@@maunochromaticnah it all illusion. Posting doesn't show the full story about your daily outfit. It just blow up trend not a glow up. I can dress casual one day and quickly change to the "better" outfit the next day and claim this was past vs present when in reality both r from present times.
Feeling confident yet not at my caliber. Cuz he think he looks good but nobody care that he think they care. However me in the other hand got all the packages from my looks style and everything and I know they will care and fall inlove with me thus I must degrade myself just so I don't want people to care or too much people to like me. I like sometime be left alone
@@thecooler170well… I think he has grown his style though. You can see from his prior videos from a couple years back his style was different. Now it’s different & for the better. Also, he definitely has helped me find my own personal stule

I like your take about how ideas are timeless, not clothing. I've always thought of timeless clothes as clothes that have enduring appeal, however long that may be. Clothing that consists of simple silhouettes yet have broad appeal, like straight leg jeans or oxfords, which I'm pretty sure you touched on in a previous video. These kinds of clothes can be adopted by almost everyone (as opposed to trends of which only a select number of people in the know follow), yet are fundamental enough that designers can riff on and creating unfamiliar yet recognizable designs.
I wholeheartedly agree with this video, put on your best outfit and act with confidence. Something that I've learned is that your best outfit is what YOU feel the best in, not what others tell you looks best on you. Dress right for your environment, but do it in the way that truly encompasses who you are. Thanks Drew for helping evolve my style as well! I feel that I've learned to start dressing confidently for myself and confidently in myself.
#PVV hey drew!!! i love reading and i really want to explore my fascination with fashion more so i was wondering if you could do a video on just fashion book recommendations (books that you’ve learned a lot from/inspired you, books that are interesting) ++ i would love to learn more about fabrics like which to avoid (acrylics, etc.), what they look like and how you’d describe their texture (as well as level of comfortability, is it itchy, etc.), and anything else you think thats important to know regarding fabrics! i know every article of clothing is made up of different fabric compositions so this is probably a silly request but i’d love to learn more about the fabric types individually and maybe paired together - also on the topic of fabrics, i would love to learn about the fits they produce (tight, loose fitting) some other topics: the power of silhouettes on outfits color combinations the importance of hair and how it can impact someone’s appearance/style the influence of music on fashion (or vice versa!)
Nice video as always. Recently I noticed how brands like Carhart and Timbeland are doing collabs with big luxury brands like Sacai or LV. Maybe a video about the “luxification” of these brands or other similar, would be good .

I am looking into options to make my school uniform better, and I realised all my blouses are worn down, and personally I want to know HOW just how do you get most of your collars to stay up and for them to be sleek and for them to stay hard. On a second note, I think it’d be interesting to see how you do a “how to style your school uniform or even work uniform” video. I know that probably most of your audience, either A- Don’t wear a uniform for school or B- Graduated high school already. But still, there’s such beauty in videos where people touch on mundane topics but with their insight they make it incredibly interesting! seeing xiao zhan modelling in a drew joiner video surprised me ngl - but also I think part of embracing a slower consumption of fashion allows you to look a bit closer at what your clothes represent so I agree that this is important to think about! thnks for the video

Would have loved for you to give some examples about how you personally tie in fundamental ideas like peace/justice into your style. I feel like you could achieve this through the brands you support but that’s not really style. For style it would almost be like fitting the uniform of people who are embodying those ideals, as you mention with denim/rebellion in the 50s. Interesting take!
Drew, I appreciated the format of this video. I think embodying timeless ideas and virtues can be a great way to both inwardly and outwardly express what is meaningful. As well, one bolsters their confidence in general with the knowledge that there are centuries or millennia of people’s work that add to this foundation.
Loved the philosophical approach in this video. As someone who has always been driven by environmental and social justice issues, I’ve had a hard time reconciling the amount of mental time I spend thinking about fashion, even if it is something that brings me joy. Your verbalization of fashion representing timeless ideologies and aspects of the human spirit like the desire for freedom, justified, etc. articulated something I’ve been ruminating on but hadn’t been able to articulate. Since you’re living in New York now, one thing would definitely be fun to see you out and about shopping highlighting different stores like for example left field NYC. Can’t remember if you already went there. I just bought my first four items from them this season and they are pretty awesome and also, other stores like that would be fun to see

Great points and reflections. But how do you know we all share the imagination of these "ideas" certain garments and styles of clothes represent? Different people with differing cultural and educational background might not share the same ideas as you. And if they exist, aren't those ideas also changing as our way of viewing the past changes gradually?
