Honestly, I didn’t really like that. If someone has an accent because they’re not that familiar with a language, that’s understandable. But when a native purposefully does an accent, no matter the reason, it’s nails on a chalkboard to me. I can’t explain it. It’s just such a pet peeve of mine. It’s like seeing a painting that’s slightly crooked. It’s not a big deal, but for some reason it bugs you to an unreasonable degree.

I think that sometimes people with a west mindset into a K-pop groups can be really necessary. Mix of cultures in this case handle so well the vibes between the girls. Yunjin’s approach is much more easygoing then Korean’s one. It’s just cultural (I love it too) and Eunchae deserves her “freedom” vibes. I thought that just because in Korean what the people think about you is very important, part of your reputation comes from that, let’s look the fact that date someone can be devastatingly deleterious for you career. Absurd. Btw, I clearly see how Eunchae is really different from other K-pop female maknae, much more confident and mature and strong. I love them! 🫶🏽

I think the older members are very protective of Eunchae, perhaps a bit more than typical for some groups, due to the sad situation they went through with Garam right after debut. Being so powerless to probably help her through that made them even more fiercely protective of their maknae. I won't delve into the Garam situation on a factual or organizational level, and whether it could have been handled better by Source/HYBE and how. It simply was what it was at this point. However, that must have been a very upsetting period for someone like Eunchae who was so young and new in the industry seeing how the public could turn on an idol so sharply, and how quickly a company could abandon one as well. In such a situation it would be very natural to circle your wagons and be very protective of your youngest remaining member especially as Sakura had loads of industry experience and has see a lot of the ups and downs of this career. Chaewon too, despite her relative youth had seen her share of controversy directed at her personally over how she was included in IZ*One and IZ*One's hiatus due to the Produce scandal. Yunjin had gone through a kind of trainee hell and nearly threw in the towel. Kazuha had arrived at a career crossroads and made a radical shift and was now adapting to another new national and work culture. I think those experiences helped them all when it came time to helping their youngest member to navigate this and in helping each other through the ups and downs of idol life.

@kentvesser9484 I know there is always that day where a maknae gets criticized heavily for something or another and they always end up losing their smiles, it just seems like a "rite of passage" in a way in the K-pop industry where the youngest has to lose their voice and smiles for them to be able to become someone more and to be seen as someone stronger in the Korean-fanbase's public eyes. I just don't see that happening with Eunchae. She is insanely well insulated from the outside hate comments they receive although I'm sure she still does see some of them. If she ever does lose that smile, for whatever reason, there should be a call to cancel all those who made her lose her smile.
