Could've taken it a "step" futher by making it seem like the flash heard him talk about the pizza before he opened the door and in that split second had ran and gotten said pizza
I like how The Flash looks so uncanny in this issue. To anyone else he probably just looks really friendly but to villains his genuinely jovial attitude and his overly expressive (but still blank and white) eyes on his mask must look horrifying.
Like that dude (maybe goblin??) who transformed into a dinosaur and spiderman said "you could cure cancer!" And his only response was fuckin "I don't wanna cure cancer, I wanna be a dinosaur!" You gotta be a different kind of nuts to be able to withstand the heroes that actually talk to you
Villains are self absorbed narcissists who absolutely hate being told to be accountable for their actions, because that would involve them questioning their worldview, a disaster for a narcissist.
A loss is a loss, but you get up, shake off the dust, and try again next time. It’s not personal. But that pep talk can make you feel like a real piece of shit.
The flash literally doesn't even have to beat you. They just put you in a timeout place and come back to get you when you've thought of what you've done to deserve being in timeout.
Imagine trying to rob a bank and suddenly you are trapped in the middle of the Sahara with no water. Condiment King was lucky because at least he can eat his ammo, but an average Joe it’s a death trap.
@@luckybutunlucky8937 Here's a small PSA: Eating a limb is not a good idea if you're starving in a survival situation. The energy your body consumes trying to recover from the physical trauma of losing that limb is much more than the energy that eating the limb actually gives you. Another thing, if you were to cut a big artery, high chance you'll just bleed out before you can even eat your limb. Plus, your body is already cannibalizing itself in the most efficient way it can. Ever seen the bodies of people who have been starved of food for an extended period of time? Ever seen how skinny they are? Where did all their fat and muscles go? That's right, straight into their metabolism. Leave your arm alone, your body will do the self-cannibalizing for you.
I love how the Condiment King started out as just a cameo character from a BTAS episode made as a joke, and ended up being an iconic and well-loved character both inside and outside of the comics. The guy who created him must be proud 🥲
@@codysonic1 Would be funny if Flash only took the one that actually messed with him while the other villains could continue their game night. I mean, they did learn their lesson to not mess with his city
@@Thanos_mad_titan the thing is flash probably would have asked the others if he could join after the one who messed with him got locked up after all he knows they haven't done anything yet
This was also Jeremy Adams last issue on the main Flash book Also, the fact that Wally just casually ran to the end of time and space so that he could make Mordru look like a baby will never not be funny
@@cubehead8046this is Wally. The comic is literally called “a celebration of Wally West”. Wally is the permanent Flash for the time being since Barry left for space.
@@cubehead8046its after crisis on infinite earths where he is dragged into the speed force and stays there for well over 20 real life years before being brought back in 2009. In the mean time Wally was the Flash, then Bart Allen his grandson whom was then beaten to death forcing Wally out of retirement and starting the events that later brought Barry back.
The Flash vs Joker part reminds of that moment in the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" event in which the Joker, while being chased by Batman as usual, suddenly encounters a manifestation of the Flash's spirit, to which he tells visibly upset that facing Central City's hero is completely unfair for him. Despite being completely insane, the Joker has still enough sanity to not mess with good old Barry
Thats not even joker in character its shit writing joker wouldnt fight up front either its just like how they nerf flash in justice league they nerfed joker for a quick story this the problem with comics they cant keep consistent characters unbalanced mess and they make characters dumb or slow just out of lazy writing this could've been better joker know flash is too powerful so he uses his brian and it becomes a fun game of mind vs power but writers again pushing down a character just to make a character look better
@@all9472 You have no idea what you are talking about, kid. It absolutely was in character, and I suspect your entire understanding of comics exists from a standpoint several times removed from the Crisis.

