It's a fascinating country. I've been visiting every year for over 10 years. I've barely scratched the surface of the country.

Anyone who has an opportunity to work or study in China for a few years should take advantage of it and just do it.

For anyone who can't visit China because of health, finance, commitments, or other reasons then it would be well worth watching some of the videos on RU-vid made by backpacking world travellers who have visited China using the 144-hour visa waiver scheme, and in some cases returned for longer visits. There are an increasing number of such videos.

I always recommend people to visit China and explore themselves, never trust the mainstream media especially now over political based, biased.

One small suggestion. I understand that "face" is the generally accepted translation of the Chinese concept of 臉 (literally face) or 面子 (also face). But I think the motivation is dignity (尊嚴).

I always find it strange that I have never seen any blue sky in the videos of China from BBC or CNN or any other Western media 😅
