I love the Western I got it first time at lev 25 or so. I just re run the event a couple times as I levelled up. It's my go to if my main breaks or ammo gets low, great back up and fun to use if you only have about 5 enemies too kill in a group
I use mine for close range stuff because two of my shotguns (Kabloom and Crowd Control) have explosive effects and I'd rather not damage myself in the process.
Instigating works great on this for most mobs in the game. Combine it with Adreline and Gun fun and you will be one shotting. Faster reload as 3rd star would be great.
I love my LAR. I found a level 45 one when i was level 40. I was gonna trash it for parts, but since it was the only one i had seen at the time, i decided to keep it till i could use it. I am currently a level 84 stealth vats rifleman and am still using the same one. I wish Bethesda would show this gun a little more love.
I love my Western Spirit. With a couple of upgrades it is indeed my daily gun - despite the fact that I run a shotgun build. I may have to craft one up and try some rolls to see what I can get, then maybe build a second spec for rifles.
It's pretty easy to go with rifles or commando weapons, because usually you can get 9 damage boosting perks since there's few competing perks under perception.
I honestly think it's better then my sniper as the reload and rof more then make up for the slight damage per shot loss in comparison. I use doctors orders as a sniper or a quad 50 cal depending on ammo levels
I haven't done rifleman yet as i wasn't what kind of build i wanted to go with, but i think I'll be in a pretty good spot if i just convert my bow build into a rifleman. I have a bunch of rifles on my storage character. A couple lever actions, a couple dragons and black powders. And some gauss rifles. I'm looking forward to trying them all
got a qffr25v L.A.R, amongst all the qffr25v weapons i currently own, it's mid, it's fine, it's okay. Dont go in expecting something stellar even with a b50c15r. hipfire is amazing though comparable to my 100+ range combat shotgun when comparing crosshair size
Yeah, quad for the lever action is not good IMHO because you reload one bullet at a time so you may as well go for a damage buff like bloody. It's a nice flexible weapon for daily use.
