I am so proud to see how you are growing and taking command of the wedding space in videography! When you said, @2:13 " I don't want this to be a gear video" I understood what you meant however, (in my opinion) you are one of the MOST qualified to actually talk about gear and promote it based on EXPERIENCE and not specs! Keep up the great work! I wish you NOTHING but the best! 👍🏾
I would also challenge any wedding cinematographer to leave the slow motion off for almost the entire wedding. I only shoot slow motion on very specific moments. I really noticed a difference and how powerful 24 frames actually is. Also, it makes the shots that are slow motion more special. Investing in some windguide for my Rode NTG4 so i can get better audio. Got booked for a paid wedding in Spain with my brother who is a photographer (included with flight, transfer and hotel) so im going to use these tips. Earned a sub. Edit: wait, i was already subbed
For anyone on the fence about joining his course to learn this style, THIS is the academy to join. From the coaching calls to the tutorials, he literally gives you EVERYTHING and then some. HIGHLY recommended.
That was soooo gooood. I left most wedding videography forums I was part of because they felt stale. This feels so fresh to me and excites to me to give it ago in my upcoming weddings.
i think it's important to emphasize that Justin isn't saying that wedding vows and speeches are inauthentic and boring. we all know how powerful vulnerable speeches and intimate vows can be, it's part of why people look forward to going to weddings in the first place. i think he's just found a way to capture EVEN MORE authentic dialogue that can be added to wedding films in a way that really elevates the story. it's not either/or, just more tools for the storyteller. keep pushing/innovating my friend:)
Just the video I need!! I’ve got my first paid wedding this weekend and a few lapel/boom mics. Definitely going to be incorporating these tips for shooting that day. S/o Justin!!!
Let’s go Will! Crush it this weekend 🔥🔥🔥 we have a group mentor session Wednesday in the academy. Should definitely join and hop in so we can all game plan with you.
My question is how do you deal with photographers or you have team of photographers in the company. How do you handle photographers that the couple booked from other vendors. I'm a solo shooter and I don't get along with photographers sometimes because they rushing everything and do not give me enough time to apply my creativity.
Hey Justin, great video. I also save most of your gear videos on IG, great references for the future they are! I have a quick question though, if let's say the Bride has a significant moment during bridal makeup with her moh, would you ask for an interview with the moh right after it happened? Would you say find a quiet spot in the hotel and shoot the interview? In advance, thanks Justin!
Hey. I’ve done it both directions. Sometimes I’ll get the MOH to give me a soundbite right in the moment as she’s crying sometimes to extend the actual moment itself. Then I’d take her outside and breakdown everything that happened in a 1 on 1 style interview.
Hey. I’ve done this a few times in some behind the scenes videos. I’ll link some. It’s possible with yourself. Most of our films it’s just me and one other person. Even the bigger films, I still am responsible for micing.
I have a question about one of your setups I saw on RU-vid! In your DJI RS3 Pro and Easyrig setup, I saw you had a strap wrapped from the follow focus rod to the lens, does that eliminate lens wiggle when pulling focus?
You hit targets with a super scope! Wow man! Mad respect! When I get married I want YOU to capture the moment! Mad respect my dude! You just gained another fan of your awesome work and knowledge! 🫡🎥🎬
