I have about 10,000 books & documents in my library. For almost 40 years, I been studying & reading myriad subject at a rate of 350 days per year. I can't live without books and wherever I go I take at least 1 with me (to the bank, waiting and riding a metro or taxi, to post office lines etc) . KEEP READING !
Lao Mark ..That's great , i like reading and your speak is very motivated for me . I have more than 1000 book but i hope to own the same number like your.
Hi old guys I have just started reading and now I just torrent cuz of various reasons but will sure credit the writers when I get chance and plan buying books in future and having a collection 👌✌️.
Kelsey Sanderell watching youtube videos about books makes me want to read and helps me read more. Watching other people get excited about books gets me excited about books. I try to read for even a half and hour every day. Some days are better than others.
A Chag , don’t worry, it’s not a handicap or a problem, sometimes when you really love a book and feel close to it you just can’t stop reading and apparently finish it up, never leave reading books okay!😁
“Most people think they do not have the time to read books.” Well, try telling that now, during covid-19 lockdown! Anyone else from the actual present?!
When I was younger I didn't use to reading books, but now I read laterally everyday and it's been a year that I've been reading everyday none stop. I'm so proud of my self because reading actually is so important and it is a great tool for even your future, and I actually regret that I didn't start reading books since I was younger but I always remind my self that's never late and I'm still 16 so I could do whatever I want.
Reading is my adulthood habit. I don't know exactly why I started to read, but I love to read almost everything, from newspapers to mag, from online articles to books. I read at least 2 books in a month. One is on self improvement and other is ofcourse novel. It's really fun and knowledgeable exercise.
Reading is both a habit and personal discipline. Habit is formed if we do things often. Repeated actions become habits. Discipline is when you do things that may be difficult and challenging. Reading books can be challenging because it competes with other activities that may be more pleasurable and perhaps require no effort at all. That is why personal discipline is key. Learning per se is challenging enough because it requires effort. We need to purposely allocate time for important activities, especially reading books. Good habits plus discipline play an important role towards personal success.
Normal people: Books help you sleep Me: *at 3am* five more minutes Alec's about to confess his feelings for Magnus *5 hours later* wow she did not just say that about my otp Wait it's 8 o'clock erm let's check what google says on how to fall asleep faster Google: get off you technology and read Me: well your no help
I loved this. I've been reading all through my life . I'm a copy and content writer thanks to books. They are our best buddies always there for you, carrying us away into different worlds. They remain in your shelf forever unless you want to chuck them out. And on sleepless nights the book buddy is always around to talk to you. You're never a pua to a book. like a good friend a good book wants to change you for the better. In spite of reading tons of books I'm dumb I can imagine how dumber or dumbest I would've been without books 🙈🙉🙊
I created a RU-vid channel so I could better remember the books I read. I do summaries and reviews. It really helps me if I need a reminder of what I previously got out of a book. I can just watch my own video, and then keep on going. However, I do plan on going back from time to time and rereading these books, and making new videos. We all change overtime, and our takeaways as we continue on this journey through life, will change as well. Great video!
I have read over 100 books this year. I read two books a week and I have over 200 books on my kindle tablet. I think i 'll be busy for a couple of years....:-)
I cannot think of a more enjoyable activity than reading, and I read on average a book every 3 days. If I were asked to recommend just one book, I think it would probably be The Boys in the Boat. It's a true story that focuses on a US rowing team's efforts to qualify for the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games, and all the attendant problems that each member of the team have to cope with. It's a really wonderful book which I'm certain many people will enjoy reading.
Im a binge reader, sometimes i may go a year without reading any books, then i get interested in something or someone and read several books. I love my kobo e-reader. Last summer, on TV they played a program that was just 16 hours of a train trip from Adelaide to Darwin, it was excellent, I sat on my sofa and read all day occasionally glancing at the scenery
I read daily but my parents don't let me now my mom says that if you buy books and read it's bad for health , i don't believe that i know she's lying but she don't let me read ☹️ i love financial books and self-help books too
It increases your vocabulary, which is pretty important in almost every area of life. Second, you're not the first one to think this. Third, even reading crap has its advantages, like, you recognise crap when you see it. Fourth, it teaches you mental discipline, like I'm one of these guys who, when he reads a book, always goes to the last chapter, to find out what happened. Nowadays, I'm more into savouring the flavour. The journey is more important than the destination. Fifth, it's extremely cheap form of entertainment, most classics are free on the internet. Sixth, you connect with minds from the past; i don't always agree with them, they're men and women of their time, but there's a definite mental connection, as Sartre said, there's always a way of connecting with another human, be them from another race, or culture, or even idiots, to put it at its most extreme.
Yeah,I actually agree.Because reading is not only interest but also improving, learning activity. And when people read smth new the outlook is increasing so it differs you from others.I recommend everyone to read books of course if you want to read.I'm sure that corona is chance a big opportunity for to choose our lovely books and read them too. Thanks for reading my comment 😉
When younger I would read one book a night. I'm no longer in that habit. Not as much as a full book a night. It is too much time for me right now. It was fun at the time. I still like to read and I love books.
