I agree the $75k Darkhorse should be whippled 875hp factory and next GT500 be 1026hp+(Beat Demon 170). Since we at the end of the V8 era supposedly go all out with a bang
@@hydra5.0 It seemed like your biggest complaint is not getting the performance pack, imo it’s either PP or premium I went with PP, maybe 3.15 will run better on whipple if you had any plans doing that
From a fellow S650 owner, I say hold on to it and try and enjoy it. Prior to the S650 I had a 2018 Q50 sport I gave up on too soon because there was zero tuning at the time. Roughly a few months after selling it, tunes and aftermarket turbos and etc came out. Now there’s Q50 3.0ts pushing 700whp regularly, goracebox and similar companies are waking them up. Hopefully there will be someone waking up the S650s soon.
every vehicle has its issues and none are perfect I have an S650 and the carplay issues are real but I also had them on my 2 S550s as well so I'm pretty sure that's an Apple issue as far as the filters, if you're going to open up her airways and let all the road gunk in there you should probably just invest in some washable/reusable filters cheaper than replacing them all the time I got the PP so the cooling isn't an issue for me I love my S650 and I would trade my FBO S550 in for it again tomorrow if I had to zero regrets here
If tuning does ever become available for the 2024s, it will happen only after ford releases the GT500 version of the mustang. They don't want to canabalize their sales of the performance model. For example, the c8 corvette only became tunable after the z06 came out and chevy was able to capture all of those sales first... Ford will use the same playbook. If you want a fast mustang, you need a 23 and under until further notice. Also, the whipple stage 1 kit does come with a warranty. The whipple stage 2 kit does not. Alejandro Flores channel on youtube covers all this kind of technical info on mustangs. He himself is a tuner for Lund Racing and goes live at 8 pm on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday and answers viewer questions. You can replay the lives from the past and search his videos because he's basically answered every question you may have because someone else has probably already asked it.
@@ajchrome3239 hopefully my buddy got a 24 but isn’t worried about it no being able to get tuned cause anyways he has warranty for like two more years and doesn’t want it to come off
What package comes with the extra oil and trans coolers. I looked at what the performance package comes with on a 2024 gt and didn’t see anything about coolers. Is that only for dark horses cuz I think u said u wished u had opted for the oil and trans cooler?
It doesn’t say it but the performance pack does come with the oil cooler in the lower driver grille and extra trans cooler in the front. Dark horse has that but also comes with a diff cooler
8:05 that’s been happening since the s550, just use the paddle shift to drop a gear when you go up a hill, switch to gear stick to sport and back to drive to get it back in automatic. Sounds like a bunch of steps but it literally takes 5 seconds in real time
I have an s650 and I have none of these issues. I have a manual so can’t comment on the automatics. Also I have not really paid attention to the like temps cos I don’t really drive it hard.
C7 if you sorta fit or young and into good handling. The base mustangs will never drive as good the steering is broken. Try get the Z51 with magnetic ride will blow you away. But there is always GT350/SS1LE too
C7 will definitely handle better but I did love my s550. Maybe look into a gt350 like the other guy said for better handling or Mach one if u wanted to go with an auto
Not really a Camaro guy & I heard the GT350 are really unreliable though unless you get the 2019 & those are pretty pricey they are cool though can’t deny it 🐍
It’s hard to choose from s550/s650 with cool interior with ambient lighting but the C7 exterior is just where it’s at , sucks there’s no ambient lighting on that & I feel like the s650 exterior body style is way way nicer than the s550 for me but s550 are way cheaper man decisions decisions . I’d like to start a RU-vid channel with one of these as well
Hey man I was just wondering how did you install the pony badge on the RTR grille? I want to do the same for mine, not having the Mustang logo there just feels wrong for me. TIA!
@@Cor430vette That’s a lame excuse; what’s the point of being just as fast as your technology allows you too. 2 drivers with the exact same specs and auto will make no difference. Manual cars drivers can
@@mikef6295 what are you talking about .. everyone modifys their car right? Exhaust, tune, ported manifold, intake, maybe even supercharger.. to go faster, make more power. .. but you want to buy the slower car regardless of the modifications your car is slower the first mod should be the 10r80..if all you want is the ability to row gears go buy a Miata .. I’ve only driven manual corvettes before buying a 2020 s550 auto .. your slow ass is what is lame.