I love it when they realistically portray Flash while not nerfing him. Like ya, Superman is drawing most of the alien invasions, and Batman will Beat you to a pulp, but the Flash, he can do all of that and will STILL give you a lecture. Heck depending on the version, he can also talk down his villains, something most other heroes don't usually do. It's why I compare him to Spider-Man, they are both the Heart of the team, and they are willing to view their villains as people, sometimes evil, but often still deserving help and compassion.(Except for when they kill family members, then the gloves are off)
that time Wally bitched Eobard into running back to his original time period and stole Inertias speed turning him into a motionless statue was really cold. You know you fucked up when the one Flash known for pulling a talk no Jutsu on his foes deems you as irredeemable
Ever since I understood the Flash I’ve come to see him the way a lot of people try to portray Batman. He’s truly sympathetic and caring and he understands that many of his villains are capable of and willing to do good, such as captain cold who has a strict “no innocent bystanders“ policy (I know this one bounces between any innocent people and children) or the guy he had a drink with in the justice league show (cannot for the life of me remember who it is right now). He also tries to see things from his villains side and even offers compromises if there is room. He truly wants to see his rogues turn over a new leaf, and that is his biggest weakness, he can be too forgiving. I’m only disappointed that he took all of them in and didn’t just take the guy that robbed the Flash museum, cause that’s something he 100% would’ve done if none of the other villains did anything criminal in Central City
Unfortunately the opossite may be true. A lot of criminals use apartments and houses as a way to launder money. The more criminal, specially high profile criminals, you have the more money laundering goes. And the best way to keep people from knowing about your schemes is to ask for astronomical rents. To put it simply. Gotham is like New York city. Only less corrupt.
Gotham is a heavy port/industry city. Very blue collar, compared to the city across the bay, the white collar Metropolis. No, really, they're across the bay from each other.
When the writers demonstrate how powerful the Flash really is, it's satisfying. He probably was just listening the whole time smirking about all the stories these villians heard about him.
Reminder that Captain Cold in one issue states that the air around him is so frigid that bullets slowed down. Heat wave's gun in another issue was stated to be so hot that it managed to damage Flash's boot, which can literally withstands the friction from moving 4 times the speed of sound without so much as warming up. Flash's rogue might seem harmless, but that's because they are on the more honorable side of the villains. They're not heroes, but shit, they would go out of their way to avenge a kid flash on Barry's behalf
Yeah they’re not really insane (some of them are in some stories) they just really are the only ones equipped to do at least 1 point of damage to the flash and have more balls than these other guys (Condiment King is actually the GOAT though)
oh no, bullets go from slightly below the speed of sound to... slightly more below the speed of sound? best, 200km/h speed change. oh no, his shoes got hurt? it's not like he experiences infinite energies constantly (to go ftl you need infinite energy, to time travel you need to go ftl)
One time a villain kill Bart Allen and he get fate worse than death. Being slowed down to looks like doesn't move at all and need years to even blink. But the mind are kept intact and run real time.
The Flash is another hero like Plastic Man. They both seem goofy and friendly and not scary at all, but they both have insane power levels and are entirely willing to use their power when the situation (rarely) calls for it. They're goofy and friendly because they *CAN* be. They don't have to be grim and scary to get the job done.
I remember reading this comic one of my favorite parts was when the flash quite literally chased a villain through time and space to the literal end of the universe for a lollipop 😂😂
@@amuroray9115 wouldn't you be. Being chased through time and space to the end of the universe for a lollipop. I van image how scared he was now knowing their was someone who could potentially catch him anywhere or when.😂😂
@@amuroray9115 @amuroray9115 actually no barry didn't know where he'd pop up cuz he's not omniscient What actually happened was that barry would randomly speed through every dimension in the multiverse until he found the one mordru was in then rinse and repeat the same process over and over across dimensions and would do it so fast he would actually get there as fast as mordru Damn imagine u running around ur neighbour hood and the person chasing u gets there before u, then u ask him if he knew where u where going and he says nope and refuses to elaborate I'd be FUCKING SCARED
I love that the rouges have rules and some exist just to keep the team at top capacity(no fighting other rouges, no drugs, no identity theft of other rouges) but some exist just so flash doesn’t get pissed (don’t kill hero’s, women, or children, don’t traffic people) because captain cold and boomerang are okay if a bank job goes wrong and they get thrown in jail for a bit but if they piss him off they understand that they won’t take a step forward before flash ends them
It also serves a useful purpose for Flash himself. If something really serious is going down, he's on good enough terms with his usual villains that like, he knows the bar they hang out at, he can walk up and talk to them because they know he only tries to stop them when they're committing actual crimes, and he knows that, for all that they're people who are willing to do crimes for money, they also aren't complete monsters. Heck, sometimes if people get too out of line, Flash doesn't even have to stop them. The Rogues will do it first. It's a very strange relationship, and one that only really works because the Flash is *so* much more powerful than most of his villains, but certainly an interesting one.
