I don't understand why people complain about the stem design I don't have a rugged clamp-on I have the regular clamps on as long as you tighten them just right there's no play whatsoever. As a matter of fact I have the rugged clamps and I haven't even put them on because there's no need to. The zero 10x is one of the very few scooters you can ride without having to add a damper it's very stable at high speeds. It's just a matter of tightening the stem right. So it's just a matter of tightening it right or sitting here like a baby and complaining like this guy is.
All issuess mentioned here are about maintenence and the way of riding. With such a long stem it is possible to break it, especially in terrain ride, so you have to control your weight carefully, like riding on the skateboard without it. About the sound - I am still using the old clamp - but I used some grease under it, no sqeeky sound anymore.
I am actually a lot more carful with my stem now that I have my new one. I actually gave that tip in my 1000 mile review that the stem is not to be leaned on. the cylindrical design is less stress resistant than a stem that is doubled or oval shaped. So for a naïve new rider like I was who leans on the stem for support the Zero10x stem is inferior in how it handles that kind of stress. Although I will say the new 2 bolt design has treated me much better.
@@MrBThorn i want to let one hand off the bar and scrash my nose, above 15km/h i was not able to let 1 hand free. I am reparing scooters every day and i have tested most of them :) i have costom built scooter that i can lock up rear wheel on tarmac while holding with 1 hand on the bar, from 40km/h to 0km/h with ease, and that is called handing ;)
The stem can be adjusted internally, videos are available. Also on these scooters, you shouldn't put any weight on the bars at all. All your weight should go on the deck. Steering should be lights. Its not a MX bike. Brakes are good but need adjusting out of box. Bigger battery and motors equal more weight. Your points are kinda valid but far from a reason to not purchase one of these.
The video was not great because I rushed it in a couple of hours. But if I was to redo it I would back my points better and have more. Still love my scooter though don’t get me wrong
purchased vsett 10+ one month ago, 25,6ah version battery... omg scooter is so awesome... i changed handlebars and i m going to change the front shock soon.. everything else is so good..
Use your legs to control the weight shift of you body then you can give zero suppression to the stem. Makes it unbreakable. The weight shift control is the most fun part of a standing scooter.
Exactly,. When I ride my scooter I ride it a bit like how I ride my eskateboards, with my weight on my feet and not yanking on the steering column, I use it to help maintain my balance and steer of course but don't need to hold onto it tightly, just nice and relaxed like handling a steering wheel
great video,having own my zero 8x for about a year now I am very happy with it. I ordered mine threw ali Express and saved the $800.00 that the dealer gets.i know how too use lock tight and adjust brakes,etc. so I ordered the heavy stem clamp and some other things that i feel should have come with the scooter. overall I am happy with it. Yeah I agree, unfortunately when buying this scooter you soon understand that you have to make certain upgrades and modifications yourself, mainly for safety reasons, like the stem issue. But it is a really cool scooter, I'm glad I bought one, it's more old school these days to have a zero 10x, but I still enjoy having it. And yes, the vsett scooters are awesome 👍
Hey man thanks for always commenting on my vids! Your right on. My main point was that it’s not a bad scooter. but for the price in our rapidly evolving scooter industry I personally wouldn’t buy it new 9 months later.

Yes totally. When I was looking at this scooter I would have loved to have seen a channel like mine giving me everything I need. Someday I would like to borrow people’s pevs more often so I could do reviews and rides on them like I did with that guys Segway x260 a few videos ago. Yes you can buy aftermarket parts on stem rugged,steering dampers, suspension and part from that none would be disappointed about having putting up with weaker parts 👌
I have techlife x7s same as 10x... And once i have broke stem same as you.. I just repair it by myself now im riding again.. I do 3100 km on mine for 2 years.. And yes also problem with breaks is i need buy new pads every 2 3 months.. All other thing is good i like this scooter so much
Make up your mind kid…..is it good or is it bad? The fact that you have a motocross bike in the background tells me that you probably took the scooter hard to business, or didn’t ya, A? There is a upgrade clamp for the handlebar stem.
I think u coud eliminate the stem creaking if u get the metal upgraded clamp and the metal spacers and put some silicon oil spray to lube it up and it will probably not creak anymore + the stem will be much stronger
Just put some grease inside between the two parts that of the stem. Just remove the two screws and the grub screws that are on the red ring and pull up the top part of the stem. With a syringe you can squeeze some grease in. I did this for my Apollo pro and never had noise since.
Daaaam I'm glad I got the nanrobot d6+ I have none of these issues on my d6+. I 1st got the nanrobot d4+ 2.0 and hated the front suspension. But the d6+ has suspension that is next level!! Good info on the zero 10x!
My Varla Eagle One cost me $1700, but the VSETT is going for a little over $2800. I do hate the stem. It feels flimsy and the clamp is awful, mine is starting to creak more and more. Also the suspension had a bit of play in it. Other than that it has been an excellent scooter. Also, if you have a loose or damaged stem, don't wait for it to break and risk falling off.
No, the company that made the Vsett is the same company that made the Zero, just a different label. The later iterations of the Zero 10x also (so I have heard and I have just received one myself) no longer have stem creak (mine does not) as the stem is now welded. That the corrections on the Zero also get transposed to the Vsett e-scooters makes sense. Per info I saw the Vsett scooters were originally intended to be new models of Zero e-scooters, however, it was decided to launch a new brand instead and thus Vsett was born.
The main problem on that scooter is that rugged folding clamp that's the big one. It looks nice but in a way I'm glad I did not buy that scooter like 3 years ago. It would of been definitely been a better scooter if it had same folding design like my nanrobot D6+ that knob c type clamp.
Well, got 10K Km on my Zero10x The noise issues is super easy to fix, it starts happening when you tighten the bolts way too much (some versions got one bolt some got two near the rugged clamp) , so the easy fix is to use some rubber/plastic o-rings and tightn them very well. Suspensions: i had a crash because my front suspension broke, you guys should really use hydraulic oil suspensions in front atleast. (It will be a bit taller or smaller in front) Breaks: I bought Nutt ones and only having some issues bleeding right now after 9K Km (1K km were done with cable ones) (changed pads 3x on the rear and i need to change now the front one, default disks) The stem snapping is really scary ngl :(