Hi thank you so much for this wonderful subject that Mede me lover of reading books again. I was a great on reading books but nowadays of limited time I could not read and use of reading's benefits. still I feel reading a book is like eating a sweetest comestible for me .
Also does it improve your grammar and spellings ! Advancing my English ! Even though I spell well and write , but there’s still room for improvement. ☝🏾
How do you know? Obviously, there are different subject matters, yet, I am often critical of what is being said as well as utilize my cognitive abilities to express my thoughts/points in a sound and clear matter.
To people who may not like reading: books are like clothes and movies, there is something for everyone!😊 Also, don't put too much pressure on yourself to read, it should be an enjoyable experience, not a burden!
I struggle to read a book...I tried by starting with reading 10 pages a day but it was a struggle. Any advice to assist me in continuing to read without feeling like it's a burden?
@@heartnmz7385first starts slow. You don't need to read 10 pages a day. Just take it slow. The key is to be consistent even if you read 1 page a day. Also choose a book that satisfy your interest. And just enjoy.
@@vivveene oh wow.. I hadn't received notifications until yours now! Thanks everyone for agreeing with me. I literally have hundreds of books in my room and I'm old school- I like the PHYSICAL book. I'm not about E books or whatever they're called haha. Right now I'm into reading about the lives of women from Iran. Please read 'Persian Girls.' Oh how I love that book! ♡♡♡
I used to be so addicted to playing games and in recent years, on social media. And over time, my mental health just plummeted. I used to read instruction manuals for games while eating breakfast I didn't sit down much and read proper books; except maybe a small one here & then. Just a few weeks ago, I figured 'Screw it' and just sat down and read a book I purchased a few months ago at a convention. Then after that, I got onto reading the Harry Potter books after years of telling myself "I need to sit down and read those as they're different from the films". And I find I'm a whole lot more focused while reading than when I do anything else; even video games don't hold my attention like they used to. So, it feels very refreshing to just sit down, relax and read for a change as my mind is one to struggle with concentration; at least in recent years, it's been difficult. Nearing the end of book four (The Goblet of Fire), and I don't want them to finish, I'm having too much fun with them. But I'll move onto something else soon enough after the final book; I have a decent backlog that have been put aside for years.
Whaou.. i desperatly try but i struggle a lot with concentration it is à True nightmare but deep inside i'd love to read, i think about it every single day but im afraid to struggle each time... any advice mate ??
@@Pablo-ig7tx the advice is read books and over time your concentration will increase and your memory and your love and passion to read more books... i have a similar story of this guy, i used to play video games and smoke weed and i abandonned books until 1 month ago i decided to quit smoking and gaming and start working out and reading books. At the 1st 2 weeks i though about stoping cause i coundlt see any results and my lake of concetration and bad memory put me down but i watched a video about saying that reading books and traing and eating healthy will heal this problem so i kept going... in 2 week later i could see a huge increase in concentration and memory and i can read more and more every time. So that is my advice to you based on my expirence. I wish you a healthy life. And excuse my english. Peace from Morocco.
I read somewhere between 30-45 minutes every night before I go to sleep. It’s a wonderful way to destress, learn, and reflect. Even as a minimalist, the one thing I’m not getting rid of is my books.
Why should I trust you? Just for the record I don't trust you......or anyone.....oh shit I don't even trust myself! What do I do now!?! I CAN'T TRUST ANYONE! THEY'RE OUT TO GET ME!!
Besides my family, books are my life. I started my children off in life reading to them every night even as babies and now they're college graduates with Masters Degrees and have high-income careers. If anything this country should do, I would say 'Make America Read Again'. Without reading and acquiring knowledge, we are sitting ducks - allowing others to shape our lives, opinions and thoughts. Those with knowledge and think for themselves are invincible. These individualistic thinkers are what governments fear. They prefer the group-think of the masses. And we know, or should know, what happens when group-think occurs. Reading - and imagination - are the keys to understanding yourself and the Universe around you.
As a child I loved books but I didn't get far because I became discouraged by those who read faster than me. I didn't read through a full book till I was 15. Since then my reading comprehension and speed improved. Now in my 40s I read 10 books a month. My oldest son (17 yo) had been very discouraged that he had difficulty reading because he has Dyslexia, I got him an audible account, he loves that he has this option. Don't let discouragement prevent you from picking up or downloading a good book.
I've always loved reading, but there was a time in my life, that I neglected that passion. However, I have since fallen in love with reading again. Right now, am reading, The Total Money Makeover by, Dave Ramsey. It's a good book.
I have loved reading since I learned to read. That was seventy years ago! I don’t have any idea of how many books I have read. In one book I read, someone had written inside: “He who loves a book will never lack a friend.” I think that is true. My favorite book is probably “Of Human Bondage” by W. Somerset Maugham, although I like most of his books. “The Painted Veil” is another favorite.
but sadly those who read may lack friends sinxe no one will understand them and it will increase the gap between them and the nonreadinv majority but it isn't a choice -those who love books can't help it