@@thaddeusgenhelm8979 yah I think it was the top and mirror master, one was breaking rules so captain cold froze him solid, and the other was doing and selling drugs so cold beat the living hell out of him, and if you break the rules you better pray cold is coming to teach you a lesson and he won’t send mick to do it, these would probably be things any other hero would have to deal with on their own but flashes villains do it for him, not to mention flash and substance from JLU just a great representation of how his villains operate
@@thaddeusgenhelm8979 Like Wally literally got invited to a rogue party once. Sure it was Trickster having fun but he still showed up and everyone had a good time.
@@Maswartz226 Probably one of the only hero/villain relationships where someone could say like "It's just business" and... Mean it. Barely anyone seems to take anything personally when it comes to their game of cops and robbers.
I have to assume Wally ran to Gotham to catch Joker, like imagine his confusion being thrown halfway across the us to be caught by the dude who threw him
the other thing to worry about is running into the rogues first. the rouges and flash have an understanding, but they're also BRUTAL to anyone who tries to infringe on their gimmicks or territory. heatwave can produce planck heat. weather wizard can make tornados inside of you. mirror master is like every form of paranoia come to life and captain cold keeps them all working coherently together, combining their powers.
I love the subtle part of that ending; Barry waiting until that guy actually confessed to robbing the bank, because you know he could have gone in any time before that but he just wanted to Eff with the guy once he heard that "Central City's the easiest to be a villain"
Despite all the prep time and stuff, Batman having such a hard time with the Joker while Superman and the Flash can casually send them away is just the ultimate L
It makes sense though, Joker's prepared for Batman because that's his main competition. If he wanted to troll around anywhere else, he'd need to learn more about who he'd be up against there, which Injustice showed he's capable of doing when the story doesn't need him to play the role of an incompetent jester.
Honestly I think they just used Joker in this story because he's popular, he's written so badly. Would've been better with scarecrow or some other gotham villain
You know regardless of prep time superman actually has more iq than Batman and the flash can think at his speed which Batman obviously cannot do, Batman has to much plot armor.
Meh, there are some good stories like "Batman: Endgame" by Scott Snyder in which the Joker easily jokerizes both the Flash and Superman, and Batman manages to stop them. Depends on the writers...
@@jackstar7204 Condiment King is the type of villain who would totally spend his ill-gotten gains on importing genuine wasabi to use in his condiment guns, not just the usual green-tinted horseradish.
I love the idea that most of the DC villains are friends who just do normal stuff together when they’re not trying to rob banks or take over the world.
On Marvel Side there's a pub(forgot the name)where the villains like to group up in. Black ant and Taskmaster visit it in one of the somewhat recent Spider-Man comics
Everyone has already said this, but I'll say it again, the Flash's design here is very creepy, and it helps the viewers to relate to the bad guy's fear of him. Him also looking somewhat normal but with the white eyes and big smirk is also another scary part.
This kinda gave me some "I almost got im" Batman Episode vibe, its really entertaining to see villains/rogues to have a poker night conversation. I really wish some other dc comics would do this just for fun for the other villains and rogues in a poker night conversation or a small private party conversation.
He's just like a nice older brother. If you do something wrong, he's not mad at you, just disappointed. He'll put you somewhere you will have to figure out how to get down from. He knows all your hiding places. And he doesn't even have to raise a finger or his voice. Flash might be able to punch someone with the impact of a White Dwarf Star but instead, he proves that it is futile to run, and if you can't escape justice, why try to run from it if it'll just catch up to you... in a flash?
I get the speed. But I don't get how his body is able to withstand the acceleration. How many G-s would going fast enough to break the time barrier have? A: More than enough to vaporize anyone, including Superman.
@@RicardoSantos-oz3uj It's a function of the Speed Force, as far as I can tell. Flash used to wear a frictionless suit that never made sense because his eyes and mouth were uncovered. But the Speed Force seemingly protects him from outside forces like air pressure and dust or something as simple as tripping. Can you imagine tripping at mach 50? Flash survives it, gets back up, and then runs some more. Think of the Speed Force as a buble of 'real' time just around a speedster. Outside that bubble the world ius moving incredibly slow, while inside the bubble it moves normally so there is no speed problems. Kind of like the gravity bubble they're working on now in rockets to offset g-forces and mass/speed issues.
@@RicardoSantos-oz3ujThe Speed Force protects The Flash, it does more than just make him move fast, it also protects him from kinetic impacts like punches and colliding with objects at super speed
@@RicardoSantos-oz3uj the answer is the speed force is a bullshit engine. wouldn't the friction generate heat? Speed force. wouldn't the acceleration hurt him? Speed force. wouldn't moving faster than light make him unable to see anything because the photons can't reach his eyes? Speed force. wouldn't he not be able to run so fast without newton's third law damaging/destroying the surfaces he runs on? SPEED FORCE, SUCKA.
