I just bought a DJI rs3 mini and started shooting but I got quickly disappointed in how shaky most of my footage was. And THANK YOU this is by far the best video I have seen on the topic and my footage has gotten a lot less shaky already. I would really be interested of seeing some BTS of you actually doing these shots. I think it would really help people starting out like me. Thanks again!

Amazing!! I’m so happy this helped you. Sure! That sounds like a good idea. I can put together a video showing bts of how I do these shots 👍🏻😁 Also, make sure to try and calibrate the payload on your gimbal if you’re still having some issues. Otherwise it’s just practice :)

I have an rs3 pro and I too get shaky footage sometimes. Not all the time tho. There are times when I don’t change a thing but the footage is buttery smooth. And then I just take it out the other day and I can easily count how many steps I took filming the thing. Btw, I find it extremely difficult to take smooth slow shots being close to a subject.

Have you tried recalibrating the gimbal for your camera? Sometimes that can help. Perhaps some more practice with the ninja walk can help? Also yes being close to a subject is harder because any small movement you make will be shown. You just need to do multiple takes until you get a shot you're happy with. That's what I do :)

@@Markchristiankc I do recalibrate and rebalance the gimbal for every lens i have. Idk, its a mystery. But what if I should put a certain weight on it to make it work as intended? Like, maybe an a7 III and a sub-400 gram lens is way to little?

Ahh yes okay. That is actually a thing because I’ve had a similar issue with my crane 3s in the past. If the setup is too light it can cause issues. Perhaps try adding come counterweights from smallrig to your setup and see if the extra weight helps at all? If not it may be a question for DJI. Perhaps a faulty unit?

@@Markchristiankc A friend of mine once gave me a Sigma 35mm 1.4 which is heavier than any of my lenses and it worked nealy perfectly, so I guess the rs3 pro is just meant for heavy loads, lol.

Yeah it definitely is. That’s part of why I went for the RS3 Mini. I didn’t need the extra strength. That and it was cheaper haha 😂