I went manual dark horse. Fun car and did great on track, but I agree it should have came with a whipple from the factory. I haven't had issues with Apple Carplay or lines not showing on the reverse camera. However, I have noticed on occasion the screens boot up much faster if I start the car, versus just pushing the power button.
@hydra5.0 I don't understand the camaro 10spd is a ford transmission correct? No camaro owners have that issue of going up hill and it not shifting too the right gear that ive heard of also they get the tremec standard on the camaro ss but you have to pay 70k plus for the dark horse to get tremec when it's made by Ford that is pathetic you have to admit it makes no sense at all.. These new mustang do look beautiful and I'm not a ford guy but I would definitely buy one they look and sound bad ass and they perform good now and way faster now..
Idk much about cars so I could be totally wrong maybe ford does or doesn't make the tremec but I could have sworn I seen or read that they did make that or atleast the 10spd auto in the camaros they make I believe I'm not sure..
@@cryptonator1988 The 10r80 transmission was a joint project between both chevy and ford. Type in Ford-GM 10-speed automatic transmission on Wikipedia. It covers some of the basic info about it. As far as the Tremec... that's made by tremec... The model is the TR-3160 which is the same one from the GT350... it has lightened gears for track use, but those lighter gears can be weaker than the regular mt82 for high hp and torque applications. Both can have issues with high power applications as do most transmissions. Calimer Transmissons in Pennsylvania has staged upgrade packages for both. A number of automatic transmission shops offer upgrades to the 10r80 as well for high hp applications. Midnight performance and RSA Race and Pure Drivetrain Solutions are a few companies that I know of that upgrade the 10r80 auto
The Apple CarPlay issue: You might have already found this out since submitting this video. You’re right, it is a bug, but you don’t have to turn off the car. You can go to Home > Settings > Phone List, and you’ll see that your phone connects to Bluetooth in (3) different ways (phone calls, audio, and CarPlay). This n your case you may just have to click the CarPlay button. Let me know if this addresses your issue. Thanks.
Thats crazy because they hold like 10 quarts of oil too.. You would think it would keep the car cool having all that oil in it.. My 2017 only holds 8 quarts and I thought that was a lot.. I am soo happy I went with a Gen 2 S550 Manual Base performance Pack.. Anyway If I were you I would try going to a 5/30 or 5/40 oil to help with temps.. It looks like you live in a hot area so going with a thicker oil wouldn't hurt the car..
I am glad most of the ppl who have issues with the car are either because you can't tune it or some drag race issue. I just want something cool to cruise down the highway. The thing stuck on the loading screen, I wonder if its Unreal Engine. I am a dev for that engine and its known to crash often
I find the worst part about the newer GT's are the shift points.. The auto's shift anywhere from 1000 to 500 RPM's early, and the Manuals get power cut once they hit 7300/7400 RPM... You can't even run these cars out to red line.. That is a huge problem to me.. Oh and finally I see everyone is having the same issues with the Ipad displays and dash.. I am so happy to have my buttons and real gages. Ford can keep all that other Tech Crap.
My father just bought a C8 2LT for 87k tax included. For the money get lot more car than a dark horse. Same goes for the camaro not picking on mustangs just saying there to much money. I own a gen 6 2018 Camaro got killer deal on it in 2018. But now the Camaro is so much money might just as well find a vet lol!!
They are not built that well. How is the ticking sound? Ford and Quality are not synonymous anymore. So sorry. Dump it take the hit and get something else.
I have 2023 GT with six speed trans and Recaro racing seats. I'm glad I can drive a standard. Unless autos are strengthened they don't last. I don't need a cooler my oil temps stay low plus, I'm doing the shifting. Bottomline? If you are getting a car to drive hard get a standard.
The worst part is the tuning situation makes it have less potential than older mustangs so it's not just slower stock for stock but it don't have nowhere near the potential.
I didn’t know a dark horse with handling package is 50k? Last time I checked it was around 75-80k. Also u actually can get a brand new Mustang with a Whipple for 50k lol. Literally a dealership advertised it. Base model Mustang add a ford performance whipple 50k🤣🤣
Time will tell... Gen 4 coyote has lots of potential... until tuning is unlocked it just wont be realized. Gen 3 bottom end was good for 1000 rwhp with boost and a fuel system and e85... Gen 4 will be too IF tuning gets unlocked. If it doesn't ever get unlocked... then yes