Yeah I'm gonna need DC to make a short horror movie or something on The Flash Like it's from the villains perspective and they're trying to run away from Flash but he'd just being a silly little goof ball and playing around with his food, just picking off the villains 1 by 1 and seeing how terrified they are
I get that it would be narratively exciting but it's always confused me why the Flash can't defeat all the enemies when the whole group is fighting, he has the speed to outrun death and yet fights slow enough to leave a visual trail and be able to be hit by captain boomerang
In order for you to understand the reason you must know the Flash's big weakness, his weakness is a little thing called "The Writers." The Writers decide if he should run faster than death or be slower than a train.
@@ziadmurad4074 oohh look at you so sassy, nope not I'm my entire life have I ever heard of "pLoT* ever heard of sarcasm? Cause that's what I'm doing right now
Yeah, maybe dont mess with the guy who can travel all of time and space by power walking. As for his rogues, they stay there because they dont break the rules. They know as long as they dont escalate past a certain point they have a shot and they will at worst go back to jail for a bit. Dont they also police their own to an extent? Like, if you go to their city and try to cause havoc, they sometimes step in, and step on the bad guy.
"But the Flash...he'll talk to you. Give you a chance. It's the WORST." There was an episode of Justice League Unlimited focused on Flash and Central City, and Orion kept asking Batman (they were there with Flash) how anyone took him serious. He's a clown, etc etc. Then throughout the episode, you just see Flash helping people. They went to a super-villain bar where they found Trickster there drinking milk. Flash sat down and talked with him, and super easily convinced him to turn himself in. He even promised to visit Trickster and play darts with him. I loved it, easily one of my favorite JLU episodes.
i will miss jeremy adams writing for the flash, he was a great choice in taking over for Joshua Williamson. i really enjoyed both of their takes on the flash.
Fun fact: The villain in that comic book with the green and purple costume and the funny eyes is called Bug-Eyed Bandit, who is a common enemy of The Atom.
One of my favourite qualities is that he's kind of ironically always willing to take his time to do things properly. He's so fast, he doesnt need to "rush".
The Mordru one implies that The Flash can move faster than the Big Bang... Which would have to mean, due to the laws of physics, that while he is moving, he is no longer a material object. So The Flash, by classification, is also just teleporting.
I didn't really get that, how did flash exactly chase him through all space and time ?? I mean, how would flsah know that he would be in that exact spot in an instant.
As Death Battle pointed out: His speed is immeasurable by any measurement. He beat two instantaneously teleporting aliens in a race to the other side of the universe. He ran from death. Run through time. A small feat for him is him vibrating so fast he passes through solid matter.
they probably don't want to live in a city like gotham either. It's like living in a gated community suburb. Sure, you might have 'villains' like your HOA, or whatever, but no one is going to try to turn you into a plant.
"He gives you a chance and reminds you you can be better". I was like... this does not sound like Barry. And then I saw they were talking about Wally and was like... yup!
I think marvel did a similar issue to this but with spidey, saying he was the best to get caught by since, at the end of the day hell throw some quips but ultimately unless you do something personal youre fine after some jailtime
I would like to imagine the other villains just kept throwing stuff at the one who stole from Central City, being very fed up with him, and constantly apologising to the Flash
You should make a video about Peter Parkers personal life and the trobles spider man gives to Peters life like his love life, job life, and his friends
For me, it's always been about the Kinetic energy equation we learned in high school : Ek = (1/2)*mass*(speed squared) It has always been so frustrating in most depiction of the Flash, every one of his punches look really weak compared to Superman or Wonder Woman. But physically speaking, mass matters quadratically less than speed in terms of how much energy an object, lets say a fist, carries when moving. Basically, the Flash should punch like a freaking truck every time and knock everyone out of orbit haha
The flash can be so fast that he can outrun the concept of death and run to a place where death doesn't exist, but flash has a bigger threat even a bigger threat then zoom, thawne, savitar, godspeed combined and that is the writers, they can give the flash a random weakness like scarecrows fear toxin which he could see and was too fast to outrun it before it was even seen but they made him slow enough that he fell for it and died to a spinning blade
What would happen if we saw the Flash like this in the DCU? Do you think Lucas Till or Will Poulter should replace Ezra Miller as the Flash in the DCU?
