R&L Electronics in the USA for TINY SA and VNA! The Ultra is $139! and in stock! I have a collection of TinySA and TinyVNA's LOL every time they increase the frequency I buy it. Can't wait for 11+ghz top end! TinySA and a hand held 2m beam works great for power line noise hunting. I set mine at 144.190 to 144.210mhz and look for the pulse every 60 or 120hz, use the antenna to pinpoint the offending pole or span. I tracked down a loose wire tire that had slid to the center of the span this way. Every time the wind blew it would vibrate up and down creating noise!
Good avice, thanks. Bought one a few years ago used. It's big and heavy with lots of knobs, switches, pots, two D'Arsonval meters, o'scope and spectrum analyzer all in one. My favorite piece of bench equipment.
One of the best ham shows Ive seen . Ham radio use to be a technical hobby now its more of a baofengical hobby . Lets put the technical back in ham radio
I am just getting back into ham radio after a number of years inactive... studying for my general upgrade (I figure after 20+ years it is about time), and rebuilding a station (I dropped out of ham radio because my power supply died in the early teens, and I did not have the budget to replace it (and my vehicle was too noisy for (both electrically and exhaust tone) decent operation) I have been enjoying many of your videos to "catch up" on what I have missed. A new HT is due to arrive in the mail today, and getting my 706mk2 running, or getting a replacement are the reward I have promised myself for when I pass my upgrade. I always wanted to get a Oscilloscope or Spectrum Analyzer inline on my radio... both to monitor the quality of my own signal, but also on receive so I could monitor incoming signals... the newer radios (IC7300 and newer (and many even older (756))) include a spectrum analyzer that is great for watching/finding incoming signals, but they do not let you see how your output looks.
That was great. I have some of the stuff talked about. nano VNA v2 ETC. giving me great look at outher stuff out their. I will be adding to my test equipment soon. This is very helpful helping me making a better choice for me and what i do and my needs. 73's
😅👍 there at the end when you talked about your vlogging days. That's how I originally found your channel too! Haha♡ because I am a total coin-op vending machine nerd, I started watching your vending machine vlog videos LOL that was hecka hecka way-back :) good times!
Sometimes I try to make contacts with aliens. I'm still learning their language. Sometimes I try to make contact with God but I haven't found the God frequency yet. I'm working on building a 500 ft tower but for some reason I don't think it's going to be high enough.
I use mine at least once a week. Never gathers dust... always something to test, experiment or play with.. after all that's what ham radio is all about..... for some people.
