak 1&2 (I love how advanced those games were but hard to find myself replaying it from time to time) - Survivor (again sue me lol) - Revelations 2 (tbh this one is kinda boring with outdated gameplay mechanism) - RE0 Remake (I just can't stand Rebecca's stupidity and the story doesn't make any sense at all)
Yeah I love this list. Mine would personally be a little different. Got a soft spot for RE5 and 6. Me and my bro got a lot of memories with those games! Thanks for sharing the list man :)
@@TheBossFighterz RE6 was ok, not as bad as people said them to be but kinda hard to bring myself to replay it again. RE5 in the other hand, if they didn't make chris punch a boulder, it'd be higher up on the list 🤣
Resident Evil 4 is incredible. Easily in my top 5 favourite games! But as someone's first Resident Evil I think it might be a little too overwhelming. The others are more condensed and accessible to new players in my opinion. Believe me though, if I had more time it would've been recommended in the vid :)
