Mimi is alive its curently still quite young, it was Snowmoon who died long ago. Jing yuan prolly rescued Mimi from the merchant because he reminded him of Snowmoon.

@@Hojosa From what I experienced the npc talked about Snowmoon like it was an ancient tale and the notes about Mimi from Jing Yuan read like recent diary entries, otherwise why would they currently be at his desk.

@@AkyXf I think Jing Yuan is immortal while the npc, who I assume is a beast person, only live for 300 years. So while the npc is telling an old tale that occurred before they were born, to Jing Yuan it only felt like yesterday, which explains why they tell the same story in such a specific way.

Hachiko?

Yes it's him and they put a statue to remember Hachiko loyalty and I think it's near the station that Hachiko also waited it's so sad everytime I hear the story

There's also Odysseus, whose dog waited until he returned so he could die in his human's arms. I think it's a combination

it's indeed Hachiko, cmiiw but it's like a very important symbol for the place in Japan. You can found it in Shibuya

That's possible! But it is stated as a war against monsters of Abundance. I'm not sure how Abundance might connect with Dan Heng and Blade for now. Maybe I've missed some lore.

I haven't seen the Chinese text for this one, but Mimi (咪咪), is chinese for kitten, or how they would call a cat (like pstpstpst, or here kitty, kitty, kitty). This also shows how terrible he is at naming. Calling kitten as Kitten 😂

@@chromatideSnowmoon is what the lion in the story told by Qingzu is called. In the general’s diary, it seems that Jing Yuan doesn’t know what a lion cub looks like so he got tricked into buying a lion cub instead of a rare species cub, which means Mimi, or “Wave-treading Snow Lion” is his first lion. And judging by how Qingzu only ever mention one lion pet at the seat of divine foresight I assume Jing Yuan only ever have 1 pet lion. And the name from Qingzu’s story and the general’s diary don’t match, along with Qingzu’s uncertainly regarding her story, I can only assume that she made up the story to tell her relative’s kid, and Jing Yuan’s lion is alive and well

I actually haven't found this in the game yet myself, but yesterday I read a twitter thread about Jing Yuan's lion and some people there also perceived it as two separate lions as well-he got a new lion after Snowmoon's passed away. So I guess there's two possibilities here

apparently jing yuan's eng va stated on twitter that they're the same lion, but he also seemed kinda unsure himself so take with a grain of salt ig (i'd link to it but yt seems to not like that, i just found it by searching snowmoon mimi or something like that)
