Thank you putting this out there because I thought 💭 it was just what I was observing. I'm a lady, and I listen 👂👂 to what 25-37 year old woman are saying. If it's whilst I'm dinning al fresco, I'll introduce myself into the women's convention to be polite. We start talking, then I say; " I like men. I don't want to live in a world without men. I'm a woman who knows I'm their counterpart. We're different, a-n-d complementary for each other." Some of the 25-37 years old women say many things. Sometimes they can at least entertain the idea 💡 that men are good 😊. I pray 🙏 for both the 25 -37 year old men and women because their successful relationships are the future I'll be living in once past 65 years old, and I'd like there to be natural harmony between the sexes. Blessings to you and a-l-l your home 🏡 family, and blessings 🙏 to you, and a-l-l your work family , Amen 🙏 and Amein 🙏!

I like this video, although, it’s not representative of what’s available today. Jason Momoa, Simon Sinek, Tony Robbins, Chris Do, George Clooney, The Rock, and Idris Elba are all examples of strong confident men in media who aren’t womanizers as depicted in the thumbnail. I agree stoicism and resilience should be a part in how parents raise their children. Stoicism helped me connect with my positive masculinity, the idea I am strong for others rather than being invulnerable or invincible. The Classic Toxic Masculinity of the Don Draper types and Connery Bond had to go. There was a severe lack of empathy in the classic masculine figures, aside from Michael Keaton’s Batman. Bootstrap theory is not a stoic ideal. I am a dominant personality and I try to lead with empathy. As Marcus Aurelius says, I am tough on myself and lenient on others. Calling people woke because you disagree with them is a toxic trait. Ask questions. As Stoicism teaches us, if someone is being too sensitive be lenient with them and tough on yourself. Be the change you want to see in others. Live by example instead of shaming others. If you throw a tantrum or complain every time someone is being “woke”, you are not being stoic or masculine. I would also change Responsibility to Responsibility & Accountability. Masculinity of old lacked accountability. Fortunately, for anyone who misses the sharp dressing fashion is trending back toward what is being labeled grandpacore.

I think the examples this video shows as "classic masculinity" are telling. I see a lot of Godfather and Peaky Blinders...weren't they murderous criminals? To be honest, I see a lot of men who claim to want old school manhood and masculinity back are not men who accept challenges, own up to their actions, and respect a level playing field. They are men who think that when others gain equlity it mens they have lost something. They believe leveling the playing field has tilted the field. In a way, it has in that as a middle aged white male I do not have the built in advantage my father and grandfathers had...but I believe part of what makes me a man is understanding that what I lost was never right for me to have and that I have been robbed of nothing. I am just being asked to now play in a fair game. I see SO MANY men who cannot accept that. I see so many men who cry about the loss of "real men" because they desire the old arrangement of being their wife's master. They are not to be questioned or held accountable by the members of their family - they are to be obeyed and served. They do not desire partnerships. They do not desire growth and change. They are to be who they are and everyone must adapt to them. I do not believe in this either. All masculinity is not toxic, but there is some beliefs and traits that are. Andrew Tate, Joe Rogan, and the like very much are in my view. If I am not masculine to you because my wife and I are partners and equal, then so be it. If I fall short to you because I respected my child as a human being with opinions and rights - and can say I have apologized to my child when I have done wrong - then so be it. I don't want to be a gangster or UFC fighter. I don't want to work in the world of Mad Men. I don't want a wife who just cleans house and brings me slippers and martinis at 5:30. I don't want children who are silent, meek accessories. What I am is a man with a successful career, a happy 26 year marriage, a well-adjusted college junior who is doing well, and the respect of friends and family. You can do that respecting others. You can do that respecting true equality. You can do that without all the macho BS.