Here's one. Always power the fucker down when you're getting off it. Yesterday, I got off the scooter and pressed the trigger by mistake, and the thing tried to scoot off. Now I'm in a dilemma. I pulled the scooter up and back. And the rear wheel was still spinning and started to bounce like crazy. You'll say why didn't you let go of the trigger? Try that when all is happening like crazy at once. Also it's worth to get a steering damper. Glad I got one. It restricts me in tight spaces now. But it's great for when your travelling. The damper takes all the bounce and wheel control. Before adding the steering damper, I rode over sunken drains at last minute. Scary!!

My point exactly. Abit of maintenance issue regarding the brake and stem, pretty regular stuff if youre a new at it. The 10x isnt supposed to be ridden that hard. It is advertised to be off road and stuff but if you really want to go absolutely ham and get that thrill, you should buy something thats abit more expensive. My general of thumb is to buy something thats a peg or two higher than what youre intending to do it with. It maybe will abit more expensive but it will last longer. My suggestion with the 10x if you want it to last longer is 80% on the pavement and 20% off road.
I did not replace it myself I got the scooter sent back under warranty. I would recommend contacting the company you bought yours from and get a replacement as they will probably be able to get a hold of the necessary parts. Mine would have costed 180 dollars to replace if I wasn’t insured. So that should give you a gauge on what it might cost.
Dude, i wish i had seen this review before buying, same issues, massive creaking, back brake is broken from day 2 basically. Seeing your stem broken makes me a bit scared for mi life now. What do i need to watch for to notice it breaking?
I would recommend putting as little weight on it as possible when riding and simply using it as a balancing aid and it should not snap. If you notice it begin to wiggle a bit more than usual, there are ways you can tighten the stem. As I recall I saw some RU-vid videos on it. Also there are 2 different zero 10x stems the 1 bolt design and the 2 bolt. I had the 1 bolt and that broke. I got it replaced with the newer stem. Which has 2 bolts at the base of the stem and it’s much more rigid.
I never like zero products. The company branding is in singapore but whoever manufacturer their stuffs are big mess from unreliable and overpriced garbage Quality control is also crap and their warranty is plain useless in anyways
Why not just replace the break calipers and lines with hope ones or some dh 4 piston calipers then it will work definitly check out some videos in witch they upgrade the breaks
I think after I’m done with my electric motorcycle cycle build. I’m gonna pimp out the 10x. Clean it up. Get a wrap for it some new tires and suspension a mud guard and some new grips. And some better brakes.

you think because you have problems with your scooter that everyone has them. I've had this scooter for over 2 years, it has over 8000km on it and never had any problems. only thing i change are brakes and tires which is normal nothing else
All is good with mine, but it's only a week old. Agreed about the issues, definitely. I've ordered the rugged clamp also, and steering damping. So, I bought this last week. This scooter should have been updated by the manufacture, for example the rugged clamp (if it doesn't have one, there should be a replacement sent to you on their behalf). I'll keep watch of the brakes... About the stem snapping, thats not good. I feel when breaking, stress on the whole stem. It's like it's bending so that's putting stress at the head of the steering column. I was waiting on VSETT10+ Stock arriving, and couldn't wait anymore, and ordered the ZERO 10X. Do I regret it? No. I'll sell this one next year, and get another. Anyone who gets this check and tighten all screws and nuts. One place I didn't check was the screws that hold the bar that connects to the shock. Front one especially. I lost a screw! Something else I've learned when breaking is to lean back. Your body weight/mass + speed/force is putting stress on the column more than your body weighs.
nearly all Chinese scooters have poor quality, and the problems are only known to the user after a few months. None of these scooters last more than 2 years without problems,, assuming the user is not dead or his house not burned down from short circuit battery issues.
I would say the overall build is pretty solid but there are some short cuts I’m not so happy about. Also the charge ports are a Good way to short the scooter because the meatal around the pins can easily bend in causing one. Olmost happend to me.
yes great video ! I also have this scooter and yes it sucks for this amount off cash ...... rear brake not work good the screws they use on this scooter sucks ! verry bad front light ! I get an accident that broke my rear engine becouse it is verry bad made . lucky I find the upgrated motor from signapore so this happens not again 150 euro all included for the 60v 1200watt the original tyers are so dangerous .

