I changed all my food storage containers to glass, and transfer a lot of packaged items to them. Too bad I didn't do it before the age of 64. 😭

I was born in 1952. Not much plastic in our home as I was growing up. Milk was in cardboard wax covered cartons. Water from the tap into a glass. Unfortunately when I was raising my boys everything was wrapped in plastic. Now for the last 10 years I have gone out of my way to avoid plastic. It’s very difficult.

One thing I never considered was Topo, my favorite alternative for water and soda. I now know, without a shadow of a doubt, that Topo Chico is the main culprit of my bladder irritation! I’m sorry TC fans, but it is what it is. I’m officially dropping the TC and fizzy or processed drinks and I have a gut feeling, no pun intended, that I truly found the culprit here. yeah only drink from glass or wood. I also avoid stainless steel and all metals. Glass is the best.

Ironically BPA exhibits the LEAST estrogenic and anti-androgenic activity of all industrial bisphenols. BPS and BPC are both more xenoestrogenic and anti-androgenic.

I've been trying to look for a pasture raised meat supplier who doesn't package in plastic, but it seems like it doesn't exist. Hopefully there will be some biodegradable film breakthroughs in the near future that can be used for packaging meats.

I'm sorry but I'm done for there's no way I can avoid water from a plastic bottle and grain fed beef it's all too difficult.

How should I drink water then? Public tap water has fluoride and problem other estrogens in it that reduce testosterone. But what’s the alternative? I don’t know if my family has the means (and most) to find expensive filters?

@Paul Saladino. Ask them to wrap the meat in butcher paper, then vacuum seal it and freeze. That way you have a barrier between meat and plastics. I do that when I freeze my fresh meats.

I understand the reasoning behind not wanting to drink fluids from plastic bottles but here’s the rub: Most people, myself included cannot afford to drink strictly from products made of glass. Particularly while we’re out and about.

It's really hard to find some products without plastic containers. I moved to glass water bottles years ago.

The bottom line is we have very limited choices, but there are choices. I appreciate what Dr. Saladino sheds light on. It gives me things to think about and how to pick my battles. He and his guest are giving information, it is up to me to read, critically think, scrutinize, and make decisions that work for me. So far, the information he has provided has done a lot of good for my health and fitness. One question I have is are stainless steel cups and containers better than plastic? I use yeti products.

Fuck sake just when I thought I was in the clear now reading about plastic, the organic kefir I drink is in a plastic bottle the water I drink is in plastic bottles hell the butcher even gives me my steaks in a plastic bag.

I can buy farm fresh meat locally in my own glass or stainless containers. The pigs and cows eat local grown food and have lots of space and fresh straw. They go outside year round. Perhaps not utopia level ideal, but good enough for me...

Dr. Paul, regarding hunting for meat.( My fellow hunters and sportfishers are not going to like this). Glyphosate use is so widespread that even wild game in Canada and the US is contaminated. This has given rise to the spread of Lyme disease and CWD (Chronic Wasting Disease), as wild game is becoming immuno-compromised like humans. The ticks and pathogens were always there but the game had a robust immune system to counter the disease. Game that grazes on active farmland in North America eats, drinks and breathes glyphosate right alongside domestic herds. In the Western North American mountains, glyphosate is used to defoliate deciduous timber stands so that marketable timber can be planted and harvested. The run off has contaminated the watersheds and the back country where this practice is allowed. That in turn, is going to show up in Pacific Salmon, which is yet another factor contributing to that species collapse. Given that 70% of air, freshwater and land in North America is contaminated with these organophosphates, you will have to really search for non-contaminated wildlife.

I have to have a Sparkling water in some form. I need some pizazz in my life. I wonder if soda stream would be good. I have a whole house filter for my water that gets all toxins out and you could get glass for the soda stream. Is there something else there that is problematic?

I live in both Chiangmai and Beijing, you need to drink bottled water in plastic....or is it better to just drink boiled water? Isn't this water also coming through plastic pipes? Or old pipes with lead? Some of the water is also on the hard side though. Any thoughts? I would like to not produce so much plastic waste.

I recently gave up liquid hand soap. Amazing how difficult it was but I am ok. I then decided to stop buying liquid laundry detergent and bought the detergent sheets instead, which come in a box. Unfortunately, inside the box was a plastic container. It's really disgusting how unconcerned corporations are. They are just concerned with their bottom line which is making a profit. This, folks is capitalism plain and simple. We need a change of system towards real democracy and ending concentration of wealth in a few hands.
