Awesome video Brett Just pulleying down creates heat soak and more stress on the pistons. I'm 2.3 Maggie 16 Camaro SS 6 speed Primary Cat delete and rotofab This video confirms: Headers, LT4 high/low&injectors, DSX flex sensor are my next big step Also will look into Methanol! Goal is to have reliable and CONSISTENT 600whp on stock Pistons/Cam/Heads
Great video, glad it shined the light on just how important the fueling is on these cars. It's the most over looked thing on a lt platform I feel. To many people with fbo or h/c on 93 wondering where the power is coming from other shops.
@@realdealsteelgarage Thanks I was curious. Had always heard there wasn't much reason to upgrade before I did my build and now I'm starting to wonder. Car is stage 2 vvt cam, ported heads, fbo e85. Wouldn't mind squeezing some more power out of it if possible. SS A10
What are your thoughts and or inputs on VP new water ethanol? I was thinking about running that setup compared to meth since it's so corrosive on everything.
I know installing a meth kit is cheaper than doing port injection, but with toohighpsi’s port injection module. Do you still think meth is the way to go, or run straight e85 with the help of the port injection, and on the long run which route is safer?
@prayperformance5137 this is a great reason to do another video then. I'm at the crossroads of meth or port injection and no one can really explain why either way is better
What about running 93 octane and meth on a lt4 with a stage 3 cam in it? Would it be more beneficial to skip meth and staying on 93 and doing a flex fuel kit and running like e50?
Question. I have a zl1 I recently added E to the car. My fuel system is dsx low side, cam, stock injections. Running 13psi stock cooling system with only a 174 T stat. E85 only gave me 20hp but 51ft tq to the tire.. does this seem odd? Also, what would meth do to my car?
@@sniperpronerfmods9811 i was considering meth but afraid of pump failure. Also, does meth cool that much. Maybe a big boar fuel pump and Cordes ice box??
@@mjc3502 for twin turboing my c5 on pump gas... My biggest concern was with the extra heat from more HP... The rings would expand and crack my piston since the engine is 100% stock stock ring gap. I wanted to do water meth to cool the rings as a security measure and add more timing. I decided to go against it because after reading up from what hellcat guys go through meth pumps start to fall once a year since methanol is so corrosive and attracts water so much. I am not risking my whole engine on a stupid little pump that fails once a year... AEM, ALKY CONTROL, SNOW... they all fail. So I decided to go flex fuel, full e85... It cools it better... Makes it safer... And the best part is if the car fuel pump fails then the car just shuts off and everything is ok... Meth shuts off is blows up. But to answer your question water meth is so effective you can run double the boost on the same 93 pump gas... It cools thr engine so much that it idle you can see the engine condensating like a cold beer. I want to open a race shop because there are tuners like this ruining peoples cars... I am saving money for it. This is for a stock turbo set up... You. Need to do something different for superchargers Do you live in floirda?
@@sniperpronerfmods9811 I live in Michigan. My original question was due to only gaining 20hp on E and thought meth may help with fueling, but I'm not looking to spend 10k on a blown motor. So, the big boar pump may be my best bet if I need extra fueling and leave meth and the risk alone.
Just to confirm: you guys are using Methanol for cooling primarily and not fueling ? Hey man do you mind sharing the Methanol setup you referenced in the video ? (The AFR gauge and led setup, etc)
No we are using the meth for additional fueling. The cooling is just an added bonus. We were using LT4 low side, bigger DI injectors and pray performance custom Meth kit that we offer.
@@realdealsteelgarage Thank you for the info This kit is for sale ? Did you guys install the low side from going under the back seat or did you drop the whole tank ? Appreciate this content guys!
@@Highlander1432 the low side we drop the tank and replace. We offer a low side, bigger injectors, and our pray performance in house methanol kit. Not all three as a “kit” but we can get you hooked up if you need something