Hey man so sorry. Sometimes I get a lot of questions at the same time and they just go over my head. I got my stem from the company I bought my scooter from (rev rides) I sent it back under warranty and they fixed it. I would also recommend contacting the company you bought yours from to get a new stem. They will probably be able to get a hold of such parts from the manufacturer. If that doesn’t work contact rev rides and ask if you can buy one from them. They are nice guys there and they would probably sell you a new one. The newer Zero10x stem systems are much more rigid and I have had no wobble since I have gotten my stem half a year ago. They would also probably give you replacement instructions. That’s my advice. Again sorry for the delay I try to read and answer every comment but that happens sometimes.
I would love too upgrade my front end on the Zero8x too double tube stem with red renthal aluminum handel bars. I’m doing the bars now but I will be respecting the single stem maybe just a little bit nicer now Having watched this. I love getting raw unbiased reviews such as yours. It really helps with modifying your scooter!
My stem just wiggled apart at the red Bering over time. It was the old stem design with one bolt holding it in place. And the bolt that I now know is supposed to be rock solid was always loose and I would have to tighten it. In other words it was broken from the factory.
2 bolts rev.1 Z8X and Z10X is the best...i have over 10000km on Z8X ride and jump on it and everything is ok...Nanrobot D6+ stem mechanism screw broke few times issue and that chinese DYNABAT battery with nickel plated weldings sucks
I’m looking forward to doing a bunch of upgrades on my scooter. Currently it’s unridable because my brakes started leaking oil after I just did some maintenance.
the zero scooter tires are shitty junk... and the maker knows it but still do nothing about it... bad quality... you will get flat tires over and over again
I always thought those were the strong point. I rode bikes n mine for almost a year with no flats. Maybe mine weren’t the original tires though. Slime definitely saved me like 50times.
Totalt disagree. Driven my 10x for almost tre years i Norway. Works like a clock. None og the problems you diskribe... It is an insanly robust scooter and for the money you cant fint anything close to the 10x.
3 years is a long time in the scooter market, these days there are much better scooters for the same price. This is a totally unbiased view of the problems many riders face on this scooter. If you want to see some more positive videos on the 10x I have many on my channel.

Nanrobot d4+ Vsett line up And kabbo wolf warrior x Dualtron eagle also has great build quality. Those will all run less than 2500, although no scooter is perfect these seem to all have A more sturdy design around the stem and some problems I mentioned fixed. Still most scooters and pevs do have there own problems and what ever you get I’m sure there will be something bugging you. Good luck

Rev rides took care of it for me. They put the 2 bolt design on and in the 4 months I have had it I have had not a centimeter of wobble. If you don’t have a warranty on your scooter I would recommend buying a new stem and seeking out a professional to do it for you. I had an e bike store fix my front motor so if you have one locally they’re mechanic will probably be able to install that.
I can’t find any American retailers who sell stems on their websites. So your best bet would be to buy on from alibaba. Or call stores like REVRides to help you make a custom order.
On my old stem at the bottom there was only one little bolt keeping it straight and it was verry loose all of the time. Now there are 2 larger bolts making sure the stem is straight and it is much better
User error. The zero 10x has been around a while with the minor issues pointed out and fixed. The creaking stem needs grease. If you were riding with a loose stem maybe its not a good idea to jump off cliffs until it snaps. Riding a scooter off road is dumb anyway. Doesn't matter to strong the stem is its going to snap. I have 8000km - 4970 miles on my scooter and its still going strong.
The P settings are in the controller..All adjustable settings can be changed.. Power/ Speed /Regeneration Braking / etc! Many RU-vid vids show how! Just type P settings Zero 10x..Good luck

The 10x do suck done lot of maintenance on it and right now my front motor cable is damaged need to buy a new motor which cost £180 and the stock clamp Isn’t good even the stock tyres but it’s a great beast I like it.
Have to disagree about the Thunder 2 being the best Dualtron ever made. Have you ridden the Dualtron X2 or, not a Dualtron but definitely fast, Rion Thrust?

As far as the Rion goes until they step up production I'm not even going to consider getting one. I mean who wants to wait almost a year to receive theirs after ordering it.
The Vset 10 + still has that bad design with the motor wire coming out on the opposite side of the disc brake making the split rim useless. I don't know what these companies are thinking if you're going to have the wire on that side have a quick connect on the motor wire so you can actually use the split rim🤔

Oh yea and the vsett 10 u where talking about is made by the same company in china witch made the zero 10x so ye they made the zero 10x then they made the zero 11x but they didnt realy call it that it had no name and the manufacturers put their stickers on it the vsett called them and they whanted them to improve on the design and they made the scooter how they whanted only thing is the new vsett still has the stem creek lmao
