Why Your Pothos Plant Isn’t Growing! 

Finally a video that is aimed at me. I'm so done with the videos saying "impossible to kill, grows a lot all the time whatever you do" while I've had my golden pothos for almost 2 years and none of the stems have grown longer or branched, I've just managed to kill a couple of leaves. The best growth it ever saw was when I accidentally removed a leaf and decided to throw it in a cup of water and it branched and grew roots in a couple of weeks. And when I put it in the pot, it died in a week. Furthermore, my pothos is sitting under a growlight right in front of the window.

I got a pothos from a charity shop over a year ago it was in really bad soil and a pot way to big so i dealt with them problems.It had one curled up leaf and for long while i had it on heater mat with grow lights nothing its curled up leaf rotted and fell off but the stalk was still alive.In the end i took it out of its pot cheaked it for root rot or any outher problem everything seemed fine so i stuck it in my fish tank and left it.A week ago i noticed a beautiful satin pothos leaf its gorgeous at the top of my tank, i took it out of the tank to see what the problem was and noticed the root that was originally on it was black and dead even though it looked fine when i put it in the tank and it had grown another healthy root so that had been the problem all this time.This little plant had been fighting to keep itself alive all this time and has succeeded iv never owned a pothos before this one and i love them now and its staying in the aquarium.hope mine grows as good as yours.

Thanks so much for the recommendations, our little pothos literally sits in front of a easy facing-window (not the greatest, but full light throughout the day) and has barely sprouted more than a couple new leaves in the past year. Maybe we'll try to improve its soil.

We have a few pathos that my grandma had for well over 20 years, my aunt has them and they aren’t doing too well..she’s going to hand them down to me. Hopefully getting them new dirt a little fertilizer and lots of love can bring them back. They use to trail so beautifully and had a lot of foliage! 😪

Ive had mine for 3 years. Its barely grown if any. I kept it next to a morning sun hot TX window. with partial blinds open. I just put it in my bathroom window sill which will get bright filtered morning light. I also transplanted a piece of my friends giant pothos into it too. We'll see.

Hi. I propagated some cuttings and their vines started to sprout. 6 of them. This is 3 months later and 5 of the cutting vines dried up and only one leave has began. But even that is not growing. I'm going to try putting it in better lighting. Thanks. I will let you know.

Another reason is not getting enough water. I used to water mine quite infrequently, once in 2 weeks or more, to allow it to dry out. It stayed green and looked healthy but didn't grow at all for months. I'm now watering it regularly, once a week, and it is growing

Does the color of the light matter like if the light in my house is yellow/warm color lighting? Would it be good if I bought a small white light for the pothos?

I had mine right by a window for almost a year and it never grew. So I thought maybe it was getting too much direct sunlight. So I moved it elsewhere in my living room near a window. Then I starting leaving it outside over night & it instantly grew a new leaf within a few days! So I started leaving it outside once the sun past my balcony.. and after that leaf… it hasn’t budged 😢 I’ve had it in water since I clipped it from another one that was in water. Idk what else to do.

Is it possible to have too much light? We have ours in the window, so it gets all day indirect light from the sun, but it still gets pretty bright. Since I doubt lighting is the problem, I think maybe the pot might be too big because we got the potting mix from Home Depot on the recommendations from every source we found.

Neon pothos sitting two feet from my southern window and not much growth in three years.Last year i started fertilizing and it made no difference.I tried trimming the few vines it has and never got any branching.Its about to go in the trash bin.

How do i get to you store to buy plants?

Hi! I have my pothos in my bathroom, but I do have a grow light on low for 8-12 hours a day. The plant is going straight up towards the light, but it isn’t growing vines. How do I fix that?

I keep hearing that pothos are indestructible, yet I've figured out how to destroy them 🤦🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️ 4 of my 6 pothis plants have died 😖I'll try moving the remaining 2 to better lighting, but they are actually doing pretty well (they were in the same room with the other 4)

Only some of my pothos plants have curling leaves and are not growing and they have the exact same conditions as the others, which are all doing well: plenty of light, watered sufficiently and fertilized the same as all the others. So it has to be something else.

Your lights dont work because you have it to far from the plants.These lights need to be almost touching the plant.
